    Been a Yankee fan since I sat in the left field bleachers when I was 8. I am 66 now. Mickey stood there in front of me in center field. Cashman GONE! Boone GONE! Why not? Cashman with his rah rah BS is sickening. Cashman is loading up with everyone else's trash. Watch the Angels play. They have a manager. They play exciting baseball, and are genuinely having fun doing it.

    The Rays are better at baseball because they improve the players that they sign. The Yankees do not improve their players once they are on the roster, they do not help their players stay healthy, but they do sign them to long term contracts. The rays also make starting pitching a priority.

    The chemistry is terrible, no life to them. Cashman has built a lot of garbage teams since 2001. Big contracts has killed them over the years. They had two great managers, Torre, and Girardi. Letting Girardi walk and bringing Boone in was a HUGE mistake. Boone is too much of a nice guy, not tough enough to manage these egos on this team. Get rid of Cashman, get rid of Boone, get rid of Thames. Do what you can for this year, and start through attrition at getting this team turned around back the way it was in the 90's with warriors like Paul O'Neil, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez. Clutch hitting, players holding players accountable, managers holding players accountable. I don't believe this team will make the playoffs unless these changes are made very soon. Just my opinion from a disgusted Yankee fan.

      Like who? The vast majority of this team is on team friendly contracts. Only two players are on contracts worth more than $20 million annually. That’s less than the Dodgers, Phillies and Padres.
      The Yankees passed on Machado, they passed on Harper, they passed on Bauer. In the past they would have splashed the cash on these guys and watched as their bloated contracts were paid long after they were worth a quarter of the money (A-Rod, Ellsbury, Giambi etc.)
      Instead the Yankees have gone for lesser known players for the most part (Urshela, Voit, Lemahieu) or they have used their farm system (Torres, Judge, Frazier, 75% of the bullpen.)
      Yeah they suck right now but it’s not because they have bloated contracts.

  • @joekotulak7617
    @joekotulak7617 Před 3 lety +1

    I’m sorry if it clearly sounds I’m discounting everything a hitter’s does well with advanced stats (OBP, OPS, WAR), but in the end those starts matter less in the grand scheme of a shorter sample size when opportunities to score are naturally down with greater pitching in the postseason.
    This team simply thinks they can homer their way to a title without having a good mix of driving in runs with singles and doubles as well. Very few teams that I can think of only win titles hitting just a lot of homers with pitching.
    Yes teams do win titles hitting a lot of homers, but people are very flawed in their thinking that just any team that hits a lot of homers with pitching and defense can win it all when history shows it’s those teams that not only can hit a lot of homers, but also drive in a lot of runs with singles and doubles.
    The only team that comes to my mind is the 2008 Phillies. They however are an exception not the norm.

    One of the problems is that the Yankees have too many players who try to hit home runs everytime they step up to the plate. They need to put the ball in play and hit for average to get on base. Baseball is a team sport where everyone must contribute to win as a team not as an individual. Season is still young and allot of baseball left but if players continue to swing for the fences every at bat then it’s going to be a Long season for the Yankees.
