John & Lindsey (Skeye) cover Jeff Buckley's rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" from Jeff's album, "Grace."
I heard there was a secret chord
that david played and it pleased the lord
but you don't really care for music, do you
well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth
the minor fall and the major lift
the baffled king composing hallelujah
hallelujah...
well your faith was strong but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to her kitchen chair
she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah
hallelujah...
baby i've been here before
i've seen this room and i've walked this floor
i used to live alone before i knew you
i've seen your flag on the marble arch
but love is not a victory march
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah...
well there was a time when you let me know
what's really going on below
but now you never show that to me do you
but remember when i moved in you
and the holy dove was moving too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah
well, maybe there's a god above
but all i've ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah... - Hudba
I keep coming back. Please never delete this. I want it in my life forever.
Me too!!!!! Here again 03/01/2024!!!!!!
I feel exactly the same way. Goosebumps...
Been coming back to this video every so often for 10+ years; it still just pauses my life for a few minutes of flawlessness.
I find myself coming back to this cover year after year. I'm so thankful this moment in time was captured. Thank you both.
Not many voices can pierce your soul. her voice Does.
On youtube for 10 years now but still the best cover song I have ever heard.
That’s for real! 🙌🏼
She is fantastic, but Sound Of Silence by Disturbed is my favorite.
It isnt any more a ‘cover’ than Cohen’s
Not necessarily a “Cover”…i wrote this, not Cohen or his crew…
@@wlgj1341man I'm sorry for you.get help, that's really weird you understand how old the song is right???
I’m gonna keep coming back. forever a classic and my favorite version.
This is the best cover of Hallelujah I've ever found and I've searched for years. In my opinion this song hits the hardest when it's sung by a woman with a powerful voice like yours. Just brilliant ❤
It is heartfelt
I Agree!!!
I agree
You need to listen to the Small Town Titans version. It’s the best one ever.
Leann rides is best
I wish I could fill your heart with joy just to repay you for the privilege of listening to this miracle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, guys. Long days and pleasant nights.
For many years I always felt like this song had great potential to be incredibly powerful and beautiful, but despite listening to any and all covers I could find I never found any which truly lived up to the potential I felt the song had. They always fell short in some aspect or another. That is, until I found this cover, which to this day remains my all-time favorite version of Hallelujah. It's just PERFECT. Thank you so much for this rendition, it has touched me deeply and been a comfort in some of my bleakest moments!
That girl can sing PERIOD ❤
2020 and I still come back to this version everytime I want to hear this song. This has been my favorite for a long time now.
never gets old. BEAUTIFUL
Fantastic job. You hit every part without overdoing it. So many people make the mistake of throwing way too much at this song; changing or adding timing, tempos, harmonies, orchestras... all the extras blow the depth and breadth of what the song already is. You and Jeff Buckley are the only 2 artists who ever covered this song who gets that. Well done. Thank you.
This version blows me away every time I watch it. Thanks!
I still come back to this ❤️
If I said I watched it 50 times, I would be shorting the actual number. This is the best version of Hallelujah I have ever heard. That is saying a lot
I'm well over a couple hundred listens. Pure beauty.
Simply put, the voice of an angel! I've seriously listened to this so many times.
I listen to this song every night when I lay down for sleep and every time tears roll down my cheeks. In these days of pure insanity and absolute madness, the beauty that comes through this young ladies voice is life saving to keep my spirits up and have faith in the beauty of humanity. I just want to thank you both.
WELL WELL SAID!!!
Same! She is right up there with Rufus Wainright and Jeff Buckley, my other favorites. And the guitar sings it’s own song. God’s rich blessing to both of these young people.
@@peggydeffley2194 I still listen most every night and still moved by this beautiful performance. Found a couple more I really like, search IMAJ - Hallelujah and Aleluia (Hallelujah) em tres idiomas. Both sang in several languages. Funny, I'm not the biggest fan of the song per se, but the singing performances, and the great guitar are powerful in its raw beauty. Take care and chin up!
Hope you are well and not as teary 👍
I so agree this rendition brings tears to my eyes. You said it so well.
Wow. Just wow. She can sing. Really sing. Beautiful. Loved every moment of this.
