great choice of woofer.you know what you are about.
first one finished of 15mm birch plywood with tongue and groove connection. the other 7 will be done next week.
Bel lavoro. Non propriamente un "sub", ma magari un "basso" poiché con quel componente sotto i 50 Hz scende inesorabilmente di efficienza... Ma per "pa" è sicuramente più indicato di un gommone accordato a 30 Hz. :)
Horns work at 1/4 wave length. Horns can work at 1/2 wave length but what you gain from it isnt worh the extra box size. Also it depends on the speaker how long or short the horn needs to be to resonate at low frequencies. Big heavy speakers can have shorter horns becasue they have a lower FS. A 24" long horn would have a low cutoff freq below 10 hz. Look up the TubaHT, its horn is 12" long and it will play flat below 20 hz.
Most things only need 1/4 wave. Look at radio antennas.

but i´m looking forward to test 8 ones, amped by 2 big 3 HE Proline amps, with very much
power and drive in bass. playing together with 2 nice 12"/2" hornloaded tops. everythign driven by a nice controller. i will upload a video, when the subs are finished,
can finish them in one week, when the tests for this semester are done.

@zubatia of course a reflex box goes lower, but the the bass is less precise.
the sound of a good horn sub is such musically and dry, you can only imagine.
much better, than a reflex or bandpass bin.

how many whole sheets need for a pair of mth30, have you estimated if it eats more than one sheet for a pair

i get green in my face, when i see car hifi.
the efficiency is terrible, die bass is very slow, caused by very heavy diaphragm.
i think thats no true sound. thats only loud but not music i think. sry

@zubatia With the MTH-30 scaled down it will go louder but not lower ;)
i think only one mth-30 doesn´t make much sense,
4 of them together do fit the bill.
at the moment i´m building 8 of them,
i guess thats gonna be funny.

Serve per ridurre le riflessioni, ovvero delle risonanze fastidiose causate dal rimbalzo delle onde sui pannelli.. Non ne va messo troppo però ;)

costs 124euro, very cheap i think for it´s quality. very much pressure.

That's like asking; "Have you ever tried to breath under water in the real world?" You can't argue with the science of acoustics. A horn loaded speaker would have to be approx 24 ft long to reproduce a 50hz sound wave, or 12 ft for 100hz and 6 ft for a 200hz sound wave, regardless of driver parameters. So given the length and square mouth area of the horn in question, you are probably hearing 250 - 300hz. Small rooms fool the ear you are hearing much lower, but you aren't, it's acoustic illusion

выкинь RCF это одноразовые динамики лучше JBL или sound industru лично у меня 3 динамика просто умирали. то клей лопается и отпадает то контакты которые под колпаком переламываются то обмотка горит динамики RCF наверное самые неуклюжие динамики которые я видел!!
