    This is actually fantastic. This is extremely well laid out and explained well. The community of people that do this, including your self are going to start a renaissance of moving humanity forward again. This is how people, I should say giants, used to think. Think Da Vinci, Newton, Faraday, etc. I’m so excited to start putting stuff down , it makes me wish I wasn’t an accountant!

    Thank you. This was very useful. I'm making my maps of content in Evernote and it's fire. Focusing them on questions is so much better than the way I'd learned it earlier which just focused on concepts. That was interesting but focusing MOCs on problems to solve and questions to answer actually helps me reach my goals. :)

    I think you balance focus and creativity by incorporating what you love to do into the mix, and that's where we hear people being "in the zone" or in a state of flow

    The term MOC didn't come from Nick Milo, but from the book "How to make a complete map of every thought you think" by Lion Kimbro (2003).

    Thank you 🙏 for this video. I've watch and re-watched many of your videos and each time I gather some new pearl. This video it was like you've looked inside my mind and answered a burning question I've had for a while - how to thinking in Obsidian. I'm also a big fan of canvas in Obsidian as I like to visualise and connect my thoughts/ideas. Please consider becoming a Brave Rewards verified creator as I'd gladly tip you for your awesome content! Many thanks

    Thank you Vicky. Loved it. I define a MOC as a contextual structural index for a group of concepts. Using a canvas allows for even deeper structural linking of the ideas, a VMOC. I would call your opposing ideas MOC a SOC, a synthesis of content. This way I don't end up with a proliferation of MOCs which I reserve for highly related concepts. Each SOC represents a use case of intersecting concepts that create a piece of knowledge.

    • @VickyZhaoBEEAMP
      @VickyZhaoBEEAMP  Před rokem +1

      Great definition and VMOC! Re MOC - how do you use your MOCs?
      And re VMOC - Love that. Can I use the term in my next video?

    • @mageprometheus

      @@VickyZhaoBEEAMP I use MOCs the way Nick Milo evangelises them in LYT, as an organising tool for permanent notes once those have become stable. Basically, they are a list of links surrounded by contextualising descriptions. Home -> MOC -> MOC -> Note. Easy to get from a home page to a note in a few clicks. They also create hubs in the graph view or Excalibrain. If I need a MOC which also shows the relationships between permanent notes, I use a canvas and call it a VMOC. A visual map rather than a textual map. The level of synergy between notes can be represented by their spatial proximity on the canvas or by the width and colour of connections. There are endless ways to partition the global set of permanent notes into other maps. One may be for a video, another for a workshop, and a third for a book. These are what I call SOCs. Synthesis - the combination of components or elements to form a connected whole. These are useful as outlines while developing a script or manuscript or to extend into a long-form knowledge item. You can use any of my terms or descriptions in any way you like. Your videos have brought me great enjoyment and learning.

    Everything you do is great, for some people giving the examples how you actually got here is great, I just get bogged down in your thoughts and cannot put the structure my head cannot follow.up. Anyway I'm watching most of your view and they are great maybe I'm not so haha

    Really great video, thank you! I think you're aware of this, but I find the audio in your videos a little strange! I watch on my TV, and for some reason your sound rotates through my surround sound speakers, it's not consistent at all. Something to look into, but love your content!
