We got gitty with you when they showed Kamino! Really looking forward to what other flashbacks we're going to get to experience with Boba!
It’s so great to have live-action Star Wars back again! I loved the episode! The Kamino and Jango helmet flashbacks hit me right in my prequel loving feels. Showing Boba inside and escaping the Sarlacc was amazing! Loved how they showed some love to the Gamorrean guards too. 2022 is going to be an incredible year for us Star Wars fans!
Yeah Gamorrean Guards have never been shown to be that fierce until now. Nice to show why people keep them as guards.
I dont really know why ur so excited? the live action star wars stuff on d plus thus far has been pretty...mediocre. even this episode was just kinda boring

Jabba's sail barge wasn't smoking anymore, so Boba had to have been down there for a while. Skywalker and company would have been long gone.
I think that creature was some kind of gundark.

Great to see back Skyman! Props to Favreau, Dave, Ludwig, Ming Na Wen, Tem was a Boss, & Robert Rodriguez's directing was awesome.
good review, the monster was a deliberate tribute to ray harryhausen - it was meant to look like that, its clear they have the cgi skills to do it smoother but it was a version of a ray harryhausen creature motion style, the bacta tank was a excellent device to show us past events, excellent creativity, so many subtle easter eggs only star wars sweatys would get - episode 1 a solid 8/10, this is clear been made by people who respect the lore of star wars, not like that drivel of the sequels

I think I noticed something upon rewatching. Everyone is complaining Boba seems weak despite not being in the Sarlacc long.
When he punches through the stomach, he ignites his flamethrower, and we're mostly thinking "ahh he burned it to death". Fair, seems obvious.
However the flame rolls back. Boba, while protected in his armor from burns, was actually "cooking" himself to escape. That level of physical damage means he has not just outward damage to his skin, but he probably endured massive internal damage to his organs as well.

I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan, although I love the Disney + Series', but seeing your smile and love for all of this really makes me happy.

Two greats are back, Boba Fett and Skyman! Awesome first episode setting the scene and a nice juxtaposition between flashbacks and current events. Also Matt Berry voicing the droid was a masterstroke.
Great review! I think the more “clean” look of tatooine is a result of the empire being recently defeated at the time and the Hutts no longer having control over that particular landscape. It’s inhabitants are more upbeat and prosperous.
You can also look at it as, that we've only even really seen the shittier parts of the planet before now. This is just the more "higher class" section where there might be more of an effort to look good and live comfortably made.
Also could be an undercurrent of the story that Bib Fortunate actually ran a pretty tight ship and maybe did things differently than Jabba. Anyone have an estimate of the timeline from when Bib would have taken over to Bobba’s take over?
@@tomesjt05 At a guess I'd say Bib swooped in as soon as he learnt Jabba was dead. So assumedly he ran things for 5 or so years from 4ABY to 9ABY.
Man, I wish there would have been a short scene on Camino, you know, with Clone Troopers and all that. But just seeing the building amidst the waves is better than nothing :)

great video and commentary. I’m excited like you to see the tribulations that Bobby and Fennec will traverse to grasp and maintain power. Can lead to massive underground world and bouts that eventually tie into the larger Star Wars arcs with Resistance/First Order. But happy to see a full season without a single Jedi and just the murky underworld of the Outer Rim! Keep up the videos
The Book Of Boba Fett; Chapter One Breakdown:-
This one-off show highlights what happened to Boba Fett after he fell into that Sarlacc Pitt in “Return Of The Jedi”.
Expecting a sprinkling of guest cameos from other Star Wars characters such as Din Djarin @ The Mandalorian, Omega from The Bad Batch, Ahsoka Tano, etc.
In The Mandalorian; Season 2, we saw Boba fully dressed like a Tusken Raider. Even his choice of weapon is a Gaderffii / Gaffi Stick.
I believe this serial will showcase how he rises through their ranks via flashbacks whilst in the Bacta Tank.
As well as solidifying his position as a self-appointed Crime Lord of Tatooine - replacing Jabba The Hut.
Also, his sidekick: Fennec Shand seems more attuned to Tatooine’s underworld culture.
Boba himself has undergone a morality shift - more benevolent and merciful after emerging from that Sarlacc Pitt.
My prediction is that this show shall introduce at least one completely brand new main character to the Star Wars Universe. Fingers Crossed!
Maybe it was just me, but did anyone else notice that the music Max Rebo was playing in The Sanctuary bar was a Latin jazz arrangement of the original Cantina Band song?

For your knowledge, there was only one rancor on Tatooine, jabba's one. And it was a little one. Dathomir is the planet where live these magnificent creatures.
I thought that it was absolutely amazing!
I was very excited for this and frankly, this is Star Wars! The dialogue is also quite reminiscent of the real deal George Lucas directing, which is of course somewhat to be expected with Dave Filoni!

that's a good point, about the twi'lek not using huttese. something was bugging me about him and i couldn't put my finger on it. the character's english was too good and i did find it off-puttting, didn't seem alien enough like bib fortuna, and just a few words or phrases thrown in would have helped. it was weird that no one used huttese at all. but just a small thing. loved this episode and i can see so many story possibilities to build from it.
Hey Skyman, I actually share the same thoughts and opinions as you, regarding ‘The Book of Boba Fett’! I loved having flashbacks to Attack of the clones, with Kamino and the slave one, where Jango Fett and Obi-wan kenobi fought each other, and The remastered version of Attack of the Clones when Boba Lifts up Jango’s helmet, in love and admiration for his father! And just seeing Boba escape the sarlacc, just seeing the Sarlacc, Boba’s backstory after escaping the Sarlacc- therefore creating the bridge between Boba in return of the Jedi and explaining how he lost his amour after, and I absolutely loved seeing Boba rule after his master Jabba The Hutt of course. What’s crazy is that not only do I love all the same things as you, and perhaps many after massive Star Wars fans, but I agree on everything else! Like; having multi-various different beings and aliens In Jabba’s palace. However, since many of Jabba’s associates go into hiding after the events of what happened on Tattoine in ‘Return of the Jedi’ it would be great to see Boba build up an organisation and gang, the same way Jabba did, and I also got my hopes up on believing that monster in Tattooine was a Rancor, but I was happy to see even more Monsters and creatures in the Star Wars universe! (Although the Rancor is very nostalgic to me, and the Rancor put scene, maybe one of my favourite Scenes in all of Star Wars). But anyway, all that matters is that we are all part of one Amazing Star Wars community, not having the same opinions, and I completely respect and understand anyone’s different views and opinions in not just Star Wars, but absolutely anything, you know we all have our different opinions and views and we’re all untitled to them. Couple thoughts on the first episode
- The inside of the Sarlacc was cool. I was surprised that Boba needed to steal air from the dead Storm Trooper. You would think with all his armor customizations it would include a life support system to operate for a limited time in a vacuum. I guess not.
- Put your helmet on when you leave Boba. Put the money in a sack. Ever hear of snipers?
- I’m 100% fine with the flashbacks to Prequels. The foundation is built. I’m not cool with stuff connecting to the sequel trilogy, glad it’s been avoided to this point

How about them casting Jennifer Beals? She still looks good even after ~40 years since Flashdance. I'm looking forward to seeing where Slave One was parked. I keep thinking it's been a while since he fell into the pit and then he burned his way out but - can't really tell how long he was in there for. I hear rumors that Han Solo may appear but that wouldn't make sense since Boba would take him out for doing what he did to him. I don't see a scenario where they would meet and go after each other - same with Luke, given the last time the three of them were together.
