This looks great. You can easily imagine this type of design becoming almost the standard bike of the future for most people.
100% agree! This is such a practical bike. Like an estate/wagon car.
@@TheMirrorVision The fact that you mentioned an estate car makes me worried, because practicality and efficiency really have gone out of the window. What with all the SUVs and raised up small cars with plastic wheel arches we see now. It doesn’t bode particularly well.
@@christill I agree, and hope people don’t bring the same mentality to bikes that caused them to ditch estates for giant crossovers and SUVs.
Doubt
@@TheMirrorVisionWell, with a price tag of 6000 euros (from the official website), it certainly costs like one :)
I watched an 8-minute video (kind of an ad) at normal speed and enjoyed it. Seems like a really great bike!
Me too! Its a relaxing video...
I know right! Finally an ad that shows the actual product instead of „glamour“ images. And they film every angle, so relaxing.
We need more people to see fantastic designs like this to understand what's possible.
this looks like a great utility bike. An ideal car-replacement for living in dense urban areas
I salute your designers. I love products that are so well-designed and flexible. This is right up there with the best.
Thank you so much. We and especially our designers are very happy about the positive feedback.
The design of the child cover looks much improved over Load75. Sturdier struts and most importantly - beefed up strut attachment points. I’ve had mine break on my Load75(2019) four times already. I’m happy to see that it is easier to add/remove the cover too. And the hinges for the cover! That is the cherry on top I never imagined I was missing! How convenient this is if one is to offer a ride for an adult in the cargo box! Please, please bring these features to the Load75. Anyway, this new bike looks amazing for how much thought has been put into ease-of-use and ease-of-self-maintenance. R&M rising the bar once again!
Great design and functionality, a valuable addition to the R&M cargo family ebikes
Looks absolutely amazing. Great bike and well thought out. I much prefer having the kids up front than dangling behind. Well done to the designers and manufactures. Let's not forget the marketing team either
As every cargo bike it comes at the cheap price of a used car
Absolutely loving our Packster 70, but could see myself downsizing to a Carrie once the kids are too big and are on their own bikes! The expanding load area is genius!
Oh, I love how the compact cargo segment is growing! I would love to review this bike this year.
A great entry level variant, it would be super awesome to see a HS variant with Control Technology too!
If this bike has a non-ebike version I will buy it in a heartbeat.
We need to see this out on the road in action!
An excellent design and a good response to the competition.
Very clever box design
Man if I didn't live in BFE, I would get an one of these.
Oh man! Such a nice execution of cargo bike. GREAT delivery of content.
Absolutely gorgeous, R&M is the golden standard!
I want such a lockable box retrofitted for my multicharger!
Love the amount of thought that's gone into the clever adaptable design 👍😁
Looks great! I would love that the tinker could have an option for a 27kg rear rack! Would make it a perfect bike!
Wow 🤩 That is a great addition to your cargo bike ranges. Love all the accessories!
It really is :)
@@rieseundmuellerGmbH will there also be a S-Pedelec version?
@@Vardraqthe installed motor, Bosch Performance Line, is not available as HS version, so unfortunately there is no option.
Wieder ein neues, toll durchdachtes Rad. Dankeeeee!
That’s a seriously impressive design
Great product, congratulations! I will wait for the E14 option.
this is exactly what I need! hope to find it in the US soon.
The Carrie will be available in the US, too. You can check out our dealer search to find the nearest Riese & Müller dealer: www.r-m.de/en-us/dealer-search/
I am impressed. Very innovative. Thank you and best wishes for the team.
I am increasingly skeptical of any ebike that uses proprietary electronics and technology which will necessarily have a much shorter lifespan than the mechanical parts. What assurances do prospective buyers have that they are not buying an expensive piece of e-waste abandonware?
None. Literally just trust me bro. Until we get some proper regulation guaranteeing repairability, the only option for repairable E-Bikes are no-name Chinese motors and controllers based on the old and hackable uart comms protocol. Shame really.
