From growing up in South London to the multiple unsuccessful trials and plans to give up playing, I signed my first professional contract with Crystal Palace a few months before my 22nd birthday. In 1991 I signed for Arsenal Football Club where I scored 185 goals in 288 appearances. I went on to play 581 league games, scoring 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland, earning 33 caps for the English national team.
I am now fortunate enough to have a football broadcast career working for the BBC & ITV.

Know how you feel, I'm a Gooner but had a lot of Palace fans as mates (even went to the FA Cup final replay in 1990) and just thought Wrighty was brilliant and loved his attitude and persona.

A supporter is one who stands by their team, players, and manager through all times, good bad and indifferent. Mikel has taken on the job of rebuilding the club, this will take some time. Thank you Mikel for having the strength and courage to take on such a responsibility. I will always be a supporter regardless of results for I see the bigger picture.
He's a fraud who shouldn't have gotten the job in the first place. Support the team for 90 minutes when they play. Before and after that you need to do what is best for the club. I know being 15th in the table isn't good for the club.

Only reason anyone might even have the slightest respect for us anymore in recent times is cos of Ian, he hasn't gone to other teams for different roles and didn't even go back to Palace, and he's stuck with us trough thick and thin always letting he's opinions known and nobody can even chat back to him. Ian as a teanager, you were like a god to me, the amount of times I watched you and knew that all we had to do is get you the ball and you would score. As soon as it was one nil to the Arsenal it was game over and either three points or on our way to another trophy.
Things change in football and things are cyclical i am old enough to remember the hard times of Don Howe and Terry Neil, so I understand no side has a divine right for success.
Ian please help us and use your influence and speak to other ex players and the likes of David Dein to try and tell the media what is happening, and how things need to change, I always thought things in the background weren't helping Arsene with recruitment and the progress of the club and this is now come home to roost, and its a shame that the likes of Willock, AMN dont have players like Vieira, Bergkamp and yourself on the training ground and on the pitch to help them as they learn to be first team players.
Ian i understand that you have to protect your position and be respectful to people who are trying there best but the club needs help as do the fans so we can get back to where we belong as a club and show why the Arsenal is the greatest team the world has ever seen.
I guess you won't ever see this but i thought it was worth a try.
