I own a E46 B3 Alpina that I have done a lot of work on but life got in the way about 3 years ago & I haven't touched it since, this is just the inspiration I need to get it finished, thanks chaps.
Chris working in a shirt reminds me of my grandad, top hgv mechanic always wore a shirt whilst at work, you never know when you maybe pulled away for an emergency pint.
Part of the attraction of the channel is not knowing what to expect when it comes to which vehicle you will be working on. Success as always guys. Great car..
I agree, though sometimes when there's a gap I find it difficult to remember the car In question, as soon as the clip of the car being dragged out of the driveway was played it all fell into place

When jumping an E39 you should connect it under the bonnet not in the boot. The jump connections are under the bonnet so that they are as close as possible to a. the starter and b. the electronics.
There is also another sender unit in the left-hand lobe of the fuel tank (the fuel tank straddles the prop shaft).
That smile when Chris says, shall we see if it turns on the key, classic.
Just a few months into following you guys, and I can say I am not bothered which order the videos come out in.

You guys should invest in an endoscope. You could have looked inside the tank of this car and inside the engine of the Range Rover (or was it a Land Rover) to see if it was damaged without pulling the head off it. It will save you so much time and they aren't that dear anymore.

These old Aplinas are awesome. My old boss had one. Goes like a bomb. For its size at the time it was hell of a car. I’d still love one today.
Im sure chris has a leaf blower somewhere. Dead handy and satisfying for blowing all the rubbish, spiders/cobwebs out of scuttle panels, door shuts and engine bay before starting work if you get one like this again!

Rob & Chris, as a fellow content creator, I know where you're coming from. I make my videos in a similar way. I usually concentrate on a specific job on any given car (not always one of my own). That Alpina is crying out for a good clean. It is worth saving due to the rarity alone.
Seeing this brings an instant smile to my face. I love my E39, but the Alpina version is top notch.

Be sure to check the fuel lines, especiallythe ones coming into the engine bay and rubber lines. the stuff used in this era was bio degradeble. Also some wax oil in the sills. Can't wait for more of this.