It's okay. Same thing is happening in smartphone, laptop, car industry etc. It makes them more money, so they do it. If you want things to change, add a motor to an old steel frame and get a Anhänger and you will end up with similar usability, more repairability and much less refinement.
It's like they read my mind and built the bike of my dreams.
Please also make the Load child canopies with the TPU material that has an SPF 50 rating. It would be greatly appreciated!
Makes me wish I lived in a place where year-round bike travel was more viable.
This thing looks awesome
Amazing new bike in the range. I'm a R&M fan and almost loves all of the models. I'm currently riding my second R&M and I like it a lot. The only disadvantage I see is the overall cost. Not only the high initial investment but also the high maintenance costs. R&M are dream bikes but they remain very expensive.
How do you figure high maintenance costs? I haven't had much in terms of parts failing during my first three years owning a Load75.
@@sanhestarnew chain and back sprocket after 1800km (switched to waxing 2nd chain still going strong), front fork got expensive service/partial replace, spokes broke, front tent holding thingy broke around 4 times, seatbelts broke twice, shifter indicator broke, shifter cables acted up,...
Been looking for a small front loader and this hits everything
In my place there's a lot of vendor/seller using bike, either coffee, food even groceries such as fresh veg&fruits.
This is pretty much will be an upgrade
Something I didn't know I needed, but would consider it now. I though the packster was the ideal. A great one up option.
That looks so sick!
Incredible!
This design is genius
Nice innovation.
Oooooh wow, I like this. I like this a lot!
Yay, thank you :).
Beautifull bike, well designed and engineered.
I can imagine an cover that is aero to reduce consumption and covered with solarcells to charge the battery when in the sun. Would be a perfect commuter.
As a shopmechanic dealing with R&M every day, I truly hate the brand nowadays.
But I have to admit - this design is one of the best I've ever seen!
We'll see if it works at least decent..
A good car replacement for supermarket shopping
Very smart design! And nice efforts to close the material loop. R&M is on top of their game with this one.
Will this ever be available in HS version? I don't like the limitation of the 25 kmh and always end up going 35kmh on regular ebikes. Otherwise this is an amazing design and engineering piece of kit.
The installed motor, Bosch Performance Line, is not available as HS version, so unfortunately there is no option.
@@rieseundmuellerGmbHThe motor in every single R&M HS-Bike is literally Bosch Performance Line SPEED.
I own 12 bikes. Only one cargo bike, and I bike everywhere, so I think you can hear this from somebody in your team, and believe it's true. IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE. You can buy a Dacia Spring EV for this price, or at least half a new VW e-up, a used and briliant Kona EV, or a smart car. There are uses where a car is just a no go, ok, but The price for this cargo bike compared tot he parts of a vehicle can not be justified. 2 wheels, not 4. no doors, no windows, no seats, no 30kwh battery, no subframe, 60kw motor, abs, radar, wheel, stalks, mirrors, heated seats, ac... nothing. Bikes should not be this expensive. Ok if one person builds one a month, only for me, ok. But it's still mas produced and outsourced. Battery, off the rack, Bosch motor, controls, wheels... 6000 grand starting price, not ok. if you warranty it for 20 years, maybe, but this will not be a functioning electric bike on the road in 2 to 10 years time.
Yeah and it gets easily stolen infront of the supermarket or wherever you need to go.
Unfortunately there will always be people who are willing to pay these ridiculous prices, wether its for a 15k roadbike or an expensive cargo bike.
Beautiful bike, but please think about a rain cover for the multitinker!
Very clever.
Get a longtail that you can park upright standing on 3 contact points. Waymore efficient use of parking space,300kg loading capacity.
Rear wheel to small, you will feel all the cracks on the road. Cargo area to small and made to load limited items. That's why I went with Harry vs Larry Bullitt, lots of cargo space and its not limited to certain size items.
I hate that I can rent cargo bikes for cheap, as this robs me of the opportunity to own one of these amazing machines!
