And the editors are just like, "Do you, holmes." Krakoa: Why are the mutants still on Krakoa? I'm assuming they still are, but I stopped reading a couple years ago. The Krakoa storyline was a very good, Age of Apocalypse-type event that would have had really great reverberations throughout the X-books, what with Moira's new powers discovered, and the future of mutants in doubt (so, business as usual). It should've lasted, like, a year, year-and-a-half, at most. Instead, the mutants moved to Krakoa, called themselves the new gods of the earth, Franklin Richards is a fake-mutant, and it's STILL happening (I think it ended a couple months ago, but point still stands). The Batman Who Laughs: What a cool freakin' character. When I first saw him at the end of that Dark Metal issue, I was like, oh that's awesome. And he was cool. Edgy as hell, but whatever. I've been reading comics a long time, so I'm down with anything to freshen things up a bit. But I guess all the other writers at DC thought he was super-cool, too, because they all decided to use him as the ultimate villain for, like, three years straight. Less is more, guys - kill your darlings, you know? He is def that kid who is obnoxiously invincible. Good analogy.
The Batman Who Laughs was a really cool story, right up until the ending. It was the most 2007 WWE writing. Batman got his ass handed to him the entire time, constantly lamenting how badly he's getting his ass kicked, and "oh man this BMHL is super smart and handsome and keeps beating me." But then BAtman just wins. He just wins. And that's it. Cause he's batman. And then they went into the whole Dark Knights Metal storyline and it was just the complete oversaturation of this singular concept. It jumped the shark. Then it came back around and did a backflip over the shark. Then it jumped it again. Then it threw the shark off a cliff. Then it slapped the shark with a comically oversized mallet. It sucked.
Is there a lore reason Man is Jonkling? Is he stupid? All jokes aside, this story actually got me back into reading comics after not reading them for years, and for that, it has a special place on my Batman shelf.
This is the closest this channel get to telling comic book stories in comic book store while checking new stuff. Only thing missing is "Dude, that's sick!" or smth like that 😅
I might be wrong but in the end of the story Batman sits all depressed cause as Batman out of all the versions he achieved nothing. The punisher Batman shot all the enemies, The one who laughs is crazy and killed JS, while our Bats literally did nothing and realised it by the end
Holy shit the beginning story you told reminds me of this unique game me and a few mates used to play in primary school. It was called 'A' (as in Capital A) Game (it's pronounced A game, not a game - uh game). Basically it was you name a character you think of (it was usually DC caus we enjoyed the darker stories), then it increasingly got more obscure, getting into characters like this Singaporean butcher man (whom I still don't know) and Dog Welder Man.
The thing that irritates me the most about TBWL is that he actually had a good backstory and could've been one of the most terrifying antagonists that Bruce ever faced, then this shit happened.

It sucked.
The DC Comics Universe that laughs
Is there a lore reason Man is Jonkling? Is he stupid?
All jokes aside, this story actually got me back into reading comics after not reading them for years, and for that, it has a special place on my Batman shelf.
This is the closest this channel get to telling comic book stories in comic book store while checking new stuff. Only thing missing is "Dude, that's sick!" or smth like that 😅
like this style of vids for comics !
There is one way that the whole concept where batman becomes joker was done well in the batman show in the episode the laughing bat
I might be wrong but in the end of the story Batman sits all depressed cause as Batman out of all the versions he achieved nothing.
The punisher Batman shot all the enemies, The one who laughs is crazy and killed JS, while our Bats literally did nothing and realised it by the end
Batman Who Chuckles is a W character 😤😤😤
Batman Who Laughs was cool in his debut story. It got ridiculous later on
joker killer smile has always confused me a little bit. i'm not sure why though.
When did all of us realize that mullet man no longer has a mullet
Mullet-Goat Comics 🐐 quick question how do you read your comics ? Do you read them online or read them physical?
Is this before or after Batman Who Laughs absorbs Dr Manhattan powers
This was the first ever Batman comic I read and I had to reread cause… oh boy…
Finally someone answered the question "What if the Joker wrote Batman fanfic?"
This story is the perfect example of too many chefs in the kitchen cause that is confusing asf 😂😂😂😂
i also played this grownin up,always was the hulk, and my brother was like that one kid who didn't play by the rules we made up
Scott Snyder must've had some high grade Colombian booger sugar when coming up with this idea.
.... you possess no mullet. Zero out of Ten.
I remember New 52 Batman near the end it was confusing how he became the Bat totem, like he was mantled by a bunch of random liquids throughtout the story and didnt know it
IM HERE FOR MULLET MAN TBH NOT THE COMIC
