    Every campground host should have one of these. Especially during fire season.

    Great project, use the metal sheet on the IBC to give another person a clue which way to set the valves for pumping water and for drawing water up. Pictures work best in a stress situation.

      That is exactly what i need to do to my similar fire trailer...... i live in Portugal now so writing in English wont be any good if i have a Portuguese guy with me

    Having just completed my own setup last month its worth time and money spent putting together best advice is fully camlock all your hose connections for quick attach and detach when you aren't using them
    I used a t piece with 2 valves for supply line to pump from tank and also a secondary one for suction also used the release outlet as my filler hose that goes right into the tank outlet on right side t piece connected to the tank outlet

    If you want to prevent water slosh, cheap baffling is use softball woofle balls, fill it up.

    Very nice build, that's going on my to do list!
    Don't forget to vent the top cap, that pump will collapse the ibc tote easily. Lol

      @aheindustries  Před rokem +2

      Thanks, yep you are absolutely right. I always leave the fill cap loose for that reason. It also has a 10mm hole in the centre of the cap anyway.

    Should put a hook on the side of the tank towards the front so you can drive and spray water and not drag the hose

    • @aheindustries
      @aheindustries  Před 20 dny

      There is a hook on the front for the suction hoses. Check out the other trailer build video which is more used for watering plants etc

    nice job .i find when hauling liquid having tank baffles is a lifesaver . Baffle balls are great but not cheap . Slotted drain coil (called Big O in in my neck of the woods ) is a very cost effective solution (easy to find bunnings has it )very cheap or even free if old scrap or damaged . That way you dont slosh if you have to move with less than a full tank especially on something lite like a quad . thats what i am using in my ibc .

    • @aheindustries
      @aheindustries  Před rokem

    couple of suggestions. 1. Check your audio before releasing a video...constantly having to adjust my volume. Not cool. 2. A lot of great work for a mediocre volume and pressure...get a higher HP engine and bigger hose. 3. Nice work...great video except for volume auditing. Thumbs up mate.

    Great video. No need for the top hose going into the IBC as you can fill the tank up from the bottom existing outlet.

    Very nice build. Thanks for sharing. Been meaning to build something like this myself using an old water tote. Couple of questions for you....
    Is that a 1000 litre tote? When it's full, could you pull it with the quad? I guess because of the trailer tire height and when hooked up to the quad there is a definite front slope towards the hitch. Would that not put too much weight on the hitch when full? What size are the rear tires/rims.
    What is the weight rating on those axles?
    Thanks again for this video. I'm a little ways from you in Canada here.

    • @aheindustries
      @aheindustries  Před rokem +1

      Thanks mate!
      Correct, they are 1000 litre "totes" we call them IBC's here in Aus :)
      Yep, quad can pull it ok when full. I use low range 4x4 though so I don't over work the CVT.
      Keep in mind I definitely wouldn't be going up or down any steep inclines when full, it would weigh 3 times the quad and rider so it would end in tears pretty quickly.
      Ball weight isn't too bad when full, I can actually pick the hitch end up quite easily which is what I wanted to be able to hook it up quickly in an emergency. Keep in mind when its full if you are going uphill it will be negative ball weight and downhill you will get more ball weight.
      Obviously this has all to do with the axle position.
      I used 45mm square axles which are rated to 1500kg
      Wheels are factory VDJ 76 and 79 Landcruiser items, 16 inch. Can't remember tyre size off the top of my head and I can't be bothered running down to the sheds lol. If I was to ever replace the tyres I think I would go with a slightly smaller profile. I was just using what I had. The 3rd one I made with the ford rims sat a bit nicer as it was lower to the ground.
      Thanks a lot for the comment mate, you live in a lovely part of the world! I need to get over there one day soon :)
