I think it's important that while speculation can be fun ,let's not forget that favouritism is not Rita's fault but producers and the team behind the show . Rita is only a contestant and searching for someone to blame can be really dangerous , especially if you have just listened to Rita talking about her experience on season one of CDR.

@@brentbentKRFP thinking that Rita can only do good because she has producer's help is undermining all the work that she did and all the growth she experienced since season one. We also have to ,as a fandom that wants to support queer artists and see them succeed, take into account that a tv show is not representative of the reality ,that there is editing and storylines and plot points to make conversations about.
I don't understand your argument about the not so slender person. Rita has been working hard , especially in Quebec , to speak out about numerous issues related to queer culture and the art of drag while having a more mainstream audience.
This fandom has been really negative towards Rita and I think that it's time that this narrative stops , especially since it's not her fault

Things she did or said or wore (although I am NOT co-signing her ball look for the Y2K runway challenge) might have been received differently by the audience, but the Canadian panel might have been acknowledging/celebrating her regional difference!

I don’t get why Bussy put Icesis’ “keep the crown in Canada” and Vanity and Rajah’s “favoritism” comments together to target just Rita. 1st off, if I was a producer, I would probably hype Icesis or any contestant up and tell them to “keep/take the crown for Canada!” A producer saying something like that doesn’t necessarily mean they would give her the crown. Do you think they told Kendal and Stephanie “Ok, you can join the show, but you’re not getting the crown”? They most likely gave them that cheerleader speech, too, to get them to sign the contract and hype them up to do their best. 2nd, there really is no way for us to truly know who the target of the favoritism. Bussy keeps pointing it to Rita, but what if there was more than one person who benefitted from that favoritism. I love both Vanity and Rajah, but them saying “we didn’t feel favored!” doesn’t prove they were or weren’t being favored… Anyways, this was a long rant but I’m just sick of everyone throwing stones at Rita when we will never now any of the truths behind the scenes. I mean I think that the lip sync for the crown is a bit unfair in an all stars season. The best people of the season have already been seen lip syncing and it gets a bit stale (which isn’t their fault). This is what I think really worked in raja’s favour as her iconic dance moves hadn’t really been seen in this season. The queens who have lip synced the most also seem to lose momentum with each lip sync. Idk what they could do but I think it needs a spice up.

She did good - but not the best and had no real "wow"-moment as we had just so recently seen her on TV (and on AS6 she had engaging and surprising moments with a rudemption arc).

To be honest: If Icesis stayed in the competition, it would have been very likely that 'the crown remained in Canada' because in my opinion, she was the strongest competitor on that season. The only reason that she wouldn't have won would either be if she was pangina'ed or if she would have been so bad in the lipsync smackdown that the producers couldn't justify her win. I am a bit disappointed that they even considered doing a lipsync smackdown instead of a music video with speeches to crown the strongest competitor at that particular moment - which is Victoria. But hey, condragulations to Ra'Jah.

It would be kind of foolish to only favour Rita if they really wanted to keep the title in Canada. Icesis was a strong competitor and the wise choice would be to push at least both Icesis and Rita. The favouritism might not just show in the placements, but it may be during the process (like instructing queens to do certain things that the production believes would work well in the challenges)

I think another thing to consider in all of this is it might not be favoritism towards just one queen. Just because multiple queens mentioned favoritism doesn't necessarily mean it was all the same instance/pattern. Not to mention, production can change their mind as to who's their favorite mid season, we have no real way of knowing.
While I don't doubt Icesis' story, considering how quickly Canadian queens' numbers went, its also possible that production couldn't stick with the plan to keep it in Canada and had to forcibly change how things were going to adjust. They'd have to be pretty heavy handed in doing it in order to get it done, which might explain things getting to a point where Rajah felt the need to step in.
And when it comes to Rita, we've seen plenty of ways that production shows their hand to help a queen (to name a few: 'randomly assigned' roles that suit them, gentle bordering on illogical critiques, even fully changing the song they're supposed to lip sync to) and I didn't really notice any of that with Rita before or after she was the last Canadian standing. Her record was basically the same before and after Icesis left, she just happened to split her winners' lip sync. Especially with it being CDR producers, who were arguably the most obvious in their controlling of the narrative going all the way back to CDR1, I feel like they would have given a much more noticeable push
