    Thank you! I bought exactly the same reflector and it is excellent. I find it very useful in my studio especially because I work on my own and this reflector is free standing so I do not need an assistant to hold it.

    Great video! the only thing I wish you added was a photo of you without the reflector in front. But I'm subscribing. ^_^

    Thanks for the great review, do you think this would work well with video/interviews? Does this work when people aren't looking directly in the camera?

    • @paulphillips5128
      @paulphillips5128 Před 3 lety

      No, I think it would be in the way for interview style unless you purposely set it up to be out of frame. Then it would work well depending on how close it is to the subject.

    Thank you. I'm considering this as well as the flat reflectors. Do you think the clamshell shape makes much of a difference in the way you're using it here, as opposed to a flat rectangle or a more oval design? It seems to me that a flat one would be more versatile.

      @PTPhotoGearReviews  Před měsícem +1

      a white flat foam core board is the minimum for a reflector but it doesn't give you any where as good a quality nor does it give you the ability to change between white, silver or gold etc. I have the collapsible reflectors which give those options but still prefer the clamshell for serious headshots in my studio. Hope that helps.

    Great review! Do you find that using this reflector presents a challenge for shooting people wearing eyeglasses? The examples you showed were without glasses.

    • @PTPhotoGearReviews
      @PTPhotoGearReviews  Před 2 lety

      Not at all for 2 reasons; 1. most glasses now have anti-glare coatings that do a great job of killing hot spots, 2. it's so easy to remove hot spots by making sure your lighting is at a 45deg angle to your subject. ie. even when the light comes from above it reflects off the clamshell at a 45deg angle give or take so I haven't encountered a situation I couldn't modify by simply changing the angle of the light. Hope that helps. Cheers

      @@PTPhotoGearReviews thanks for the answer. I suspected that tweaking the angles would be sufficient to get the glare out but wanted to confirm.
