I honestly feel like Kane's initial shot as LostPaw was spiteful jealousy rather than any real concern about the game, and that just so happened to spiral into a rabbit hole of controversy.
If FNaF Plus was cancelled, then this isn't just a "free version", especially when he himself said it's nothing like it. The only thing LostPaw did wrong was use AI to imitate Scott; remove that and there's literally nothing here that should cause drama.

a developer who keep the game 3months without making it public , it's been a long time since it's finished BUT the poor developer as you said , prefer to keep it for him and lying about that's not finish yet
gonna be real, I liked the dev alot, agreed with alot of his points and critiques of the story, but he actively kept trying to antagonize the fanbase and was constantly smack talking the series he was actually officially apart of... like why would you keep speaking badly about how u dont like the series... instead of releasing your game, and focusing on finishing said game that could single handedly change the course of the series and what fans were into. Phisnom (the dev) dropped the ball, and let the fame get to his head. focused way too much on being edgy and problematic instead of finishing his game.

It depends how similar it is. Games such as five nights at candys are similar to fnaf but they do things differently enough that a $5 or maybe even $10 price tag wouldn't feel out of place.

Considering FNAF+ will literally never be released, calling this an inferior product is hardly fair - I'd call a decent, fully playable game a far superior product than one that didn't even make it to public alpha. It seems like most of the drama was perceived disrespect towards Phil, that someone would dare to pick up the pieces and put something together from it...
Having said that, AI-ing Scott's voice in was a step too far - do I think that warranted all of LostPawPlay's effort in re-creating FNAF+ being poofed out of existence? No, but he should've known better what backlash that would've garnered, especially when he was already accepting donations for the game.
The fact that it exists makes it a superior product to the original just by proxy lmao

To be completely honest , he might not have known what backlash an AI Scott voice would have caused, especially because people make ai celebrity voices for seemingly no reason all the time. An example that instantly comes to mind is the Lana Del Rey cover of Mitski's "My Love Mine All Mine" that blew up on tiktok. No one cared that it wasnt the original singer, nor that it was ai.
If Phil wasn't a lazy bastard and actually worked on the game nothing like this would have happened. Little bro didn't give ANY updates in regards to mechanics or even shown any in game footage aside from the main menu, which looked boring as fuck. As far as I'm concerned this game never even existed beyond Phil and Kane's wildest imaginations.

@@magmamaze69Scott pumped out the first 4 in under 2 years, and he was effectively a 1 man team. There’s really no excuse for Phil and Kane to take 3 years to fail to do what Scott could do in a couple months, assuming they actually knew what they were doing.
You can’t just really say, “It’s not even close to the real thing.” Without the disappointment that was “Ok, then what was taking so long?” Or “I have been waiting for a while on this, and reborn is the closest I’ve gotten.” Not saying it’s wrong and all, but it kinda feels like a massive stab in the backside as a fan of Phil hearing a “great game not even close to the fan game!”
Yeah, like, I get that Kane may’ve been offended, but he’s also friends with Phil, making him biased. So when he says stuff like “it wasn’t even close to the real FNaF Plus” it’s hard to take him seriously when after 3 years of development all we had from FNaF Plus was a few cinematics and mostly stills of the game/models, with barely any gameplay in-between, and that kinda makes me wonder just how close to finishing Plus Phil was before he was fired.

i mean, i didn't get into the whole fangame scene til v shortly ago, but i'd assume the game that was made over a very short time being nothing like the game you waited for years for would be... a good thing? i'd be disappointed if all the time spent on the fangame could be compressed so much, but maybe i don't get the source of your disappointment 😅
Brother got his shit rocked for a canned project; I think THAT is what bothers me the most. Sure, AI voice work is sketch, but nothing a patch and a simple apology couldn't solve. The rest of the mess is just bollocks in my eyes, pure and simple. Especially with Kane pouring more gas on the flames, the little weasel. No shade on the content creators either, what with them having to walk on eggshells all the time, took the safest route by being respectful to Scotty boy's request. All in all, hope the dev can use his skills more in the field, because he's clearly got talent!
Well actually, the only "bad" thing he did was the ai voice. Technically his final product released was "fnaf plus restored", not "fnaf plus".
Also its pretty egotistical to call out someone for "not making the real thing", when "the real thing" was never fking made lmao. His fnaf plus is pretty much the real one.
Also the bs replies of "im not gonna tell you the differences between this and "real" fnaf plus." Im guessing thats because there would've been barely any actual differences, because making so much features is probably why it got scrapped when it got too hard. And claiming it was very different is just that - claiming.

