- Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a greenfield industrial planned city near Dholera in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, around 100 kilometers to the south-west.[2][3] spread over more than 920 km2 it is a new industrial city being jointly developed by the Government of India and Gujarat. Dholera is strategically located, well connected with trade gateways and falls in the influence zone of proposed Delhi - Mumbai Industrial Corridor project (DMIC), a joint initiative by the Government of India and Japan.
A legal framework known as the Special Investment Region Act 2009 was made by the Government of Gujarat. A regional development authority for DSIR has been constituted in accordance with the act.[4] The Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) would be in charge of managing government land within DSIR in addition to planning and developing DSIR. The Central Government (NICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat have formed an SPV called Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) to carry out the project.[5] A special purpose business called the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC) was founded in order to create, support, and facilitate the development of the DMIC Project.[6]

Good capture but damn the development is super slow. Xiongan a green field smart city is being built in china and they have already achieved 3x more progress than us already. They have already built over 3000 units of homes. Bullet train stations and much more. Within 7 years of development starting. We have already spent a lot of time, in development of first phase alone. We need to allow developers to start building as quickly as possible. From what I remembered plots are pretty much sold in dholera already so why not give permission to start building? It will take 2-3 years to fully complete development of buildings and homes so might as well start.

This is not a city, it is just a project yet! It's not a city until there are people living in it & there are businesses supporting consumption of people living in it. Even GIFT is not a city yet but it's going to become one in a couple of years with some residential & retail spaces getting finished & occupied. This project is not moving forward & gov will have to launch a downtown style development project along with industrial investment otherwise this will end up like Amravati in Andhra.