The beauty of this woman's voice literally brought me to tears
Covers of this song are a dime a dozen and it's really tough to stand out with this one. However, this is a very special performance and there's an energy there that is pure. Gorgeous, guys. Really.
Ten Second Songs Look up Puddles Pity Partys version of the song its amazing.
well said
Hi
+Ten Second Songs ...Yes, there are hundreds of covers of this song... but is a chance for someone to be heard when they do this song, because someone WILL click on it. Most reasonable people enjoy Cohan, and this song in particular. Skeye does a great job, and the guitar accompaniment is really noteworthy. Good job.
I think I like Alyssa Trahan's version better, of the new kids on the block. But, that's just me. Both are worth listening to.
However, if you want to have your socks knocked off with this song, check out the a capella version by Jackie Evancho and Peter Hollens. If that doesn't impress you, nothing will.
hmmm speechless
Yesterday I saw my ex wife with her boyfriend for the first time. I still love her...we used to listen to this song together and she showed me this video...this song always makes me feel like we're together again. Lame as it sounds... I miss my best friend.
You posted this so long ago, I wonder if you will get this reply. There is nothing lame about feeling a connection to a past loved one. It’s actually a precious gift to remember someone so fondly after so many years - and moreso when it’s a connection that failed, but still means something to you.
God bless you!
You sir are class....class,class,class....if you love something set it free if it comes back to you it's yours forever, if it doesn't it never was
You are experiencing life. It is what all the love songs are about. Be strong, my friend. Love will come again.
this only means you know how to love someone....
Heart touching I lost the love of my life going on 2 yrs...i miss him every minute..cant wait to join him Hallugheliah
prayers Mary. I hope you're doing well 🫶🏻
2021. Still the best rendition ever...
I still get goosebumps every time I listen to this version.
Aaaah ... no autotune, no sequencers, no gimmicks.... what a relief from the normal stuff we’ve been fed on the radio!
Oh my goodness this amazing girl still brings tears to my eyes even after so many views of this video. This is the perfect rendition of this song.
Best version of this song I've ever heard.
I've heard alot of people sing this song but this verson and this girl win hands down. Beautiful performance. I love that she is simple clear and neat in her singing. Others feel the need to throw their voices around and it just becomes annoying.
Originally posted 9 years ago!!! Wish they would do it again just to hear her voice now.
I swear the 1 million views was all from just me, lol. I seriously come back to this video many times a week. Its calming, beautiful, and just nice to listen to. I also love how she throws her head back during the chorus ;) lol
Absolutely the best version I have ever heard
Half a million was me lol
God bless
me too... how can we own this album?
At least 50 of them are mine 😊
Same. I watch this all the time!!
I'm left almost speechless with tears in my eyes. It takes an incredible amount of talent and soul to impress me and you two, man, you two are absolutely amazing.
indeed - i'm thinking oh yeah another Hallelujah cover - then the shivers started and 4 mins or so in the eyes might have got a wee bit moist :-)
I'm glad this wonderful "stairwell to heaven" version of hallelujah is still getting positive regards . . .
man that guitar is fantastic the same as the ladies voice,,,,thank you both,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Best version of this classic by a country mile. Thanks.
This has been covered by way too many amateurs on CZcams and I've probably waded through 200 of them. This is hands down the best one there will ever be. The adjective for that voice does not exist.
Ditto
Perfect
good, better, best.... BEST i have ever heard.... exquisite tone, pitch, phrasing and delivery... thank you for this joyful exprience
damn!!!!
I was thinking angelic, that's all I got
I've listened to 75 covers of this song. Yours is my favorite. Perfection.
The best version of this song. The power in her voice is mesmerising.
This is my favorite version of Hallelujah. It gets better every time I hear it.
I can't stop watching this.
Thanks for watching Tim :)
Vektormusic honestly, I can't stop watching this, it's beyond beautiful. I would honestly like to known the name/be in touch with the artist, because the moment I have money to spare I would like it to contribute to this women getting time in a professional recording studio

Vektormusic
The artistry of both the singer and the guitarist are phenomenal.
Incredible voice. I'm a fan of the original song by Leonard Cohen and many covers have been done and embarrassed the song. This is not one of those embarrassments. This is gorgeous.