Kinda shocked it took 3 years of teasers from the original FNaF plus just to get dropped, animations & more do take time when you're a one-man team however this had Scott's support, so IMO development seemed overly slow & kinda lazy if someone could recreate the visuals in a few months & create gameplay which actually differs from FNAF1

Why is this controversial at all lmao, fnaf plus is cancelled atp and if you ask me having something no matter how inferior is still better than having nothing at all. If the game isnt coming out, why cant someone else take the concept and flesh it out, especially when so many loved the idea? The only problems i find is the lack of credit to phisnom and the ai voice. Every other fangame uses a unique phone guy so theres really no point in trying to use scotts voice.
it was the AI voice. back when good AI voices started coming out it was a novelty but then when people started using them seriously for projects all of a sudden everyone decided AI voices were canceled and so decided cancel anyone who dared use them for a serious project. You noticed that the first bit a controversy that was posted for this fan game was the AI voice and the rest of the dominos fell.
the problem was the AI voice. the developer did make his own phone calls and asked scott if it was fine to put the game back up but he never got a response

@@ohenthevoidwatcher3939 the problem with (some) ai voices is that they're being made and used without the person's consent, and because making ai voices can mean that actual voice actors will be put out of business. Though I'm not sure if Scott actually cares about having an ai mimic his voice since he's not actually a voice actor.

Besides the AI voice stuff this has to be the laziest controversy ive ever seen, he did nothing wrong other than making a fangame for fun and having an optional donation.
It being mistaken for the real thing is also just people having horrible media literacy and relying on money hungry youtubers for their information.
IMO people being picky about AI voices are just being unreasonable. its a fan made project that doesnt gain money. And it was an acting performance, I could see it being an issue if it was scotts real voice but its "phone guys" voice with the filter built in.

@@blakelandry9313 AI voices are still kind of a grey area for most, but as long as it's nothing offensive and as long as it's non-commercial, there really shouldn't be anything illegal about using them even without the person's consent.
But, yeah, Scott's take on them is fair enough.
@blakelandry9313 Actually it depends on where you live mostly however its mostly legal to use someone voice without there concent as the laws haven't kept up with technology and the ai voice is a new concept it also depends on what your using it for as if your using it in a discriminatory manner then yes to a degree you have a case of defamation but in most cases it's legal depending on where you live

Hell, even if it was the first three games in one package, remade and with new features, it wouldn't take years to make.

(Also don't give me "NDA's" saying how people can't talk about FNAF Plus (Official) when the FNAF Fan Game Developers literally got to play the game for themselves and yet we as the public audience get nothing in return after waitng for Months and Months on end, only to end up with nothing) .
I hate to be that guy, but NDAs really are the issue. Those things are usually extremely thorough and limit devs to basically only occasionally revealing something from their own game. I wouldn't be surprised if their contracts also required them to run all their promo material past Scott before they could release it.
Them mfs first cancelled the original FNAF Plus and then went ahead and cancelled the fanmade version of what was already a fanmade project, that just happened to be supported directly by Scott. You can't have anything in this community man, everything is served with a side of drama, dipped in freshly made controversy sauce.
I'm trying to think of instances that don't involve drama but I'm coming up empty. Almost everything that happens now causes an internet war.
Personally if there was ever anyone in this controversy I'd give the stink eye to, it'd be Kane, not PawPlay. Kane didn't live up to his promise, so how can he say that his work was going to be better? Like people always say, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Kane didn't finish shooting his shot, and he's bitter that someone else came in and took the shot when he decided to step away. That's like a child telling another kid not to play with a toy, even though the first kid isn't playing with it either. He doesn't get to claim the territory of 'FNAF remake', no one does.

