In a rare glimpse into the interior dealings of global military espionage, a snapshot has surfaced on social media, providing a unique view of a People’s Liberation Army Central Military Command Xian H-6N bomber. But it’s what clings to the underbelly of this aircraft that has set the world’s defense forums alight: what appears to be a YJ-21 air-launched ballistic missile.
The YJ-21 is a top-secret project, yet it’s already infamous for its rumored hypersonic prowess and deft maneuverability. It now emerges as a devastating threat for both land and sea targets across the globe.
Known in naval circles as one of the ‘carrier killers,’ this high-tech warhead throws a long shadow over the seascape of maritime power, posing a threat whose capabilities could eclipse the defensive prowess of even the most cutting-edge American warships.
With a cold reach of over 932 miles, the YJ-21 sends shivers down the spine, packing a mean punch as it zooms through the sky. American experts are on the edge, already fearing the projectile’s expected ability to slice through the toughest naval defenses and hit American aircraft carriers.
The birth of the YJ-21 is wrapped in whispers and mystery, rumored to be a wicked twist on the CM-401 ballistic missile. The word around the People’s Liberation Army Navy is it shares some DNA with the DF-21D anti-ship ballistic missile, yet taken to a new level as the YJ-21 hits the afterburners at harrowing hypersonic speeds, making it virtually unstoppable… - Věda a technologie

The Canadian Navy......stop the video at the 3:21 mark.
At 10 times the speed of sound, at sea level, air is like concrete, not only is it EXTREMELY difficult to maneuver, the missile and its contents can not survive a long journey.
Then explain how the space shuttle was able to reach 17,500 mph while "flying" through the atmosphere back to Earth.
@@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore
The space shuttle was traveling at 17,500 mph at sea level. No, it was not. When the shuttle flies at those speeds, it is traveling in the vacuum of space, not earths lower atmosphere.
@@AnimalsVehiclesAndMorewhat part of at sea level did you not quite understand
Its Chinese weapons video. Why are you taking them literally ?
At 10 times the speed of sound, how far is that journey? Distance becomes relative only to the speed it travels.
But without their satellites, how would the missiles work? "Chinese weather balloons?"
Odds that it's filled with water instead of fuel? Magic 8 ball says "without a doubt."
😂😂😂😂😂😂 was thinking the same 😂😂😂😂
Small problem.....satellites do not have the power needed to overcome radar saturation from space. They simply lack the ability to transmit enough energy. There is a reason all new radars are multi band. Jamming a single one doesn't accomplish much except give away your position which is why almost all strategies now rely on keeping radars off until the last minute. The missile will never find the target if the satellites can jam US radars they would in turn jam the missile's radar and leave it flying blind.
Its a big admission from China though that their wonder weapon needs another fiction wonder weapon to even have chance to work.
Chin'nah always pretends they are ten foot tall and bullet proof. The truth is their army is half full of under feed peasants that have the education of a fourth grader.
If that is true then how do they have ground penetrating radar from satellites?
@@billvandorn5332 LOL does the ground function by generating electrical current on your world?? Maybe some basic physics classes are in your future. People LOLZ!!!
There is something called inertial guidance/navigation systems that do not rely on RF waves in the same way
Except for the hyperspectral, radio frequency, UV and IR signatures, which make this missile readily trackable for ships, planes, and satellites. This is especially true for hypersonic missiles. They have unique signatures.
How hard to intercept?
how many times can you reuse the five same clips?
You’ve noticed. I’ve seen very poor clips for a while
unless it goes the speed of light all that is required to stop it is to warm it up a bit more.
laser outruns all missiles.
True, but you have a to have a powerful enough laser. The current ones require a few seconds of lazing to destroy the missiles, and they are still relatively short ranged.
@@John_Redcorn_ yes, but like a shuttle reentering a tiny bit of added heat will cause the missile to fail. things that move that fast can't get much hotter without failing.
Also, the laser dosn't have to be that powerful if it is above.
There's two glaring problems with that. 1: you need to detect & lock tracking on that hypersonic early enough to respond, and 2: you need to concentrate laser energy consistently for long enough to do damage to a hypersonic that is intended to handle extreme temperatures (multiple seconds). Not easy with a missile traveling at nearly 3km per second. There's a high chance that by the time you'd managed heat it sufficiently, it would have already hit you. That's if you managed to detect it at all - US Patriot systems completely failed to detect recent Zircon missiles launched at targets near Kiev.
À laser needs a working radar.

