Couple things:
- There is no risk of save corruption. The realmaster sword and msgnotfound are 2 different weapons
- You cannot fuse items to this sword regularly. Using other glitches, it then becomes possible
- The reason this works is because that location in the shrine matches coordinates with below hyrule castle. Make sure to stand in the exact locations provided
- It has a special glow that the real master sword doesn't :)

I found it easier to get a weapon into the below castle section by fusing two boulders and sitting them up at the spot shown in the video. Doing the trick from higher up meant my weapon didn't clip into the ground and become unreachable like it did in my first attempt. So if others have issues with their shrine weapon partially clipped into the hallway stairs like it did for me doing the stacked rock trick will get around that. ;)
Replaced all my elemental rods with master swords all equipped with gems.
U sure the glitch cant destroy a save file? I got the glitched one first and i cant use the throw beam now or is there and requirement to use it?

This is just an extension of the regular weapon duplication. It just so happens that the coordinates line up here. I bet there are other locations in other shrines, this is just the earliest one found.
This was honestly a very easy glitch to find. I just got the game yesterday, wasn't even trying to find glitches... I was just playing the game normally for about 4 or 5 hours and stumbled across this glitch purely by accident/coincidence. I bet the same thing happened to at least half of the people who have the game.

@@supramanx3053 I'm not the only one. If you look at forums, streaming sites, etc. there are a bunch of people who did this without realizing it and were baffled as to how the Master Sword just mysteriously reappeared in their inventory.
Success! I did it myself despite being late in my quest. You can do this at ANY POINT in your save as long as you have made it to that shrine at least!. So here's my tips to make it easier base on my experience doing it:
1. Don't go too far down the hallway leading to Gannondorf or Zelda will stop you from going back which might make the weapon unreachable. Reaching the mural room is close enough and you can just pick it up on your way down the final hallway. It's not important where you are when you hard save. Just make sure you do the item dupe of the Master Sword at the point you find your shrine weapon! Don't move from that spot else the master sword could spawn out of bounds in the shrine later!
2. Stock up on auto saves so you don't lose any important parts of your previous quest.
3. When doing the rock...do two and stack them up. It appears elevation is key. On my first attempt my sword glitched through the floor and only the rock attached to it was visible above ground. This meant my position on the initial rock wasn't high enough. So I did it again but this time I fused two rocks together and stood them up against the wall. This easily put the weapon in range. This also meant the Master Sword upon going to the shrine was less likely to end up underground/in the wall.
I can drop this version of the sword so I will definitely attempt to display it at Link's house and attempt Rock Octorock upgrades. I'm gonna item dupe it at the house if I can display it so I always have one there incase I need it. :D
This exploit might be possible in other shrines. There could be a shrine that makes getting the Master Sword easier or happen sooner in the trip with Zelda which could save time. I emplore folks to experiment with this. ;)
No weapon durability for this fake master Sword? No need for the recharging bullshit after a few hits? Does it always deal maximum damage since it's in presence of ganon mode ? If so it's better than the real one and you don't even need to get it. Or you can postpone it to the end of the game
@@Daredevil_10_ It did the glow mode thing when I was attacking a certain gloom enemy so maybe it goes boost mode like the real one...Hard to say. :P I don't have a similar 30 power weapon to compare against at the moment. After fighting things with it, it's icon in the inventory still has that "unused" weapon glint flash to it so yeah it does appear to be unbreakable.

@@luigivelez From what I recall the start of game sequence autosaves at least twice I think. When I "stocked up" on autosaves I did so by visiting different locations and such. Going back and fourth between 2 locations isn't enough as the game only updates one of the auto save slots. It took maybe about 10 minutes of running around before I had most of my autosave slots contain what I wanted to keep. Then I started the process for duping the Master Sword into one of my main quest autosaves.
Some changes i made for it to work : 1)Use 2 big boulders and stand on top of them. Align to the vertical line on the wall. 2)after u drop the weapon for the last time, DO NOT go back to the game screen. Stay at the pause screen and choose load 3)After getting the weapon in the starting area, DO NOT save. Just load back your hard save to get back into the shrine and pick up the weapon.
The biggest problem with many youtubers is that they are copying each other methods and posting it online, always they ask u to do a hard save in the prologue. Never do that in any way as it risks the many hours you could have put into the game. SKIP that step pls.

