    most of the mountain bike skills that you are presenting, i either learned it from riding bmx freestyle, bmx racing or just mucking about on my bicycle in my local trails. being presented as a step by step guide such as your series made me realize how many steps it takes to do something that i've learned naturally (by observing closely and trying them out myself). this made me appreciate the risks that i took when i was younger learning and trying out these skills.

    Just wiped out yesterday trying to take a high rock. Able to do it 1st time, didn’t lift enough 2nd time. Fell. Thanks for this educational video. Will go back and practice, practice. . .

    Great tips on skills needed. I am working on this. What I lack is power when climbing a rock garden especially when the trail is uphill and I’m already exhausted. Without strength, the skills aren’t much use except for single steps. Friends want me to go to the gym. 😭

    Popping up the rear tire and timing my pedal strokes is what I really need to work on. Right now it's a whole lot of me getting past one or two rocks and then either losing all momentum or bouncing my front tire off the next damn rock in the garden.

    There is couple of rock steps/climbs on the tracks I just cant get up because you have to lift the wheel about a foot at the start of them and their already on a track which is climbing up so its a double whammy. any advice?

    The correct force is what your looking for going up an obstacle, not the correct power. the force is a more instantaneous term proper for the slow speeds, power is the measure of the effectiveness of that applied torque on the crank arm. Power is a good term to compare real effort on an uphill ride with some distance rather than a short hop over an obstacle.

    After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working czcams.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

    can I use this technique in hardtail bike?

    • @TechnocraticBushman
      @TechnocraticBushman Před 8 lety +1

      +Mark Guillermo Yes you can. In fact, I'd argue it's easier. Practice just the back wheel for a while. It's dead easy. What you do is you push your weight forward, angle toes downward and try to lift the back wheel. No brakes no nothing. Just move your weight in front, toes down and scoop the back wheel. You'll probably get it first try.

    No issues with assembly for me czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
