Thank you for posting this. I need to remove mine because the Ball Joints are fused to the Torsion Arms. 45 years of corrosion isn't much fun.

Hi Mic, great that you have shown how to remove the trailing arms. I will do that at my bulli-Comeback project in January. It is a baywindow bus, but the technique seems to be nearly the same.

Like your video, just what i needed now when I have to replace the Arm :-)
Hi, Credit to you learning how to repair your VW, my tip is for loosening the allen drive grub screws, how the second one started to round. The 19mm nut is a lock nut and should have been loosened first. By the looks of it the grub screw clamps the arm to the spring pack so you"ll need to tighten that (probably to a specific torque) then holding it still tighten the lock nut. I hope this helps.

How do you put the upper arms back?
They will slide back in, but I'm positive that you need a certain tool to re-tension the spring plates inside the torsion beam
