    I was considering this to replace my htps7000 and avs2000 from monster into one single unit but I have a hard time believing the panamax can regulate voltage as well as the much bigger and heavier avs2000.
    At what voltage does the 5400 begins to regulate? Plus I have 3 subs

    How important is it to have voltage regulation on Panamax 5400 compare to Panamax5300 no voltage regulation but a lot cheaper? Thanks

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 2 lety

      It is a big part of what makes higher power management what it is. Big voltage swings can be audible.

    Has there been any testing on this unit as far as actual EMI reduction ?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 9 měsíci

      Hello David, we believe so. Panamax' website shows a fairly detailed specs page; panamax.com/product/max-5400-power-management-w-voltage-regulation-2ru-11-outlets/. The product carries the CSA-us government test and certification listing, so it has undergone a pretty rigorous set of tests by an independent party. You may want to contact Panamax for further input

    If I used this with a generator that outputs a modified sinewave, will this unit clean the power to make it a PURE sinewave?

    Ca this be used with a Fender Blues Deville and a Marshall ?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for asking Tom, yes it can, but this unit has one high-current socket, not two. So one of your Marshall and Fender amps can be connected there. If you use both amps at once, another product with multiple high-current outlets might be better for you

  • @lesterleonard8750
    @lesterleonard8750 Před rokem

    I own one and I want to know if over time do this unit lose the ability to protect your equipment?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi Lester, no - although you may get hit by a big power surge or lightning strike. If so, your Panamax monitors the situation, and throws a switch to protect your gear, then re-sets when levels are safe. If you are hit by a really major strike, the unit can "sacrifice" itself. The MOV's will blow, but don't pass that current on to your system. You'll have to replace the power conditioner, but the rest of your gear is protected

  • @THEHULK209
    @THEHULK209 Před 2 lety

    So I have a 1,400 watt amp and also 2 Svs sb ultra 16s which are 1,500watts peak each one. Would I have to buy two of these? Or it wouldn’t work for my system?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 2 lety +1

      It is extremely unlikely that any part of your system will ever actually hit those peaks. Most of us almost never use more than 100 watts per amplifier if even that. "Normal" music listening levels or volume set to around -20db (on most preamps) or even a little more often don't even use more than 10 watts. Now those numbers on the spec sheet are true, however what they are really used for is marketing.

      I’ve got a Denon X6400h, Sony 75” tv, SVS PB16 ultra, Xbox One X, cable box, Apple TV and watch on -15db in most situations and never had an issue. Even watching at 0db where everything in the house is moving and it’s never had an issue keeping up.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Před 2 lety

      I can understand feeling that way about the conditioning aspect especially if you already have relatively clean power at home, but the voltage regulation and surge protection is worthwhile all on it's own.
