It's great that Luke gave the acknowledgment to Phil Taylor as the best ever. That is one example of Luke Humphreys showing his class.
Makes me feel for him that even in victory he thinks about people not liking him. He's absolute class, well spoken, a fair sportsman and the best player in the game. I hope he feels the love more now.

Masters and worlds series aren't majors. Premier league nice for money but doesnt have major status when you don't have an open field. UK open is a major though of corse. Euros is bug its the least important major.

What a champion. Humbled as. Mentions others not arrogant, not putting anyone down. So refreshing for the sport. Full of respect for the players past and present.
Darts is so lucky to have such a flagship bearer for the sport ; not for many many years has it had such a likeable down to earth number 1.
He has that perfect balance of huge talent , a lot of self belief and yet the realism and humility to know that he's not unbeatable and there are a bunch of players out there ready and willing to topple him should he not stay totally focussed.
Give the man much credit and hope he stays the best for many many years to come.

I do admire Luke's honesty every time he's interviewed - he's a really decent guy and as many often say...the haters are insane as there's nothing to dislike.

Is MVG the only guy to ever say something as silly as "I deserved to win " How can you deserve to win in an individual game that you lost 18.15?🤣 He's not the sharpest tool in the toolbox🤣
It's even worse considering Luke has had a significantly higher average than MVG every single round of the 2024 Matchplay. The finals were as close as he got, and MVG was still 2.3 points behind Luke. This after MVG claimed he was the better scorer. As his dominance in darts becomes an increasingly distant memory, MVG compensates with increasing delusion.

What a top bloke
Luke did a great job, but it’s far to early to think he can’t get back to his old form. He is only 35 and remember that Phil Taylor came back for one last time in 2009-2014 at a higher age. Luke has a hard job to stay hungry and then he still never matches MVG titles.
