Why? There's no story left, season three had nothing left to offer. It should have ended after season 2 with Grogu leaving to be trained by Luke.
I have been a fan of STAR WARS for nearly 50 years (!) now, and I can't even get excited for this.

Disneys ply could be to get this move out there, and maybe more people will want to see the adventures of baby yoda (seasons 1-3) not get a cliffhanger for season 4
I thought I would never say this, but I will not watch a live action Star Wars film for the first time. I just can't.
I was super burnt at how bad Rise of Skywalker was, so they can take their time with a new movie. I hope it’s good of course, but man Episode IX was painful on so many levels.
That’s the point. Something you should’ve had for “free” on Disney + you will pay for in theatres… genius on their end

I'm pretty sure it will be Brendan Wayne in the suit for most of the movie. Pedro was probably only present for the filming they only just recently did in Los Angeles
They should do another prequel like Rogue One. That hit.
The real question should be what is the point of the movie. We know all we need to know about the mandalorian and the child.

Movie should be a small scale self contained bounty hunter story nothing more, watching the early seasons should help but not necessarily and season 4 should not rely on this movie either. Everything you need to know should be summarized quickly before the film gets started.

The only thing I can say is : Do we really need a Grogu movie?
Will this be a real movie or more like a TV movie? Since we’ve already spent a lot of time with Djarin, Grogu etc ans know that time period quite well, I hope they have a good reason to make a film instead of just another season

It will be released theatrically, according to the official announcement.
Honestly if it doesn't center around Mando and Grogu, I don't know if I care for the movie. I found I didn't enjoy season 3 as much as season 1 & 2 as I didnt care for the other mandolins. The movie should be a self contained story.

It's gonna be a hard crawl back after the disappointment of S3 of Mando. I wish them luck.
They're gonna really struggle to make this film feel like a proper event. It's a TV-ass TV show and i can't really see it translating well to the big screen. Always hoping to be proven wrong, but this is the least interesting SW movie idea i could have imagined lol
Jon Favreau seems to have a good working relationship with Disney/Lucasfilm. I don't foresee there being much "creative difference" issues behind the scenes that would affect the release of this movie.
I wish them good luck but hopefully Kathleen Kennedy doesn't step on toes.

Sorry, John, but this isn't constructive. In almost all other cases, your criticisms are constructive, but when it comes to Star Wars, you gatekeep just as much as other fans, and it isn't even clear to me what you gatekeep for.
Imagine green lighting this movie after a terrible third season and not after the heights of the second season. Awful planning, zero hype for this

I’m very skeptical of this movie, though I do think they will actually make it. The TV show went downhill after season 1. Season 3 was pretty bad and I lost most of my interest in the characters . . .
It’s only gonna work if they give us what we have not seen before, and what we have not seen is a teenage years Yoda/Grogu character. Walking,talking. Age him up and make it great. Learn from the acolyte🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
After the Acolyte, Lucasfilm gonna wake up to a sad reality to how much they've destroyed their franchise. John, you can't engage with what is happening without finishing that season and how they stright lied about what that show was about, instead making a direct prequel to the prequels and ruining it

You do realize that there were no Star Wars movies between 1983 and 1999, right? And again from 2005 to 2015 (unless you count that animated Clone Wars movie).
