idk why but whenever i hear Ranbir talking in his interviews it feels like a friend sharing his personal experience. I guess one of the main reason for this is the lack of unnecessary forced jokes and laughs that many entertainers tend to do in lots of interview.

  • @likeconfetti7064

    1. I'm blown away by how relatable, intelligent, articulate, likable he is. Also, I love him so much for the fondness with which he talks about his work. The same shines through each of his performances. Best actor to have come along in quite a few generations.
    2. Movies like YJHD and Ae Dil are good, but also nothing out of the ordinary. But films like Rocket Singh, Tamasha, Wake Up Sid, Barfi, Jagga Josoos are life changing. I hope he never apologizes for these films. I actually liked Bombay Velvet too (hated Besharam, though).
    3. I believe that films are a reflection of the people who make them too. So I really wish that this Luv Ranjan film is nothing like the previous ones, because I'd find it really difficult to respect the actor who was a part of that- no matter how wonderful an actor I thought they were or how much I loved them otherwise. I hope my faith in Ranbir's judgement is well placed. I really do look up to him a whole lot.
    4. I keep wishing, like Anupama was, throughout this interview I think, that he educated himself more on issues of gender.Actors are influencers. The people we look up to, should use their privilege in making the world a better place. I already love him a strange amount, this would mean so much💜
    5. I hope he works with the women who are writing and/or directing right now- they’re making the best content in the industry by a huge margin- Gauri Shinde, Zoya Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Juhi Chaturvedi, Meghna Gulzar.
    6. Also super yay for having quit smoking, that made me genuinely happy and proud.
I dont know who I wrote this out for, oh well 🙃

Ranbir is the most down to earth Superstar ever. I think people get away with questioning his dedication because he believes in quietly doing his work rather than showing off. He is one of the few superstar actors who has never taken his audience for granted and has always strived to give his 200 percent in all his movies. He is also extremely honest to his craft and has been true to himself. Despite being a superstar he has never hesitated in choosing cinema he believes in regardless of it's box office fate. His passion for Cinema was evident right from the time he started assisting Mr SLB. I love ranbir because of the films he has chosen and not inspite of them. he is a master of nuance if you've seen his films you'll know what i mean. He is shy yes and it's obvious he suffers from social anxiety that is why he struggles to make eye contact not because he is rude or arrogant. He asked Anupama about misogyny because he did not know how to pronounce the word and was humble enough to ask. why do people always have to think the worst of him? Why can't they just accept him for who and how he is? And once and for all why is his love life anyone's business and who gave people the right to judge him ? And yes I have loved all his movies Rockstar Tamasha Jagga Jasoos Bombay Velvet and Besharam. It's high time the world wakes up to this man's talent coz he deserves it more than anybody else in the industry. Sanju kickstarts the Rk era and I for one can't wait to see his rise to megastardom.

It’s sad that the failure of some of his films has changed his thought process and now he believes films can only entertain and not save the world. Tamasha has literally changed the lives of so many people and saved them from losing themselves. Films like Rocket Singh, Barfi or Jagga made heroes out of seemingly unremarkable or handicapped people who the society kind of looks down upon. Even a commercial dharma affair like yjhd or wake up sid has a strong influence on the younger generation and can give them some clarity about life, through entertainment. The ending of Jagga makes such an important commentary about war which is a first for Hindi cinema..I wish more people saw that movie. If not save the world, films can definitely change it for the better. I hope he still secretly believes in that and won’t lose that side of him in the bid to build his superstardom.

along with his father's legacy (RIP rishi sir), I also see a lot of his mother's characteristics in him, the one and only neetu singh.
i think his mother's upbringing and her influence is a big part of what keeps him grounded and well-behaved. she knows the struggle; she entered the film industry as a total outsider in those days, and became one of the most successful actresses on her own. she knows how cut throat the industry is, and im sure she must have raised both her kids with that in mind.
that's why ranbir kapoor is an established actor, and not just another nepotism product like varun dhawan, ananya pandey, or arjun kapoor (his distant relative).

Girish Gowda exactly. Otherwise if only Nepotism could make you a big star, Fardeen Khan, Zayd Khan, Bobby Deol and Harshvardhan Kapoor would have been the biggest stars of their respective eras. At the end of the day, if the audience doesn't accept you, you're not gonna make it big no matter how big your parents are

Devesh Pande yeah. But as an audience I believe Harshvardhan kapoor has the potential. He's been brave with choices. :)

Girish Gowda if only choices can make u good actor than there are lot of good actor who had taken risk ...but as being actor someone have guts to make justice to charracter with his acting and he didn't in bhavesh Joshi ...there was lot which could have been done and Varun is successful because he is choosing masala films and he is somehow good looking too and audience got attracted to him unlike harshvardhan and Arjun Kapoor they are not even good-looking and not good actors too

Great interview. Just a qualm, when Anupama asks Ranbir about not doing a two-hero film, hope she doesn't mistake that for his not wanting to share the light because, in fact, even other than rajneeti which he mentions, many of his films have equally important female characters. There doesn't need to be another prominent male co-star to make the movie a 'two-hero' film. In movies like barfi and Anjana anjani, Priyanka Chopra's characters are equally significant and protagonistic, same about deepika's characters in Tamasha, YJHD and Konkana in Wake Up Sid. Unlike some older films where Amitabh and shashi kapoor used to be the two-heroes and female characters would fiddle around them, these characters are not second fiddle to the heroes, they are the other 'hero' of that films and most of the plot revolves around them. Anupama, who easily accuses Luv Ranjan's films of misogyny, should maybe reflect upon her understanding of a 'hero' as well.

Agree considering Befikre was her favourite movie in which Ranvir Singh's character is a misogynist but Anupama not only ignored it but praised it as well double standards.
