This is still my go-to range extender. I've installed several of them for clients and all have been very happy.

Thanks man, thats exactly the kind of video I was looking for. I like to see actual possibilities the devices have before buying them and bwing disappointed.
This looks quite decent, the only thing I'm missing is 'guest' mode where you can make specific restrictions for people that don't live at your home but want to use your wifi.

Thanks for the feedback. I have yet to personally see a range extender that works with "Guest" networks from the router. They simply pass through current networks. I guess it's possible if you configure a router with dual band networks this way:
      1) Enable standard wireless on 2.4GHz
      2) Disable main 5GHz network
      3) Enable Guest Network
      4) Disable Guest Network on 2.4GHz
      5) Enable Guest Network on 5GHz
I currently have no way of testing that as this hardware has since left the test-bench. With a router configured with a standard network on one band, and the guest network on a different band, it could work as the range extender will simply extend the wireless and settings of your main network.
It may be worth giving it a try.

Hi, just want to know if I can connect a internet cable from the main router to the RE650 device to that the signal would be strong to the other room which have interference because of the wall?

Would you be able to do a video tutorial for the NETWORK, custom IP and DHCP server settings, etc. I've tried automatic /custom IP and DHCP (OFF/AUTO/ON) but still getting connection drops often, the connection is very unstable.. thanks!

I setup my RE650 on my PC. But now I get an IP address conflict message. How do I resolve this?

Doesn't show up on my wifi wireless list but shows connected on the device on both bands what a waste of money

How did you get the IP Address to get to that page for TP-Link?

How can I check the speed that the device is giving me? And what would you recommend as far as where it should go? Does it matter or is it "where ever" as long as it gets a signal?

If it gets a good signal, it should work. I put it a little over half-way from the main router and where I needed the signal boosted. As for speed, we plugged a cable into it and into a laptop and then ran network diagnostics between a router-connected device and the RE650 connected device.

Sorry you found it too fast. It's hard to make a video short enough to stay interesting for most people and not rush. Thanks for watching! Please feel free to watch it again, pause and go through your device to see how to set it up! :-)
