  • PLEASE NOTE: The Woodbridge one piece skirted toilet is fairly heavy and does not have much grip space. I needed to install it in an area 30" wide. This installation video shows some tips to install the toilet into a confined space. It does not show the full installation because there are many videos showing toilet installations. Because the bolt holes are not visible when holding the toilet, you need some way to ensure that the you line up the bolts with the holes. The trick that I used was small 2"x4" blocks to hold the toilet above the bolts so that I could position the bolts into the hidden holes. As you get the toilet positioned over the bolts, you then remove individual blocks and lower the toilet down in a controlled fashion. It worked very well.

So, you don't actually show the installation?

Installation is covered in lots of videos. This was simply attempting to show a technique for one person to install a skirted toilet in a confined space.

Another way to do it is making the cardboard template like you did and placing it in position then with hot glue, temporarily place a couple of 2 by 4 pieces on the perimeter to help guide the toilet in position!!! You’re welcome!!

Nice, I’ve installed two of these in the last month. Toilet holes are hidden inside and no attachments. I use the tape as a reference both on the floor and the toilet, but I gently trace the template on the floor with pencil, and tilt the toilet in from the face. So far 2 no problem.

Maybe the title should be “Tips on how to prep before install” or something? Otherwise these are really good tips!

According to the manufacturer video, you are supposed to use their template to use it as a guide so you drop it in the correct spot so the bolts go through the holes.

How did you tighten the bolts once the toilet was on the floor?

As I recall, the toilet came with a wrench. I had to reach around and tighten the bolt.

@Lineve Ritchie As I recall, one end went on the nut and the other end was like a big key so that you could twist with one hand while reaching around.

@@tomscorner9420 ive installed a couple of them and have had very poor experiences. Im happy for you that your experience has been good but I will not guarantee my work past 90 days with these. The plastic L bracket is a recipe for black water disaster in my opinion

@@twistedpudding the closet bolts attached to 2 nylon L brackets. The toilet screws in from the side to attach to the nylon bracket hence "holding it" to the floor. They stash the hardware in the toilet bowl. When you're pissed off because the screws won't reach, its not you. They are a quarter inch too short to engage. Go to your home center and get 4in stainless screws
