    key time stamps to making your own punch needle coasters!
    00:21 what you'll need
    00:38 drafting your pattern
    00:56 using tracing paper (optional)
    01:21 transferring pattern onto the fabric
    01:43 hooping the fabric
    02:14 choosing needle and inserting yarn
    02:59 short demo on the differences in size/loop
    🍳 egg coaster
    03:28 start punching!
    05:07 finishing off the whites of the egg and filling up any gaps
    05:38 filling up the yoke
    06:28 finishing off and trimming excess yarns
    06:34 removing and cutting of artwork
    07:09 preparing the felt backing
    07:41 glueing and sticking the felt onto the artwork
    08:50 stitching the edges (optional)
    🐣chick coaster
    10:49 same steps as the egg coaster
    13:55 - 15:22 stitching of eyes and mouth
    17:30 the real question of the chick and egg coaster 🤔

    • @ayecandy_
      @ayecandy_  Před 2 lety +1

      hi Jo Jo, yes in the case of a spill, you can hand wash it! do wash it straight after the spill to prevent staining. you can see how i wash mine here (czcams.com/users/shortsXMyPRkr6jRI) - just bear in mind, i waited about a week to "make it dirtier" for the video which is NOT recommended 😅😂 otherwise, spot cleaning works just fine :)

    When you were stitching round the edge, when you got to the last stitch did you tie a knot? I saw you cut the thread but didn't notice if you tied it off or how! Thank you 😁

      i'm not an expert at sewing but my guess is she did to secure it. I think it's what you're supposed to do when to get to the end

    • @ayecandy_

      Thanks for helping to reply! Yes I did tie a knot and hid it by "stuffing" the ends within after cutting it off

  • @Hanna-ur5ty

    Is it not necessary to trim off the front with a scissors or razor (just like when making using tufting gun). And what type of glue did you use? Is there any other alternative that it is as great as monks cloth though probably cheaper?
    P.S. Sorry for tons of questions, I am just super interested with this stuff but don't know where to start. Thank you!

    • @ayecandy_
      @ayecandy_  Před dnem

      No worries, sorry for the late reply. Hope you're still doing art! No it's not necessary, it depends on what look you prefer for your coasters :) if you do decide to trim off the front, make sure you punch with larger loops.
      I used Elmer glue. For monks cloth alternative, you can maybe try using burlap. I've seen some creators using it and achieved good results even though I've personally not used burlap before.