Yeah this works, no need to do all the risky save bullshit.
Definitely is quite amazing regardless of how far in a playthrough as it has infinite durability (not even a 10 minute cooldown) used it for multiple encounters for a whole hour and no damage at all 👀

Thank you kindly, much easier strat than what I have seen before. Here's my advise though: If you want to easily smuggle the Fakestersword over to the full save-file, do make sure that you drop it at the exact location where you have found the smuggled weapon, to make sure that you are standing correctly. I tried it before without standing at the exact spot where I could pick it up, it did not work. So I brought a second weapon over and that showed me the perfect spot.
Yep. I had to send another one back over to see where it landed. A couple steps too far is make-it-or-break-it.

Very useful weapon to use for fighting and farming wood.
Note that your save at the shrine must be "autosave". Otherwise, your hard save will be overriden later. I messed up the first time I tried it after playing for 20 hours.

It worked for me how you explained, and had the right spot at the stairs area. I did see someone else's video before you, and he said the wrong spots and made it look like it worked. He also promised it wouldn't mess anything up. Yet during the time doing this, I lost my original save and data from my day one save.
I'm just glad you didn't promise anything. So at least you didn't give me false hope that I'd be okay.

if you cannot send weapon back to beginning, try stack two big rocks and drop your weapon from top, it may work like a charm!

Another helpful tip. Not only is two boulders high easier to get the sword from shrine. But dropping the master sword on the same spot the weapon spawn in allows it to be found in the shrine. I managed to (on a second dupe run) get my rock hammer stuck in the ground so I could stand atop it without it sliding away.
Its a bit past the leveling off bit of the stairs.

I had such a hard time with this, that I took a moment to just unwind and shield surf around in the shrine, ended up being the best idea I'd ever done as the height showed me that the master sword was just slightly above me in a wall, got a rock and boom, I finally had it!!

How do you know if you did the ++ glitch successfully? EDIT: You will not know if you did the glitch properly. there is no real indication of whether or not you are successful. You're going to just have to assume that you did it right. To elaborate on the glitch a bit further because I found the video somewhat confusing because of the way it was edited; you'll get as close to the wall as you can while standing on two rocks fused together against the wall in the spot shown in the video. The guy uses one rock in the video but if you used two rocks it's almost certain to work. You will face the wall and enter your weapons menu. You should have a rock hammer equipped in the first slot of the second row of items and another weapon to the right of it. You will drop the rock hammer without closing the menu and equip the weapon to the right of the item that you dropped. You will then quickly press the plus button twice to open and close the menu very very quickly. You will then drop the weapon that you had equipped. What's actually happening in this glitches that you are dropping an item and then equipping another item. The first item does not start dropping until you exit the menu and it is not technically in the world until it hits the ground. By opening and closing the menu very fast and then dropping another item you're basically creating a stack of items that have not touched the ground yet. These items are being stacked in the air and a specific x,y and z coordinate. The reason that the duplicated weapon shows up underground under the Hyrule Castle is because that is the same coordinate as The ones where the item stack was dropped. The game stores information in ram and that bit of info seems to carry over when you load in the same area, but a different instance. Its like they reused a cell. The tunnel is replaced by the temple area in spacetime after the event if that makes sense.

For anyone else curious, if you have maxed inventory, drop your items so that the rock hammer is in the first slot of second row.
There's a small rock, in the water near to where you have to stack the boulders, if you need one. It can be any rock hammer (mine happened to be with a forest dwellers sword).
I don't know if it works for other weapons, but I followed the above instructions and it worked first time.

You do not have to see the deku tree as of 1.1.2, instead you only need 2 full stamina wheels. The deku tree only tells you where it is, however waiting at the Southern Lanayru Sky Archipelago, you can find the dragon of light without fighting gloom ganon, and get the master sword after getting only [4] or [20] shrines completed. [depends on how far you get in the main story for heart vessels to swap to stamina]

Took me so many attempts to get the master sword to actually be in the shrine but after walking up and down doing the glitch to drop it in the hallway under Hyrule castle it was finally on the shrine. I had to drop it way closer to the top since my weapon was all the way at the bottom when I did the glitch
I didn't do the hard save the game does an autosave after link hits those bats thats nice enough cause you dont override your main save and its a nice point to keep doing it the higher the rock position the better for me it seemed

Damn it took me over an hour but I finally did it. Stacking the two rocks and doing the second hard save EXACTLY at the spot where the first weapon drops underneath the castle is what seemed to do the trick. Good luck to everyone still trying. Really hope this doesn't get patched.
There are just sooo many things I hope won't get patched... There's so many I hope it's too much to bother or that they just realize it's part of the fun of the game...

