People are so inconsiderate these days.
Garbage pickup is something I charged extra for. #1 reason: I'm there to cut grass, not pick up their customers and publics trash. #2 insurance reasons. If I did miss something and hit it with the mower, I will be mad.
There's some places that can't get companies to cut because of the litter problems. Now they have cameras that send the police your license plate number and you get the ticket for litter.
Oh and.... 100% sure 100% of these places, when you work for them, will say "we must always be clean". Their property reflects that more than inside. If it's dirty outside, you're not getting business. Maybe they should stop scrubbing the toilets every 20 minutes and go pick trash up. We all live here. We all make messes. Pick up after yourself.
I agree if people would just pick up after themselves we wouldn’t be in a much better place. Lazy seems to be the going thing these days

We had a commercial property we picked up trash at and it was part of the price. The employee's wouldn't stop leaving the dumpster open and letting the wind blow out half off the garbage. So we told management that we would no longer pick up trash because of it. We asked repeatedly for them to close the bin but they never did. It'd take 45 minutes to an hour to pick it all up.
Yes some places can get pretty bad. We have been lucky they do a pretty good job at most places.
Nothing beats the place I did back in Tampa that was a charity that fed the homeless. Not only was there trash everywhere, I was constantly running over human feces. Bear in mind there was an alleyway behind the property (we also maintained that area) but the feces was more often than not along the fence line within the parking lot! This area was gated and locked when staff wasn't there. After trying to get management to get that behavior to stop, I stopped servicing them.
Yea that would be a tough location to service. If I gotta wear a hazmat suite I’d have charge a premium lol

I put a gun magnet on the bottom of my trash bucket so I can stick it on the stand on mower out by the front wheel. Best $10 I spent. No more standing on trash while I mow

You must live in a wealthy area to be able to close your business and immediately grow a new one. I’ve spent 5 years trying and I’ve honestly gotten nowhere. I think I’m calling it quits this month so my clients can find someone new before the season starts
Do you have a website or google business or even a Facebook business page? Don’t quit and remember why you started in the first place.
@@PlemonsLawnCare I’ve had all of that. I don’t make any money really so I’ve lost the incentive to continue working. I’m not sure what I’ll do but I’m pretty certain cutting grass isn’t it.
@@colestaples2010 always worth looking into maybe focusing on a certain niche in the green field. Be lighting or irrigation
@@PlemonsLawnCare I would be lucky to find a couple jobs each year. You must live in a metropolitan area, or just a much larger city than I do. Honestly I think I’m completely ruined financially because of all the business debt. I’m in my 40s and have no direction to go

hey man with stripmalls like that you reach out to the property managment or they typically reach out to you? ive got a couple commercial. and the amount of time i have to take to pick trash is crazy. its so sad when its all around a frekin garbage can. people are just crappy.
Most contact us, but we have reached out before if we see a place that doesn’t look to not be maintained. Yes when they put out two full bottles and a trash can us five feet away

@@curbappeallawncarellc4263 they pay on time. All of mine are set on net30. I invoice the first and the first of the next month I’m usually paid give or take a couple of days.
They are all trashy but you have to deal with it!

All this did was remind me why I have limited commercial properties. All of these issues and then they will drop you next season for someone who does it for $5 a week cheaper.
We are fortunate and have serviced this customer for almost 10 years.
