⭐Published in 1592
🌟 The play opens with a Prologue that clearly states about Marlow's previous writings. Doctor Faustus is often compared to Icarus in the Prologue.
💭 When the play opens we see that Doctor Faustus is in his study and contemplating about his education so far. He is a voracious reader and mastered in many fields like logic, medicine, law, theology. Now he is thinking to know the unknown. Through his speech we came to know that two fellow scholars Valdes and Cornelius, Faustus learns about necromancy.
⭐One Good Angel came to forbid Faustus, advises him to leave the evil thought but another Bad Angel told Faustus to pursue the black magic.
⭐ Now Faustus with the help of the evil book summons the lords of the Hell. Lucifer, Mephistophilis arrive at the scene.
⭐🌟 Mephistophilis appears and Faustus whipped him to change his evil look, Mephistophilis does so. Now Mephistophilis told him about a pact that Faustus have to sell his soul to enjoy 24 years of Voluptuous life, the will must be signed by Faustus's blood.
⭐ Faustus did so though he faced great difficulty while signing as the word 'Homo fuge' appears on his arm but he signed that will.
⭐Now Faustus became very powerful, though sometimes he oscillates between past and present and his now constant companion Mephistophilis could sense the condition that Faustus was undergoing so Lucifer, Mephistophilis they now wanted to show Faustus their power. In order to prove them superior they called Seven Deadly Sins. Faustus was amazed to see the big show. Now he felt that he is the master of all the sins and one by one throughout the whole play he adventured. Sometimes he sold a poor man a horse 🐴 made of hay, sometimes he brings a horn at Benebolio's head. At Rome he and Mephistophilis dismisses Pope's grand banquet. Not only that bur even he boxed Pope's ears. He travelled Europe, went to Germany. There he met with emperor Charles V and impresses them by showing the ghost of Alexander the Great. He also went to the court of Duke of Vanholt,where he performs various feats.
🌟Now 24 years of deal came close, Faustus was yet to commit the great sin, now he asks Mephistophilis for Helen of Troy. Helen appears and Faustus was happy.
⭐🌟 An Old Man asks Faustus fir forgiveness but Faustus couldn't pray to God as he could sense that some forces were pulling his hand downwards. Faustus acts like a crazy person. He is at loss. He could sense that what is going to happen. He is at loss. Poor Faustus he begged but all went in vain. Devil came at midnight when the clock strikes twelve and snatched his soul.
🌟 At the morning Faustus's two scholars found his dismantled body and they could sense what happened with Faustus.
⭐The prologue ends with a note that we shouldn't stretch our knowledge too far.

3. Selling soul to devil for immense knowledge, so when he got the immense knowledge of underworld and world, why did he commited all those sins?
3. Can we deduce that, Faustus knowledge is equivalent to Adam's eating the apple of knowledge and then be forever damned?
4. Does Faustus reflect the extremity of human's evil side, just as Mr.Kurtz of Heart of Darkness? And do we need religion ( in case of Faustus) or civilization to limit Human's animal spirit?
