So strange to me how laptop prices in america are sometimes 400$ cheaper than in europe. THe same model costs 1984 euros to me..
Literally 1984
My guess is Nvidia is America' company, and dell is also America's company, so.... there is no customs clearance for the product
And like 800-900€ more in my non-EU country, at least
Not just laptops. Almost all electronics are more expensive in Europe than America. I think it is mostly a marketing scheme rather than "justing for the market." It could also be when you buy certain electronics they are currently here in the U.S. the. Needs to be shipped so they are adjusting for the cost
@@jaandeleon4204 nvm i found out we pay tremendous amounts of tax.
I got a very bad experience with Alienware. Make sure your Alienware M16 does not get stuttered when watching youTube videos. So just check it carefully!! Especially with mute and unmute button may cause video stuttering. I think the problem is from the mainboard.
would you recommend buying Alienware m16 r2 ?
@@nikhilrmahi I would recommend you waiting for the next generation. Don't buy gaming laptop in 2024. Or if you want to buy it, please wait untill it is on sale at least $300
Would be a nice extra or a little bit more helpful to know the SD card version for speeds and also the same for the ethernet port is it typical one gig or has it been upgraded to the new 2.5 gig?
alien laptop always more enpensive thought, you should compare the price also with legion pro for complete comparasion
Would you prefer this over legion 7 Pro?
*Alienware hate is real😭*
Why?
Having no numpad is a 3d artist's worst nightmare
omg that revised rear is so obvious despite the tree hugging logo hide.
320 nits. This is not much :(
When are you gonna review legion 7i nonpro? I’m here waiting for it!
Hello, I'm currently a Lenovo user, I have a Legion 5i Core i7 10th gen, 16 gb ram, Nvidia RTX 2060; bought on 2021 and I want to change my laptop, mostly because I had an issue when whenever I close my laptop and open it again, it's like it just get in a dark screen and doesn't respond and I have to keep pressing the on button to reset it, is so stressful. And I am looking for this alienware m16 r2 and the asus rog strix g16, I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks for the review, I recently purchased this laptop due to the build quality is amazing, the 300 nits does not bother me as much because for the most part I am using this inside and not outside. IMO you cannot see a difference between this and a laptop that offers a 400nits+.
Can you please tell about the thermals and fan noise
@@badalsaibo my honest opinion, in game play its just as loud as any other gaming rig. I have a cooling mat and I've been playing on balance and it's been performing like butter and it's not loud at all.
While on work mode, when I switch off to stealth mode it's quiet and believe it or not not warm at all. In my opinion this far the most overall amazing gaming/work PC.
The M16 is more comparable to the Yoga Pro 9i in terms of specs, IMO. But on a side note, from your experience, does an upgrade from the RTX 4060 to RTX 4070 result in a significant performance increase in Blender and Resolve if everything else is identical? Also, is i9 really need? Or will i7 suffice for most use cases?
i7 is enough for most if not all use cases, upgrading to i9 would only be incremental at best, on the other hand 4060 to 4070 would be rather noticeable around 20-30% performance increase
I've heard it's actually more like 10-15% difference based off the reviews I've seen.
@@jacjankowski6180 yep it all depends on what you're doing.
Can someone help would you recommend Alienware M16 Ultra 7/ RTX 4070 or Legion Pro 13th Gen i7/ Rtx 4070?
I just purchased the M16 Ultra 7 4070 and have zero regrets. Amazing battery life when using it on productivity mode.
This would have 100% been my laptop if it wasn’t for the screen. I really wanted a mini led or oled option
Which is the best laptop in your opinion
Why subject yourself to burn with oled?
Just bought the 4070 variant for 1299.99 US.
I can buy the Lenovo 7i for 15-17 hundred on Lenovo with a 4070, 32gb ram, and 14th gen i9..... Just wish they sold the white edition because if I want white I have to pay more through other retailers.
Is this laptop going to run 3D and design software well? Need to buy a laptop for my daughter in college who is an interior architect student but shes a gamer too and leaving her desktop set up at home. Want a laptop that can fulfill both needs.
Hello. Gaming laptops with a decent graphics card and the proper amount of RAM should be able to handle 3D design.
BENNNNN need help!!! would you recommend Alienware M16 Ultra 7/ RTX 4070 or Legion Pro 13th Gen i7/ Rtx 4070?
Alienware m16 r2
What's the material under the soft touch coating? At least i assume it's a coating
Plastic
@@azhaanimran3823its aluminium
don't know why u covering it up could already tell from the thumbnail it was the Alienware
Hi Ben,
I hope you to help me to make the right choice before i get my new laptop For content creation, 3D softwares (3dsmax and heavy renderer like Lumion and Unreal Engine) and some gaming for aure .
There is 4 options that I'm consider about :
1 - Legion 5 15ach6h (Ryzen 7 5800h /RTX 3070 /FHD 165Hz)... For 1200$
2 - *Amazon renewed*Aorus 17(Core i7 12700h "DDR4" /RTX 3070Ti /FHD 360Hz)... For 1100$
3- ROG strix G15 Advantage edition (Ryzen 9 5980hx /Rx 6800m / WQHD 165Hz)... For 1200 $
4- Triton 300 SE 14 (Core i7 12700h "DDR5" / RTX 3060/ WUXGA 165Hz)... FOR 1050$
I'm in Dubai and those the best options i found at this price.
Are you talking about the Legion pro or non pro ?
Non pro version@@VAMPS000
Just a heads up, the Dell direct link doesn't work; both links send you to best buy!
Thanks!
@3:35 Soft touch plastic = Sticky Gooey mess of glue after a few years.
Can't believe manufacturers still use this material. It's criminal, really...
I did not of that experience with my 2017 Dell XPS 15. To this day it has held up without that issue.
@@BenGKaiser Thanks for sharing, Ben. Not sure if this goes the other way for bigger gadget like laptops, but for all tech with smooth velvet-y plastic- it becomes sticky goo after a couple of years. You gotta wipe it off with alcohol and towels
@eladbari I think it depends on the quality of the soft touch plastic because on my alienware 15 r3 it's still in like new condition, but again, it could be how it's been maintained too
how much of it in Canada?
To be honest, I’m sure it’s a solid laptop (performance wise) but I just can’t get over the design. 😆 🤦🏻♂️
Nice laptop
I will never buy a laptop with an asymetric placed trackpad...
Oh that's an excuse to show ur biceps... not complaining tho
I have the Alienware M18 R2 for a replacement desktop. It works great but I had to uninstall and reinstall the Alienware command center. I also got the mouse and headset and together it is a very nice set.
The Unlienware

what's wrong with LCD?
@@TheSonoranSniper it's dogsht compared to OLED.