If you did all those right and still can't find the master sword at shrine, go ahead and place that rock again there and jump on it. The master sword should be glitched into the wall...
I love the idea of getting it early in both games, but for that first play through I'll go with the legit way first. If we get a master mode of this game though.... I'm gonna exploit the hell out of it with what I can xD

I found out the master sword can break rocks in 1 hit, and luckily I never updated my game, so now I have a dedicated rock smacker! It was getting expensive remaking the Boulder breaker over and over again.

Not gonna lie, this is awesome. I got the Ocarina of Time outfit, duped the Hylian Shield and now got the unbreakable MsgNotFound-Sword. Now I can play Zelda with a pretty cool Ocarina of Time Link!

can this be done if you've put hours into the game? Like can I just travel back to the shrine and do this? Also, any risk of possibly overwriting your only saved game? You can only have like 5 saves in this game right?
Theoretically you can do this at any point in your game, as long as you go to that shrine
Edit: I tried it on my current save and was able to get a weapon under hyrule castle, but not the other way around. I tried again and I wasn’t able to get any weapons under the castle

Weird thing happened by me.
So I thought I failed to get the master sword to the shrine save. Just as I put the big stone at the location and stood on it close to the wall, I see the press A to get the sword message. So if it does not work try to stand exactly like you did when you dropped the original sword to the new game.

Thx for your comment , it helped me. Yes, if you can’t find the sword in the shrine then it’s in the wall, so use the rock to get as close to the wall as poss. at the same spot you dropped your weapon. also make sure to drop you msgnotfound at the same spot as you find the other weapon.
I can also confirm this is true, I had to use boulders to climb up in the shrine and find the sword inside the wall. (jumping is not enough to find it)
Got it first try yesterday. This glitch is so damn strange I can’t figure out why or how it even works. Like how are we transferring a weapon through saves in totally different locations. I don’t get it lol
Save file only load inventory data, locations, the inventory system doesn't reload, the dev might not clean up task when changing the savw files, and then when you drop your weapon, and load other save, the drop command somehow still process in the new save file, causing droping the item that is from other inventory

I managed to do this glitch without having to make a new save file, just follow the same steps and you should get it 👍 (my current file has 20 hearts, so hearts probably don't matter)
Quick question is the fast + + perhaps way harder when you use a pro controller instead of the controller connected to the switch?
I saw someone post in another video and I confirmed this: if your Master Sword gets stuck in the wall, bring one of the boulders over and stand on it, you may be able to grab the sword from the wall.
Can you just go right to that specific shrine or do you have to do all of the shrines first?

ONLY DO THIS ON A NEW SAVE.. i saw guys say that they lost hearts shrines and other stuff, so only do this at the start of the game to prevent any inverse effects.

Fyi ,i used modded savegame that contain msgNotFound sword and if you pick the real master sword from that dragon ,it will not register as original Master Sword basically your savegame is broken and you need to remove it before Pick from the dragon
I see where you go to the load selection and you select the option but it goes back out to the gameplay of you being in the shrine, how do you accomplish that.
I'm still on 1.1.1, and being trying to do this, but I can't seem to be able to do so. So, I was wondering how do you know that you done the plus, pluse successfully? As I can copy the weapons outside the shrine, but I'm uanble to do this.
Just a quick clarification you said FINISH the tutorial island first and then I assume RETURN to In-isa shrine after you've completed the tutorial island right..?

Took around 56 tries and 1 hours of trying. ....and master sword spawned near the wall - it was not visible but i was able to pick it up in the shrine. - run along the wall to double check the MSG message to show up.
tip: when you drop the weapons - make sure you exit and enter your menu as fast as possible.
Awesome 👌 still works as of version 1.1.1 anyone thats lost there save etc are doing something wrong.

