Love your excitement when you see the light
New Zealand is so beautiful and diverse. Great way to get out and scout and enjoy your backyard
Cheers!
Thanks a lot mate :)
Mannnn having a boat is the ultimate feeling of freedom eh! Beautiful stuff! By land, air and now sea! Everything covered 😁
Haha exactly, gotta hit this place from every possible angle. Look forward to sharing new work soonish 😊🙏🏻
That's one hum dinger of a back yard! Endless opportunities out the back door, great for the kids too.
You are living the life I always wanted. I was fortunate enough to backpack both the Nth & Sth islands in NZ way back in late 90s. Two things I learnt: 1. NZ is THE best country in the world. You have everything in a condensed country. 2. It also home to THE nicest people. My only regret being that I wasn't so much in to photography then as I am now. I'd love to be in a position to re-visit the place again to capture the absolute beauty of the place.
How good is that!!!! That boat was a good move 🙂
More to come! 😅
Great video Will, I love all the options that you give for shooting on a stunning day. Some serious multitasking in driving, videoing and photographing at the same time. Another option that I've taken is to Infrared when the days are clear, the harsh shadows and light is perfect for it.
Thanks again mate. Yeah I’d love to convert one of my bodies to IR for sure! Definitely opens up new possibilities:)
Love the boat... brings a whole new level of perspective, and freedom... eh! Great topic and thanks for sharing your insight! 🫶. Also, in your recent Composition Masterclass... you mention Marc Adamus... thanks so much for sharing that and all the wisdom you impart in the class! Enjoying it immensely! 🙏
My absolute pleasure mate. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Lovely shots mate 🤙🏼🔆
Thanks brother 💪🏼🙏🏻
thanks for sharing your work. I'm new to photography & these videos are very educational, thx man
My pleasure mate thank you
Thanks William for giving me more courage to shoot towards the sun and eliminating the sky that way, awesome example of creating Layers in your images.
What a great part of the world, we once enjoyed a sail boat cruise in Milford Sound with mist and rain, the atmosphere was incredible. Must get back. Have a great week.
Beautiful images. Talk about multitasking.....controlling a boat, filming yourself and taking the shot. A most enjoyable watch.
Thanks mate, felt like I had my hands full that’s for sure 😂🙏🏻
Some beautiful photos there, especially the layered ones at the end... calm and dreamy.
Thank you!! 💚
Living the dream….through you 😂 bloody awesome stuff mate
lol thanks man!
Wonderful video! Thank you souch for sharing. I went out the other day in my own local landscape to get some photos and make a video and it's just so great seeing your own backyard with fresh, playful eyes!
Really glad to hear. Thank you! :)
Feels amazing to just go out, be in nature and capture amazing photos. Cheers mate!
Thanks! 🙏🏻😊
Maybe this is how I convince my husband to move to NZ. He can have a boat. That then I would also learn to drive!
😂💚
Thanks for that little Sunday Photo inspiration.. Greetings from Germany
Thank you too!
Beautiful. :)
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful 🙏🤘📸
Thank you 🙌
Great video Will. Stunning work as always
Thanks a lot mate
Mate your adventure vlogs are such a vibe, so nice to see you explore, take pictures and enjoy life. Great vibes, great photos, great tips, great philosophy. Cheers from Québec, Canada!
You're a legend mate, thank you!
well done 👍🏻
This makes me want to break out the 100-400. I always bring it (RIP me because of the weight) but I don’t always use it. They always do justice to epic mountains.
Cheers!
It’s a great tool to have for sure 👊🏻
Good luck!
I need to buy a boat 😊 ur so lucky to be living in this area. That would be a dream come true for me.
Greetings from Canada, I really enjoy your videos keep them coming!
Thanks a lot!
Beeeeaaaautifully done, Will! Hahaha, totally understand the usual need for atmosphere - just got stuck with bluebird skies for two weeks straight on Vancouver Island here, had to make do with it, but in the end it actually really made a fun challenge to see and capture things differently without planned expectations. Still lots of gold to be discovered on these sunny days! 😍
Also now I want a boat.
Haha! It looks so nice out there, kinda similar to here. Definitely nice to try and work with the clear skies and create images with a different feeling and colour palette. Look forward to seeing what you create !
Great video Will. Great examples of layering and separation with the light. Very inspirational. BTW what were you trolling for?
Thank you! Trout, mainly rainbow :)
Wow wow wow
Man !! I need to move back to NZ 😍 keep the videos coming Will, love them.
Cheers man!
Great stuff. Te Anau is my favorite place in New Zealand
Me too 😅🤪🙏🏻
Love your videos and have learned a lot! Do you use ND filters at all? You were saying you wanted to capture some of the detail etc from the water but not get to much of that bright sun. Would a ND help with that?
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌

How do you handle color banding, especially with clear colorful skies, when editing in Lightroom?
That use to be much worse for me when I had an older canon back in the day. I notice it much now. You need to go wash on the highlight recovery, if you pull those down too far I think that’s what shows the banding because you’ve removed the natural gradient of light.
@@WilliamPatinoPhotography Yeah, that's what I thought. I do notice that it smooths out once I apply positive highlights or just brighten up. Thanks!
Dude whattt? Now on a boat? What’s next, a parachute?
hopefully not 😅😂
