The MK3 Driver - Andy Timmons Full Range Overdrive is an overdrive workstation that allows you to orchestrate everything from a clean boost to a treble supercharger, a chimey tube-amp overdrive to a square-wave, germanium fuzz generator and more. The MK3 combines a three-control blues driver circuit with two switches for the voicing of Drive and Tone characteristics. Robert and Andy developed these switches to give players a broad range of drive tones. The Drive toggle engages two germanium diodes for a smoother, slightly compressed drive. Switch to Andy’s clipping style for a brighter and more articulate attack. Every part of the circuit has been optimized for tone and the demanding needs of a recording and touring artist such as Andy Timmons. This vs bd-2,or Waza Craft? I’m looking for my first blues driver pedal.
I have a BD-2 Waza. This is different but I wouldn’t say better. It’s a lot of option paralysis.
Get the Kelley Super Phat Mod, before a Waza Blues Driver. They sound the same as the normal Boss one.
If you don’t want the Andy Timmons more amp distortiony side, I’d look at the Super Phat or even the AT Super, because you could switch between them, if you did want the distortion.
What happened to the Super AT Mod pedal?
They’re out there.
I’ve been debating this or one of those, because I’d likely only use one at a time, and it has the same circuits.
But, these new ones sound just as good, and aren’t very expensive.
I have both Super AT Mod and MK3 (formally Muse). The Super AT has way more drive/distortion than the MK3. I have to turn the drive knob all the way max on the MK3 to mach the overdrive level on the Super AT Mod thats only set around 1-2 o'clock. The MK3 tends to be a bit more brighter sounding as well so I find myself turning down the tone knob however, the MK3 seems to be more musical and dynamic sounding. 🙂
Apparently this pedal doesn't function without a Strat plugged into it. Every. Demo. I've. Seen. Other guitars DO exist....