Can this be done on any save file, and without hardsaving the prologue? I don't want to restart my file but I want to capitalize on this since it could be patched any day.

yo, i’m on 1.1.0, does the first in-isa shrine save have to be an auto save? i’m doing this at the end of my play through, and so it doesn’t auto save when i walk in the shrine

To get the master sword back do you need to be against a wall? My weapon spawns in the middle of the hallway
I've finished the game and don't want to lose my save, if I start a new game to do this glitch will it delete the previous save files? (I want to do this as it's prob a glitched item you won't be able to obtain once patched)

I did exactly all the steps that you suggested. I have the 1.1.1 version but for some reason, I didn't manage to drop my weapon correctly because after 20 attempts, I still couldn't see my dropped weapon underneath the castle.
I decided to go slowly and let the movies played all the way (underneath the castle). It saved my game with the automatic saves 6 times !!! NO MORE "IN ISA SHRINE SAVES" !!! Is there any chance or ways to get my game back ??

what happens if you fuse the msgnotfound to a normal weapon while its on the ground, then break the weapon?
I assume you could do this at any point in your save? I've already progressed very far into my game. So as long as I make sure I have enough autosaves I can start new game and start this process to get it? It looks like it doesn't treat this sword the same as the proper one. Might be able to fuse/unfuse materials to it and perhaps even put it on display at the dream house. (you normally can't unfuse materials from Master Sword even with the NPC at Terry town)
I have a hacked switch so can always backup my save before I attempt this. :D
Also assuming the game let's you drop the weapon I would love to attempt having a Rock Octorock swallow it to see if I can upgrade it. :D

@@PhillyBeatzU I have done this succesfully. It doesn't matter where you are in your game as long as you have unlocked that shrine! (I now have 2 Master Swords lol) Also I can still drop it so I will definitely try displaying it at Link's house and doing the Rock Octrorock upgrade attempt. :D

EDIT:
Ok found out some things.
1. Can't display it at Link's house. It treats it just like the proper Master Sword and gives you same message. :(
2. You can't fuse stuff to it nor can you fuse it to anything. If you try to fuse something to it it will say "You can't fuse to this equipment" or something to that effect. You can't fuse it to other things because the fuse ability can't select it.
3. Rock Octorocks spit it out immedietely like the amiibo stuff so sadly can't be upgraded. This means this sword is technically weaker then the proper Master Sword. I checked my save via a save editor. The "proper" Master Sword you get later in the game has a base power of 40. This one has a base power of 30. But if it's unbreakable as you say it's a good fall back weapon at least. :D
So all in all you can't really do anything interesting beyond simply having itand using it to attack things. :P
You can item dupe it just like other weapons so I now got two of them. Just in case one does some how break. Maybe the durability is really high but I won't know for sure until I use it more.

I tried a veriation of this trick to teleport weapons into other shrines. (aka the ones that take your equipment away) and failed. It does appear each shrine has unique map cooridents (relative to it's entrance that is) That or they all share the same world space similar to how the Master Sword Trial areas worked in BoTW. If that was the case it wouldn't be possilbe to teleport weapons into other shrines. If however they simply have different cooridents for their starting areas compared to other shrines then someone will just have to grind shrine combos to try and find one usable for teleporting a weapon into a specific target shrine. :P
Oh by the way the sword beams from the cutscene sword seem to work even if you aren't at full health...that's interesting. That means if somehow you took damage from those keese during the below castle thing you could still use the sword beam there too though there wouldn't really be anything else to attack after that so I guess they didn't bother coding that functionallty in. Just made it able to always do it and not worry about it being HP dependent.
I wonder if this sword's power doubles when attacking gloom stuff like the proper one .. probably does. Though unsure if that one did either. I do know in BoTW when the sword is in glow mode it does 60 damage instead of 30 (prior to doing the Master trials that is) so that might be a thing in this game too. Really sucks I can't use rock octorocks on it. :(

It didn't came out a few days ago, it was already leaked two weeks ago from the released day, and month before for the press and youtubers. People had plenty of time finding glitches, they just couldn't upload because otherwise Nintendo would have taken down their channels.