China military videos are always hilariously goofy
What PLAN videos???....this whole piece of shit video is chock full of clips from a RCN Halifax class Frigate and it's crew or US Army personnel with a few glamour shots from US Carriers......there was little actual Chinese content to be seen.....these Dark wankers are getting lazier and lazier with each video and basically think little of our intelligence, figuring we could not tell the difference between a RCN sailor and a PLAN sailor, or tell the difference between a US Army soldier and a USN sailor.
Right. If China touched our boats unprovoked, all hell will break out. I personally think they are just trying to scare us away from protecting Taiwan. I still don't understand why we allowed that country to have the largest semi conductor manufacturers.
Kind of. For informed person, its similar to Russian Kinzal missile.
Hypersonics are legitimately overrated. If they really were worth it we'd have boosted our research and used them 20-30 years ago. We're always decades ahead in technology. So if we don't put a lot of care and funding into hypersonic missiles then that should tell you that they won't be the future. They are just way too expensive for a slightly harder to hit missile.
Didn't they say it had a 9mile range?think they'll be allowed in that 9mile range? I imagine they would be denied by whatever air cover the carrier put on alert,f35s?

I saw the green screen slipped on one of those missle vids. videos like wow
do they have water in them
?>?
Is it faster than laser?
Honestly, unless a hypersonic weapon is tipped with a nuclear payload, its pretty much just an ordinary bomb albeit moving fast
You are gettin a little personal, now!
Did they film the missle from a f18?😂
Moving that fast it would be quite difficult to maneuver, I know ships are quite large and not that nimble. But if they start evasive maneuvers how would the missile change direction quickly enough to hit the target and not rip the missile apart with the forces involved.
exactly maneuvering at that speed would require the missile to be structurally stronger than concrete it would be ripped apart by the forces or be so heavy it wouldnt be able to maneuver due to inertia this is nothing more than exaggerated saber rattling
Wow this is interesting if true. And the comments are even more interesting
So, it only kills American Aircraft Carriers?
So let's say you fire this thing at the first aircraft carrier you see. And the second. And the third. Statistically, ALL 3 were American.
Just sayin'.
I don't think it works on the Indian ones unless they are designated or something I dunno
If that missile does reach mach 10 at lower altitude, the shock wave that will be created by it will be visible for miles ahead with temperatures over 3,000 degrees. I think a missile like that would be more suitable for high altitude attacks. If it is real as the Chinese claim, that's a big IF..
Pla cant seem to defend houthi missiles😂😂😂
Both Europe & the USA (through business) have been supporting China, by getting the the Chinese to produce goods (from toys to computers, micro chips etc) on the cheap. This has given China stepladder on technology which they would not have probably had at this time! Thus we have given though manufacture teck and funding to aid the Chinese Military.
Love Apple and Nike.
@TCW838 Gotta love Bill Clintoon, who urged Congress to give China " favored nation status" and then sold them super computers.
@@TCW838you also have to love children, that made it in Chinese factories )))
Yeah, well, they have to outsource how to run it, and everyone is bailing. So big whoop. Not to mention that they cannot produce the machines to manufacture such goods. Stop living your life in fear. Ghina is a paper tiger.
You missed out the bit where China has infiltrated the west, academies, universities, research bodies, in fact anywhere high-tech stuff is researched and tested, like in Canada, they cannot be trusted, their whole aim is to further the homeland, they are just passing on everything they can, and China is racing ahead, using information stolen from the west. We buy cheap tat from them in return we let them steal high-tech research, destroying our own manufacturing base with cheap goods.
We have lasers on carriers dontwe??
"aircraft carrier killing misslle" ? It's an anti-ship missile... "urban youth caught with cop killing pistol"... what hyperbole...
Nah, laser shot is like $2...they can't make anything that cheap, lol.