This remake was the most scared I've ever been when it comes to a FNAF game, only even come close to by Pizza Sim.
It is pretty immoral due to the AI voice and how Lost Paws didn't originally create FNAF+, didn't even credit Phisnom, and promoting it as the actual game was a mistake, but I'm very glad it exists because it's possibly my favorite FNAF game from a scare level. It's also all I have to cope, considering we will likely NEVER get what Phisnom was actually making. It's also why I'm not at all bothered about it being free despite how FNAF+ would've been a paid product. I do not believe it is in any universe immoral to create or try to recreate a cancelled game that we would never get otherwise. "FNAF+ was going to be a paid product" rings hollow to me because it was, not is. It no longer exist, unless some team is working in secret to release it on FNAF's 10 Year Anniversary, which I admit, would be pretty kick ass. Sure, we don't know for a fact that isn't what's happening, but I just find that highly unlikely.
(I am intentionally ignoring the original FNAF, since he mentioned future versions requiring FNAF on steam. Future versions which, unfortunately, may never exist.)
Even though he says he probably won't make more versions, I do hope he changes his mind, and that those versions aren't nearly as controvercial because there's really nothing else FNAF related that I can say I've been genuinely excited for and interested in since Sister Location. Not that FNAF has outright died for me, but I've only been half interested at best for anything surrounding the series.
Phisnom doesn't deserve credit. Nothing notable was ever even released and he purposefully made that happen. If there really wasn't any real info about the game given then why would he have to give him credit? Isn't it just another remake in that sense.

There's a reason the internet says "pics or it didn't happen". You can claim the guy making fnaf+ was going to make a game so amazing you developed the body of an adonis and should shoot hotdogs out of your eyes. You can claim it was going to be ten minutes long and just consist of a recording of a guy stuck on the toilet shitting his soul out over a microphone. You can claim it's literally anything, because you outright said you aren't going to provide proof to back up your claims, and the project was cancelled.

it’s a cesspool.
All in all, it doesn't sound like too bad of a game. Just not what was being promised. A lot of its mechanics feel very borrowed from other games. The ghost searching mechanic is a lot like Return to Bloody Nights. The Custom Night animations seem very similar to things like Tyke and Sons Lumber (who I think did that first?), and the Golden Freddy in the Kitchen bit has been done to death with many animations, fan games, and Gmod maps.
It feels heavily borrowed, but I'd totally play it if given the chance.

What will come out though? We saw no actual in game footage aside from the main menu, which was super basic and unimaginative as hell. Kane just talked and talked about a product nobody but him and Phil ever saw. As far as everyone can be concerned Fnaf Plus wasn't real.

I feel like LostPawPlay didn't have any bad intentions, and that this was just the result of him being socially unaware of how serious the controversy was. He seemed like he just wanted to make a fan game, and didn't think about the legality or ethics involved. To be honest, there's an alarming number of people who don't know that using someone's voice for AI without permission is wrong. There just needs to be more awareness spread about the ethics of using AI voices.

After Phisnom got cancelled, I was jut like, Fnaf Plus is dead, and so is about half of the fanverse. ONAF3 is the only game in the fanverse that's out so far, and the dev of that game got cancelled for valid reason. FNAC4 and Popgoes Evergreen aren't out yet, and FNAF Plus is dead. I'm honestly just glad Emil and Kane haven't had anything terrible happen on this level, excluding the situation with the pear and JRs.

First I'm gonna start with what I fully agree with here LostPawPlay should've credited Phisnom and should've either got rid of Phone Guy or just got a different voice actor. Other than that there is nothing I see wrong with what he did yes Kane said it wasn't close to fnaf+ but thats because we barely knew anything about fnaf+ we knew the character designs a few screen shots of gameplay and the layout with context that it was a remaster of fnaf 1 so LostPawPlay worked with what he had he didn't have the other mechanics Kane talked about so he didn't put them in he used what he knew and thats why its just fnaf 1 and i'll say it but better because thats all he had

That and the fact the dev was using this AI voice while also receiving donations despite the fact he wasn't using any real voice actor is the problem

I mean he's doing it just for fun. Donations link isn't a huge deal. Just assume it as a fangame or "demo" version of the game. Maybe not crediting the Original FNAF Plus creator and using AI voiceover is a mistake but hey he's just being a part of FNAF fan making FNAF content. They just killed one of talented FNAF game maker in the process. Hope he did not take that too seriously and maybe create one OC FNAF fangame just like Aftonbuilt.
It's like waiting GTA 6 to release, so people tend to recreate a game (or bootleg or something similar with that) to fill that gap.

I hate how FNAF plus never released 🙄 idgaf if the revival is not the same. Fan game devs ALWAYS do this, they make the scope of their game too large then they either never release it, or it’s super scuffed and doesn’t deliver on anything that was promised and sometimes even controversial. It’s not just FNAF too even sonic has this stuff happening to it. The worst part is he was getting paid. You can’t say FNAF plus was a paid product if it didn’t release.

My one complaint of FNaF Plus is the designs. They try too hard to be scary. I mean, Freddy and Bonnie are fine, but Chica and Foxy are a bit much for *kids mascots.*
