Someone should turn this to a movie for people to acknowledge this story of a beautiful man. 💔

Watched this film and I was moved and saddened at the same. I have never heard of this guy and was just blown away by his story. People don't realize how abandonment has such a strong hold on one's life, even into adulthood. A must watch.

I’ve just seen this on Netflix, I must say this documentary was impeccably done. I’m so sorry that he had to suffer like this.
Used to get is haircut at my mums in the 80s in Nottingham because there were no black barbers yet. He was friends with my brother and played guitar with him for a short time. It seems like he had such a lonely existence and really should’ve received psychological help early on. He got famous in such a racist anti black homophobic era ... against all the arts.
Such a talented, astute, Beautiful, complex, formidable guy, ahead of his time...Who died too young.

Just now seeing his story. He had it rough in that era. I don't believe he did what they said he did.

A tormented man who was born 20 years too early. I have to say that I actually feel sorry for his brother John who had similar hardships when growing up but took a very different route to Justin.
The tears from John at the end of the documentary are very deep and very real but surely he must know deep down that what his brother did (Suicide) has nothing to do with him and is more to do with Justin's own demons.

Lonely boy. What do we do? Many of the same people who caused this tragic demise have gone on to good jobs with places like the BBC as sports commentators. John McGovern comes to mind. How is he employed by the BBC given his homophobic attitude? Speaking of Justin he said "He smelled lovely" , had a dismissive option of his career and finally had no problem when Justin was called a poof by his peers. John McGovern is a disgrace to Footballers and should be banned from the BBC.

And a few of them was probably closeted gays themselves.

I must admit had no sympathy for Fashanu when he came out nor even when he died. Since that time however having to work with some gays my eyes have opened to the fact that being gay is hardwired. There is no choice about it and in retrospect I think Fashanu had a really bad time.