Now make the same but a bit bigger for 250kg and a bit more power (800 to 900 watt)
❤❤❤ it !
It would be very interesting to see how a properly aerodynamic cover , protecting the whole bike light to rear wheel, would affect range.
Great motor! I wish the other Bosch options were as quiet. That alone kept me away from the Homage/Delite.
smart !!!
I was confused by that chunky lower black bar before realising that was how the steering was coupled between bars and forks!
Can the bike be adaptable for carrying a dog
We do not offer a dog kit like those for the Transporter 65. But with customised solutions, it should be also possible to carry furry friends
I would like to have one.
Will it be possible to look at it in person in Stockholm? The price is a bit steep for a blind purchase. Looks like a lovely bike, though. I think our family needs something like it in a couple of years and I would seriously consider this one at that point in time.
We are pleased that you like the Carrie. We also have dealer partners in Stockholm and the surrounding area who will receive test bikes when they've ordered them. You are welcome to use the dealer search on our website and enquire directly at the dealer of your choice
As always, really smart design, good eye for detail etc etc, but I have a different question. When is the first dual battery speed pedelec with 1500w capacity and a Rohloff drive coming out? I currently have a Charger 4 750w (mine is a very early one, almost two years old), but now I'm looking to add a speed pedelec for specific commuting purposes. I don't need it to look fancy though, like the Homage, or have rear suspension, like the Delite. What I'm basically asking is: will there be a Supercharger (or similar looking new model) with a 1500w option, rohloff drive, and when will it come out?
Thanks for the great feedback. The Load4 can already be configured with up to 1450 Wh (2x 725 Wh) but we cannot yet predict whether this will also be the case with other bikes
@@rieseundmuellerGmbH Thanks for the answer. I knew already that cargo bikes could go up to this capacity, I would like to see it on least 1 "regular" bike model. The Flluid-2 even has 2000w, but of course not the Smart System, which I wouldn't want to live without anymore. I guess I'll keep following the news.
Or you do a cargo bike as a trike with the load in the back? Or develop a trailer?
Will there be a car or toddler seat adapter?
Currently there is no factory solution and we cannot yet say whether there will be one in the future.
Hi there, may I know whether this bike can be shipped to Singapore? Thanks
Unfortunately not
Hello, is this bike designed to withstand being stored outside all year round in north east US?
All our bikes are designed for outdoor use. However, to ensure maximum durability, we recommend protecting it from environmental influences as much as possible during storage. The battery should be removed from the bike in extreme heat or cold
Nice bike…how do you make sure it’s not stolen from outside the shops ?
Did you watch the video?
this looks awesome
just need to get the price down under 3k usd
The Flex Box desperately needs lights front and rear on both sides. Drivers will see just a single tire track and over look the width.
Width of the bicycle is defined by handlebars. Flex box does not exceed it.
Why can’t you do the same type of cargo bike but as a trike where you put the load in the front?
Did you just call black plastic "recyclable"? Will it ever actually get recycled?
Is the flex box keep out rain when closed?
To ensure that the contents do not get wet in the rain, the standard rain cover can be pulled over the box (4:11)
Please can we have rx service in the UK?
We need a cover for rider not just for children !
nice . it's a pity the Sachs/BMZ motor was not used .
Can it also accommodate a small adult, say someone who is 164 cm and 70 kilos?
The Carrie's box is approved for up to 80kg, but the transport of an adult is not permitted in Germany. If you are interested, please find out about the rules for transporting people on bicycles in your country
Magnifique ! Mais qu'attend R&M pour lancer un e-birdy, en milieu urbain le vélo pliant/compact a une belle place à prendre ( plutôt que faire trop de vélo urbain 27,5/28 pouces dans le même segment déjà surréprésenté)
Do you already know our Tinker (www.r-m.de/de/bikes/tinker2/)? It's not quite the same, but it's also an excellent companion for the city with 20'' wheels and a small pack size.
