One of the greatest feelings as a band would be exactly this. You’re performing live and the crowd sings along word for word as you play a song. That’s how you know how much your music is loved by your fans.
Also coming back damn near 10 years later (2013) and getting the same kind of crowd. Watch the Boulevard Of Broken Dreams performance from Reading Festival 2013 and he's practically on some Freddy Mercury shit

You can really see and hear just how important Tre is to the band here. His big drum sound and unworldly fill is just a step ahead of anyone else out there. It's crazy!
They really all are equally important IMO. Billie's the fuel, Dirnt and Tre are the Oxygen and Heat. Don't have a fire without all three elements. Only one that could probably hold his own in place of all of them is Billie himself

Jeff, Jason, Jason and for 2020 Kevin, are only on tour with them and play on live shows.
However on this show, they are only 3 and so they were when they wrote the song.

I was there! The audience was hyped because we had successfully bottled off 50 Cent (who played just before) and Green Day played an extra long set to cover up the time.
I was also there , I also remember 50 cent lasting about 3 songs lol we are the champions was a highlight

One of the MANY THINGS I Love About Green Day is How Much ENERGY They Put (Not Just into their Music/Songs, But...) out in Their LIVE Performances. It Just SOAKS INTO Everyone & Makes For 1 Hell of a GREAT Experience!! ANY Ticket 2SEE Them is WORTH EVERY PENNY!!
I was there, aged 16…still remember it as one of the best sets of the whole weekend. Especially since it came after 50 Cent getting successfully bottled off stage.

Reading this has made me realize that I regret not going to more shows when I was younger. Im only thirty five but these days it seems like you have to really try to find good bands out there. I remember sneaking to watch MTV late at night when I was kid and one out of every two or three songs would be something good.
I got sidetracked. Lol Anyway I wanted to ask who else you got to see at the show and who was your favorite ?
@@benbrice9343 I vaguely remember these homemade pamphlets doing the rounds across my campground that were encouraging people to go to the main stage for his set prepped with bottles or anything else that could be used to throw. It was an orchestrated campaign... 😆
Unfortunately at the time (2004) my favourite band was Lostprophets, so back in the day that was by far the highlight of the whole weekend. I had two disposable cameras and at least 30 of the pics are just blurry photos of their set. 🤦🏼♀️
Apart from that, I remember enjoying Ash, The Darkness, Hundred Reasons, Placebo, Funeral for a Friend, Bloc Party, Coheed and Cambria, Graham Coxon and many more that I don’t remember…
Forever grateful to my parents for letting me go off with my friends to Reading the day I got my GCSE results and after just recently turning 16… Those were the days! 😌

Goes to show the importance of sheer soul. That is a cheap guitar, his mother bought him when he was 12. His set up is very simple. He doesn't use a lot of processors and effects. Just a distortion pedal. The pickups are a huge variable too. But most of the sound comes from his hands.

Saw the first of a Greenday concert at Hershey PA. Waiting for 20yrs.whatawait.my brother and I haven't been able to my brother had a massive heart attack in 2020.i was able to go my husband and I had a great time but I will never forget that. Mike I was in your heart and your head and sister in soulfulness and we're gonna be together in myheartfo forever. Loveyoubrother.

This was for sure one of their best shows. This was maybe one or two months before SummerSonic Japan when I saw them for the first time. Just before American Idiot album was released. Such great times, they still played some songs as a trio. Such a powerful band.
