Her child is trans, she wants them not to be, but that's not the case. She has a transgender child, and she's trying to raise them cisgender. You don't choose how your children will be or are, if you can't accept all possibilities then you shouldn't be a parent. Its not a child's responsibility to be who their parents want them to be. And please stop comparing sexuality and gender identity to drug addiction or other wild things. Addiction is much different then how someone identifies and feels they are as well as how they chose to express themselves. If you can't accept your child being gay, trans, an artist instead of a football player, an introvert instead of an extrovert, and so on, you are not being a compassionate and open minded parent. Put their happiness over your own internalized judgements.

It’s not your life, she isn’t affecting anybody nor is she harming anyone, so why? She’s just trying to live her life and her mom is just hurting her so bad mentally. As a Non-Binary person, I’ve seen homophobia and transphobia online and I’ve experienced it. It’s not fun at all and I genuinely feel really horrible for this woman. As long as she’s happy, I say just stop speaking to the mother tbh. If she’s just mentally harming you, exhausting you etc then just go. She’s obviously not gonna change her beliefs and that’s fine, there’s many people like her who will never change so you have to accept that and just move on.
It’s because they worry about what others have to say instead of their child happiness.
I rather have my child happy and free than stuck and not being themselves.

The mother is taking control and speaking over her daughter just because she’s scared to hear the truth of the situation, that the daughter is her own person and nothing the mother “disagrees” with can change that. Incredibly frustrating to watch but so proud of this beautiful young woman for feeling whole and validated all on her own.
When I was in the hospital and asked my professor about a patient who was "trans women" and how we should approach him and he said doesn't matter what he thinks he is he is a male doesn't matter of how much hormones and chemicals he take he will still be a male and we will treat him as a male that's it if we give him female treatment he will probably die so you can't magically change your gender.
