- Just wanted to make this video of how a 370Z will sound with only a Tomei Exhaust. In my opinion, this exhaust is one of the best sounding in the market. I have a lot planned for this car and will be tuning it soon. If you guys enjoyed the video feel free to stick around!

It sounds perfectly fine with Stock Y-Pipe and Stock Cats to be completely honest. But buying the Y-Pipe will give you the performance benefits.
@@ftmanjo1613 Adding the larger y pipe can cause drone but you will see a huge jump in performance because the stock y pipe is so skinny.
@@zachflanagan5016 exactly, so unless you can handle the noise and want the performance benefits. Then the Tomei is a good choice for an exhaust. But everyone has their choice to make :)
seriously i would get tomei with a megen racing y pipe and stock cats until your getting a tune then get test pipes and headers if you want .

How do you get the mid pipe to fit on the stock y pipe? My stock y pipe is a smaller diameter than the tomei mid pipe

Have you noticed any gains? At least something lol? I have everything stock besides an eBay axle back and I’m thinking getting the tomei and z1 Y pipe mainly for the sound but what do you think performance wise?

To be completely honest my butt dyno is not that reliable. But from what other tuners say, the tomei "straight pipe" design does remove the OEM Exhaust restrictions. So I'm sure there is performance benefits. Also, the tires I had for this video were not hooking at all. :(

isnt the stock y pipe 2.5 inch? whereas the tomei cat back is 3 inch? i was wondering if you had any issue installing it?
no issues, just make sure you use the new hardware. Old hardware will cause issues

There are only two scenarios where a tomie sounds good
1. Stock cats and Y pipe
2. Turboed
Any other scenario it sounds like amplified raspy ass

Ultimately the Tomei is a track setup. I have the Tomei Y pipe as well and it honestly sounds very very similar. However at higher RPM it’s fucking LOUD.
