@@diorv - Sorry I didn't get that memo in 2019 that people will stop wearing skinny jeans and go back to baggy shit. Plus I don't hang out with too many teenagers so I'm not hip on the current trends, nor do I want to be. Even still today, I don't see anyone wearing baggy clothes.
Same here, my friends in highschool (actually not good friends) always made fun of me and said awful things because i was the only one that didn't like tight jeans
I needed to hem my teenage daughter’s jeans, and I wanted to keep the original hem. This tutorial is fantastic. I followed the instructions exactly and the alteration turned out perfectly. I’m so glad I tried it, even though it was a little more involved than the way I typically hem pants.
You do it so neatly and professionally! I love how you are so thorough. Totally subbed! I don't think my sewing level is quite at your level but I'll keep trying!
You are the only person I found that tucks the hem up into the original hem like I wanted to do! Everyone else does the lazy way where then you can't cuff the pant leg up because there is an alteration mark showing. So thanks 😊
Oh really? Yeah I have done it before without concealing the raw edges but I was always so self conscious about it potentially flipping up ahaha. I think most tailors conceal it this way too, it wasn't my idea :)
Hey dude you're a genius, thank you so much. I tried doing something similar before and it looked pitiful; your results are awesome 🥰 Definitely making myself busy doing this during quarantine 🙏
Wonderful video. Just enough information without being too wordy!! Easy to follow your instructions. Concise and to the point. I hate when people go on and on about things not pertaining to the subject. You did it great !!! Thanks Lydia. And my hubby with the stubby legs thanks you also !!!
GREAT tutorial! I was dreading hemming my jeans because I was terrified of messing them up. But your tutorial is straightforward and easy to follow. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this! I have a son with really short legs and it’s so hard to find jeans to fit him. I’ve tried other methods to hem them, but yours is the first that I was able to make them look professionally sewn. Thank you!!
Enjoyed watching 1st technique. Both nice. Also bought a leather thumbnail with a thin piece of metal insert to make pushing through thick fabrics a breeze. Really was intended for quilting. Subscribed to a great expert! Thanks a million stitches!
This is ingenious! I’ve been tailoring for the past 3 years and never run across this method before. I will definitely have to try it out. Keep the videos, especially alteration ones coming!
I am so glad it was helpful Natalie, the first method is a common technique that is rarely taught, I will not lay claim to its geniusness! The second method is something I noticed on a thrifted pair of pants I had purchased and decided to try. Annd the hammer technique was a tip I picked up from The Sewing Education Channel and my mom.
My poor momma is 5’0” and she always has me hem her pants. This video helped me so I could keep the original hemline on all her jeans, she’s so happy now so thank you💕💕💕
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! you are a lifesaver... I really didn't want to cut my jeans I just bought that are too long, so I'm definitely going to use the second method you showed♥️
OMGGGGG I should’ve done this before I cut my jeans, I’m so upset rn I literally just cut my jeans yesterday and god was like here’s a video on how to make ur life easier 😭
LOVE your video and your wonderful explanation. I wish I took a before photo of the jeans I hemmed thanks to you. Thank you soo much for posting your tutorial.
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!! You are SO clever. I absolutely LOVE these methods. I'm not short-short, but my legs are, so I have to hem and mend Every. Single. Pair. Of. Pants. GRRR!!! I've always hated how I lost the original hem of jeans!!! No longer. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I got a couple pairs of flared jeans that are just way too long, now I can save them from the bottom of my wardrobe😂
Omg! Method 1 - This is exactly the way I’ve been searching for as I think this is how my tailor does it! Thank you! Now I just hope I can do this on my own! 🙌👍
i did that once in the past and never wanted to wear my jeans (bell bottoms) because I was so afraid they would flip up and show! When I discovered this method I was overjoyed!!
Just hemmed my first pair of jeans using the first method!! I’ve been too scared to try for the longest time but this video really simplified the process, it was super easy and I do plan on continuing to use this method. Thank you for putting out this video it was super helpful!
Excellent tutorial. I’m short & must always cut off excess length on my pants but jeans are the hardest to get the look of an original hem. And I’ve just bought a pair that are sitting in my alterations pike that need doing. I found this just in time, thanks.
This ist the highest level of hemming i saved the video to refresh my memoriy if i forget it .. i thank you very much for giving us this amazing idea🌺🌸
It was a video that made me think that how to repair and wear a very common kind of costume could determine the person's impression. Thank you for the useful video.
I saw your method today. So I got the Jeans i stole from my Hubby that fit around my butt and waist but were way to long for me. I followed your tutorial and BOOOM they now fit me perfectly. THANK YOU!! Subscribed right away! Greetings from Germany

Funny how baggy jeans are in trend now, back then ppl made fun of me for wearing loose jeans🙄
Well, trends come and go, live your own personality and don’t be pushed around by the Lemmings of society!! 😉💕
Baggy jeans are back? I see nothing but tight jeans for the last several years. I'm kind of sick of it.
@@butchvito do you live under a rock? Baggy jeans were back since 2019, in the younger generations at least