Humans are humans. Throughout history, people of all races invented something that led us to where we are today. Innovation can come from anywhere.
it's like _playback_ but for missiles... pause at 0:48
**laughs in C-RAM**
American military eliminates the threat no need of scaring people and talking about stuff in this manner
We live in a pre-war era, just like people when they saw Chamberlain with his piece of paper coming back from Berlin.
Pre-war. But which war? Is our situation more like WW1, where saber rattling and giant defense alliances led to senseless death, or is the present more like WW2, whereby we are appeasing our enemies and only delaying the inevitable slugfest as our rivals get more powerful? There is no way of knowing.
lol...balistic missiles are not ''hypersonic''... no more than Hitlers V2 balistic missile...
this is not a threat...
only a fool would blindly dismiss a potential threat.......thankfully the USN and other western navies are not such a fool as say you appear to be.
Is it faster than a laser? Short answer, NO.
laser weapontry is still aways away from being pratical and cost effective......progress is being made, but it just not there yet.
Doesn't matter.
It has been made clear that sinking an aircraft carrier is a nukable offense.
As The Fat Electrician and Habitual Linecrosser have so elegantly put it, "Don't. Touch. The boats."
That they have the capability is interesting, but not worrying, as if it were ever used it would be tantamount to using a nuke, which we already would have a hard time shooting down, and we've lived in the shadow of nuclear war our entire lives.
So it doesn't change any calculations anywhere. All the game theory still stands, assuming it even works as advertised.
American public is not willing to go to nuclear war over a carrier sailing in foreign seas. We are too divided to fight a world war. More likely than not, America would immediately elect a populist isolationist president that will send our troops home and rescind our status as global policeman. The American population does not have the stomach to fight another forever war. You can thank bush and friends for destroying public trust in military action.
Unstoppable. ...... no such thing.

"Details emerging from the PLA's account...." Blah Blah Blah.

Something that the narrator who's clearly shilling for the YJ-21 hasn't mentioned is that not only does the lifting-body lose speed as it enters the lower, denser parts of the atmosphere it loses speed to drag and every time. It manoeuvres it loses speed, it also has to lose speed to manoeuvre more easily and the slower it is the easier it is to intercept.
more than likely, its boost to mach 10 with come only in its short term terminal phase, once it has locked on to a target and not longer need to pull evasive manouvers. Coming in at Mach 6 is plenty fast, especially if it can duck and weave about until it can lock on and scream in at Mach 10 during its terminal phase.
Here is something to consider. From a USAF study, a 20' long, 1" diametre tungsten rod weighting a little under 11,500 KGs (aka the Rod from God concept), would deliver an impact with the kinetic energy rated at 11.5 ton of TNT. The Chinese missile weighs only around 2500 KGs and is not made of solid tungsten, but it would still deliver a fairly massive impact and energy release even without an explosive warhead at Mach 10.
@@gumpyoldbugger6944 "Coming in at Mach 6 is plenty fast, especially if it can duck and weave about until it can lock on and scream in at Mach 10 during its terminal phase. "
It won't be able to accelerate back to mach 10 as it's an unpowered glider also the faster a missile flies the less manoeuvrable it is. In addition to losing speed from performing evasive manoeuvres the missile has to slow down to maximise manoeuvrability. The kill vehicle will have to contend with both Standard Missile SAMs launched from the Missile Cruiser in the target CVBG along with the Carrier's fighters carrying long-range AAMs.
@@nicholasmaude6906 I don't think you understand how it expected to operate. As I understand it, it cruises in towards it target at Mach 6, and at that stage of its flight, it can try to evade incoming intercepters. Once it gets within range of its target and has lock on, it boost up to Mach 10 and dives in ballistically.
At around 8.3 metres or 21 feet in length, with a diametre of no more then 830 mm or 32.68 inches in order to fit into Chinese shipboard VLS's, it is a fairly small and extremely fast moving target which could be very difficult to intercept, especially if accompanied by radar jamming capable penitration aids.
Think a Wild Weasle system mounted on a missile designed to draw in and decoy incoming interceptors from the actual kill vehicles.
Plus interceptioon of one or two may well be doable, but a swarm of them coming in at multiple vectors could overwhelm your air defence system. And I doubt they would just launch one at a time.
Reminds me of the traitor who sold US radar schematics to China recently.
Like a number of Russian wonder-weapons (As revealed in Ukraine) I suspect that this YJ-21 ALBM has been overhyped.
agreed, and to think the US (and its allies) dont have a response is simply stupid to argue.
@@coopercartmill yup the navy has a better ballistic missile defense than the army does
The U.S.'s Patriot missile has been able to intercept both of Russia's hypersonic missiles (the Kinzhal and the Zircon). But, will it be able to do the same thing against China's hypersonic missiles (such as the DF-17)?
@@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore In the case of the USN the interception will be done SM-3 and SM-6 missiles.
