1974 begins with Dame Shirley Bassey's TV special recorded live at Royal Albert Hall in 1973, a German Tour and a 1st appearance at Paris's Champs Elysees Theatre follow. 2 singles, When You Smile and Davy precede a season at Las Vegas Hilton and 4 nights at Carnegie Hall before a tour of Japan.
The release of Nobody Does It Like Me LP, before concerts in Amsterdam and Paris again this time at Pierre Cardin's L'Espace.
A UK tour to great notices and a Japan only Live In Japan LP, help bring the year to a close with another TV special with guest Neil Diamond.
The 3 songs in this edition are I'm Not Anyone, All That Love Went To Waste (Live in Japan 1974) and Nobody Does It Like Me. Best wishes, Carl.
I have been collecting Dame Shirley for over 45 years and have digitised my entire collection by date from newspapers, magazines, photos, programs, sheet music and of course the music.
I hope this series of videos will help tell Dame Shirley's story in a lineal way for fans new and old.
As a child whenever I found a photo of Dame Shirley I would wonder what the story behind the picture was, and I still do. I would cut out news clippings and put together multiple scrapbooks,
then the internet came along and an explosion of knowledge. Now I know some of the stories behind many of the photos and hope you get enjoyment in finding these stories too.
If you have an image from this year that I haven't included, please consider scanning it and sharing it. If you have a newspaper clipping, review or any other item that would expand the story please let me know. Dating items is a tricky process but I have tried as best I can to get the timeline correct.

Been a fan of Shirley Bassey since her UA Record days. Seen many concerts and wish she was still performing. I even have an autographed Shirley Bassey t-shirt from one of her concerts and pink feathers from her beautiful boa. She will always be one of the best singers ever!