@@rieseundmuellerGmbH It is and we actually own three of them for a reason (best seating position for cyclists), but: the Tinker is not a cargo bike. It is hardly a multi-purpose bike, it does not carry a child seat, no front rack available - it is limited to the Enviolo drive train and has a 135 kg weight limit. Did I mention, that you don't even offer colors ? The market for compact bikes has developed since 2015. It reminds me at BMW i3. Such a great product, neclected over the years. The Multitinker is a reasonable good product, but bloody heavy and even for money and good faith only available with one single battery . just why? Where is the next generation Tinker frame, that can compete with the ISY, Terms, QIOs out there? The Tinker deserves more love and attention!
Do you ship to the Philippines?
unfortunately not
Great designs 👍
But the wh‘s of the batteries are quite poor. Something like 1000wh should be a standard. And the ask price for a few wh‘s more is usually outrageous expensive.
In general the high initial cost for a cargo bike strangled the propagation of it.
It is a shame.
Kriegt man eure Räder auch in Taiwan? Ernste Frage

the lid looks to be just foam. does that mean i can easily mark up the box lid? kids putting finger nails into it, vandalism etc?
The box is made of EPP, a lightweight and environmentally friendly, yet hard-wearing plastic
🇮🇳: 🤩
Great concept and product. But, i guess it's at least 10k euros?
The price depends on the configuration. You are welcome to take a look at our website, where you will find the RRP. Spoiler: It is well below 10k €
Link to pricing? availability?
The firt test bikes are expected to arrive at our dealers in April. The RRP are available on our website: www.r-m.de/de/bikes/carrie/
Would have loved this instead of my Multicharger as it's so compact (i don't like the look of the multitinker - sorry). That said my Multicharger works great, rides well on longer rides / commutes and my kids are happy on the back. So I'm hoping it'll do me many years of hauling out of it and who knows what's going to be on sale when it needs changing.
Great bike. Pity I don’t have the problems this bike would solve.
Looks great but the external battery is a deal breaker…gets stolen too easily…
👋👋🇸🇪
I likey I Like
FYI: from €5,799.00
its such a shame the 'box' is not ip65 waterproof
Everything about these bikes is great except that they cost as much as I paid for my car (used 6 year old toyota in perfect condition).
I like it, how many tens of thousands $$$ is it?
The price depends on the configuration. Just take a look at our website, where you will find the RRP 🙂
“To be honest”😂
To be honest, there really are a lot of details 😉
5800€ for the most basic configuration?! Costs more than my mid-high-end MTB + my expensive trailer. Child seat: extra 200€, Child rain cover: another 200€ (seriously?! 400€ for carrying my child through rainy weather?!), Rainproof cargo bag: 300€ (WTF?!)... A reasonable configuration costs 6500-7000€. The bike's basic features (brakes, etc.) are even mediocre - certainly enough for a cargo bike, but it is mediocre nevertheless. I really like the idea of a cargo bike! But these prices are insane!
They are expensive but not disposable like cheaper bikes. If I were to make one myself I don't think It would be cheaper overall..
Please link to anything comparable that's as well designed ??
@@edwardfletcher7790 If I would name any specific bike, we would start arguing about this and that little feature and whatnot. So, that's pointless. However, for comparison, just look for Ortlieb's rainbags for bikes. They are of decent quality and cost like 40€, while Riese & Müller's bag costs more than 7x as much! A child seat for cars costs under 100€, which has so much more features than the one from Riese & Müller, which costs 2x as much. Comparing the bike's base is a bit difficult, but can also be done when you look at bikes that don't have a motor. Look up the costs of this motor and make your own math.
Similar with the bike's base! I doubt that a Magura MT4 is the right choice for an e-cargo-bike! It's not a bad break, but for a cargo bike?! It's the smallest one from Magura and even Magura itself recommends a stronger break for cargo-bikes! But I'm not an expert and may be wrong here. So, I don't want to go too much into detail here. However, all this feels like Riese & Müller built a mediocre cargo bike and is selling it for an high-end price.