Myst Ery 8
Cohens was a cover
@@wlgj1341- Huh?
Never heard a more beautiful cover of this, I hope you are still making music, together or not, your voice is beautiful and Angelic
If I lived in an apartment there, I'd love to hear them in the stairwell. I'd stop doing whatever I'm doing and just sit, listen, and appreciate their beautiful talent. This version brings me to tears. Easily my favorite cover of this song.
On the day of Leonard Cohen's death, I came back to my favorite cover of his song ever. I think you two have done it better than anyone ever......
Rob Fletcher agreed in my opinion !!!!
Extremely well said, thank you
You have made this atheist, tough guy cry like a little puppy. What a masterful performance by a powerful woman. What a wonderful artist. Thank you, Maestra.
I love this duo. So cute together, so angelic and I much appreciate her beautiful voice!
People are just talking about the girl... What about the guy?! Amazing talent... Wow! Well played
James Jaly couldn't agree more
Agreed! They are both amazing.
STUNNING DUET. Tears or you are dead inside
@James Baker who cares that you or anybody can do it, only thing that matters here is that he did it and it was amazing so please, l beg you not to ruin this comment
Thank you
I am a mid range player, he did nothing special, trust me, easy to be good with a voice like that.
There’s plenty of covers of this by some really good singers! With all the bell’s whistles..but this cover flat out tops them all grit and soul In this one just pours out
Only the best ever cover, done with real feeling beautiful
Next to Jeff Buckley's, the best cover of this song I've heard, and there are many. Really captures the feeling.
I listen to this at least once a week.
This is the best cover of Leonard's "Hallelujah" that I have listened to. She is a wonderful talent; passionate & emotional. His guitar is excellent, as well.
So many folks have covered this & most of them, to me, are tedious & dull.
Stair wells have the best Acoustics
And bathrooms.
This is the stairway to heaven.
So do confessionals😅😅😅😅😂😂
are you kidding me , what a voice, and talented guitarist behind her. right before my bed time. thank you.
Beautiful, you can't go wrong singing to the Lord, I pray and hope God blesses the both of you through His son Jesus Christ
My favorite version of this song
best version of this song
This young lady sings with a voice of an Angel.I think perhaps shes been there voice, makes it so beautiful.I loved it.You two make a wonderful couple not to mention the talent.Angelic.
203 Thumbs Down??? What, are people hitting the wrong button by mistake? This version is incredible. Big thumbs up! Thanks for sharing.
They are deaf.
Stephen Carpenteri ...and dumb.
And stupid
CZcams does that ... algorithm?
Hit and run to the next thumbs down. They probably sleep well with that feeling of accomplishment for a days work.
This is the best cover you have never heard of…❤
I didn't know Pam Beesley could sing?! But seriously. This is hands down the best cover.
In my opinion, the is much very right about this version - in a stairwell with soaring vocals and that understated, crystal clear electric guitar. Thank you.
Hello hearing this actually made me cry a lot due to the memory of my grandpa that passed away this year from cancer and I sang this song for him when he was dieing and it Is the memories that hurt me the most so I am going to sing this song and hopefully I don't cry while I sing it
No one could possibly sing this song better. She has the voice of an angel
I agree
And the face of one
she sings in a fucking stairway.
Not the most polished musicians to perform this cover but without a doubt my favorite version. She starts with a certain fragility, but soon transforms into an extraordinary confidence which is radiantly authentic, and it rattles my soul. Combine that with the bare bones production of single guitar that is played perfectly for her vocal expression and a stairwell as the studio, and it's no longer just a song, it's an experience.
Stunning rendition
I can’t believe. Even after more than 30 plays this has to be one of the most beautiful covers!! I wish this was famous!! All day
Best cover of this song ever, IMHO.
I listen to it quite a bit.
Damn, so sad about Leonard Cohen . Rest In Peace.
We all miss him here in Montreal. But at least his music lives on through his own recordings and covers like this one.
Beautiful woman. Beautiful man. great player. Very rare quality to her voice. Great control. Beautiful song....girl....music. I'm in LOVE.
Exactly the control is immaculate!
I come back and listen to this song every now and then; it's the best version of Hallelujah that has ever been sung. I only wish I could give her another thumbs up every time I visit...
People be like: That was beautiful, but now I'd like to go downstairs...
😂
lmfao
Levente Molnár ha

Levente Molnár c
10 years ! Nostalgia hit, still one of the best covers and this deserves a lot more views!
I've watched it probably 100 times. 😂I love them, best version ever.
I am so glad I listened to this performance, truly beautiful.
What can I say...WOW!!!!
Still my favorite cover ever. Her voice is beautiful. They vibe together in perfect harmony.
I love this girl's voice. And she kind of looks like Pam Beesly. So cute.
Pam HALPERT!
YES!
Your cover is the BEST ever. Leonard Cohen for sure sits and cries in Heaven as he listens to this PERFECT guitar, sooo connected to your heavenly voice. Keep it up.
Still my favorite cover of this song
You know when you hear something for the first time and it just amazes you......you play it again, watching their faves the emotion and you feel every note of the song, almost spiritually. I envy every person who has yet to hear this rendition for the first time and the awe they will feel. I love everything about this rendition......the awkward give and take of glances exchanged between them, that they are in a stairwell, her voice, him.
This is the best voice this girl's done on all her songs except for another one these two are excellent on this song God bless them
Gives me chills....wow
Incredible.
This is the best version ever made.
xShadow... as beautiful as this (and she) is... Jeff Buckley.
I Agree!! many have covered this and some very well....buy this is absolutely Beautiful Lenard Cohen would be Pleased and Touched by Skye's version....much Love........
Sadie Shadows 💕
I Rosencrantz idk... this is the next best cover. She damn near and tops Jeffs version. If anything it's equal holding hands and she's leading...
I'm pretty sure hearing this cover has saved my life. I don't mean that in a cheesy "omg, this is so great" way. Yes, it's amazing. Beautiful. Haunting. Amazing. But it's given me hope on so many different levels. Thanks for doing this. You've changed someones life.
Haunting was the exact description I was thinking in my head
AWESOME DUET.
I heard this girl and this song. And then I wished so badly to feel her hallelujah, the passion and not just the brokenness. Then a year or so later I loved him. For the first time, I could feel that holy godhood that love encompasses and every breath I drew was hallelujah. (We, I hoped, breathed) Both of us had seen the flags and walked the floor, got trampled in the victory march, and never thought we'd find her hallelujah. My head swam with hallelujah the morning after, dizzy for him. it sounds like her. It sounds like her. I waited, baited breath, ready for the fall, but still all I hear is hallelujah. This is a precious, precious thing. His melody keeps her in time. Something underneath the eyes, not to be underwritten. Something like balance. She gave me this name for a thing I never knew. I would love to thank her. But how can you thank the moon?
My last comment said it was 2 years ago but it's now 7 I still haven't heard anyone I love to listen to more in the last 15 years
what happened to these guys! no activity on their channel for 4 years?! what!
So, so beautiful!!
I listen to this whenever I need a soul lift.
Still the best cover
I saw this version years ago and I had to find it again, young women are surely God's vessels here on earth,, this woman sings like the wind in the mountain pines,,,,,,
Girl, I dunno what power you channeled, but holy shit, your tone is unlocking grief I've been too afraid "to let the dam break". This isn't just art. This is medicine. 🤍💜🤍💜🤍💜✌️
The casual setting in a stairwell impresses me with its contrast to the message. Were they going for the acoustics it provided? Beautiful, beautiful rendition.
The acoustics in a stair well are quite unique and suit this arrangement perfectly. When you find the right sound you just know. I remember putting a whole drum kit into a bathroom to get the drum sound we wanted once.
I am so moved. I have saved this for years. He came to pay a debt he didn't owe becaus wave a debt we can not pay. I love Jesus so much.
Best version I've ever heard. just beautifu.l
Who is this Angel singing
Your voice is so beautiful
I've listened to this a hundred times. How Does one not like it.
This is by far my favorite version of this song, and I heard it for the first time 8+ years ago, and it's still my #1... absolutely beautiful!!! Such a beautiful voice and so much feeling behind it!
