I think he was allowed to watch CZcams when he was 10 and he basically just watched gaming. I'd like to say it did good for him. We also had him grow up with 2 cats and a dog. Sadly the cats have passed but the dog is still with us and he treats her amazingly. Not letting your kid watch CZcams can be good for them, there's lots of kids stuff on Netflix. I wonder, how many of these videos are weird fetish shit masked as "for kids" like the Elsa crap that was on YT back in the day. Seeing a lot of the "most watched" parts seem to be specifically when an animal is in distress, is stuck, or is being stressed out in some way. I know hamsters attract kids because "cute", and fish because "pretty colours and lots of movement", but I just find it odd. Definitely a good idea, especially with the animal videos out there. I saw one kid IRL treating a fish like a toy once (a betta, he picked up the bowl) and I really don't see society in general doing much. Mind you, I did tell the kid not to pick up the betta bowl because the fish is a living thing, and I think he listened to me, but I know a lot of people overlook behavior like that (including many of the same people who would not hesitate to tell kids not to pick up random items in a china shop or antique store, even though antiques sturdy enough to be sold in an antique store without protective cases are likely considerably less fragile than a betta in a bowl).

There's a "kid channel" called "Sea Animals Official" where they put a bunch of small animals of all sort (including fish and ducklings) in some kind of backyard or wetland and catch them with sharks handpuppets and nets. They even have a video where they "find" a bunch of baby chicks locked inside a toy microwave (and pretend to attack a visibly terrified baby crocodile afterward)! And in their most viewed video, they catch a puppy with a fishing net and the poor baby looked so confused.

I made a list of these messed up "kids" channels in hopes that they get taken down (Updated as of Thursday 22nd December 2022):
*Magnet Balls* (seen by Soda Pets; mixes animals & overcrowds them; animals died on screen from fighting or bad conditions)
*Fish Surprise* (formerly *Funny Ducklings* seen by AVNJ & Soda Pets; an infamous one where ducklings are abused with overcrowded tanks. Animal died onscreen from bad conditions)
*Love animals T2* (mentioned in a comment; literally the same as NVY - animals world)
*Dinosaur World* (formerly *HOHO Cooking* seen by Soda Pets: they use fish corpses in stop motion & do inappropriate non-kid friendly stuff with them)
*ANA CHACK AK* (mentioned in a comment; abuses toads, frogs & ducklings by mixing them & harassing them)
*Fish Lover* (mentioned in a comment; they put a living goldfish in a freezer 😱)
*cocina primitiva* (mentioned in a comment; same as Dinosaur World)
*Tony FiSH* (seen by Soda Pets; overcrowded fish tanks & also mix cold & tropical water fish; also put male Betta Fish together)
*Kayyesa Fish* (seen by Soda Pets; overcrowded fish tanks)
*Hamsterious* (seen by TehMimi; one of those Squid game hamster channels where hamsters are flung around like toys)
*Animal Stop Motion Cooking* (seen by Soda Pets; same as Dinosaur World, but include baby alligator corpses)
*Animal Home HT* (seen by Soda Pets; put monkeys, paralysed rabbits, diseased ducks, koi & goldfish in stressful situations, such as putting land in rapid waters & fish out of water)
*Animal Islands* (dyed chicks, hold animals by holding necks, put them inside toy vehicles)
*Baby Monkey Animal* (seen by Soda Pets; just like Animal Home HT, but with sick kittens & baby monkeys instead)
*Fish Cutting* (formerly *Fishcutting Chicks* found by Gaadoue19; they dye chicks & use them as toys (put in toy vehicles, & noisy toys are put in their enclosure), & are forced to swim in a pool. They get fed junkfood. The channel somehow won a CZcams GOLD PLAY BUTTON)
*Baby Chicks* (found by Gaadoue19; same as Fish Cutting)
*BABYCHICKS* (same as Baby Chicks, potentially a sister channel)
*Primative Technology KH TV* (found by Gaadoue19; Staged wild survival videos; they abduct "wild" animals found in unlikely places (e.g: chickens in trees) & take baby birds from parents. All the animals abused are killed & cooked. They feed dogs food with spices in that are bad for them)
*Kustka1* (found by Gaadoue19 just like as Primitive Technology KH TV. It may possibly be by the same people)
*Cooking in Forest* (found by Gaadoue19; just like Primitive Technology KH TV. It may possibly be by the same people)
*Kittens and Ducklings* (found in MY Recommendations; some videos are dodgy, having ducklings in paddling pools with balls & bath tubs with nowhere to rest)
*Aquatic Animal Official* (found by me; harass goldfish with plastic fish & are left on dry land &/or in small puddles)
List of Channels (Possibly) Taken Down:
*NVY - animals world* (mentioned in a comment on a Soda Pets video; they did the same things Magnet Balls do)
*Super fish* (seen by Soda Pets; like Dinosaur World, but backwards)
*Sea Animals Official* (found by Gaadoue19; they chase & harass small animals with a shark puppet & fishing nets. Live Animals get put inside toys. Fish are left on dry land &/or in small puddles)

These videos always really bothered me- The poor fish don't deserve all the stress they've been put through. Even as a kid, when I got my first aquarium, I did all of my research to make sure my fish would be happy and healthy and it makes me sad seeing these videos made for kids encouraging this kind of mistreatment of them.

    • @bombdotcom2168
      @bombdotcom2168 Před 2 lety +1

@@Nika44 When I first got my fish, I bought a large aquarium with a filter and a heater, and was very careful about how everything was set up and the kinds of things I had in the tank, which were a few safe artificial plants and a little cave looking thing in the corner.
My brother was upset that he didn't get to have fish of his own, so my parents took him to the store to pick out some fish- and didn't get him his own aquarium. Up until his fish inevitably died (due to him getting fish that required colder water than my tropical fish) I had to keep the aquarium cramped with the new plants he wanted in there. It's really stupid how people think it's easy to take care of fish and how it's a good "beginner pet" when it's really not.

What's depressing to me is just how many people, children especially, are just going to watch this thinking "Cute colorful animals!"
And of course parents aren't watching or parents don't care.
Then these children, and again sometimes adults, see this and want to do the same.

You're awesome, Sody! I love hamsters, and it stinks to see people, adults at that matter, be so rough on them, without a care in the world. And pet fish have feelings too, they need to be handled with care. Hamsters are very sensitive, and can break their bones very easy. I owned two hamsters in my life time, at separate times. I changed their bedding shavings once a week or more, fed them every day, and gave them water bottles. I had one hamster at a time since they're solitary. We had cats too, so we kept them separated. They both lived pretty long! Fuzzy, a teddy bear hamster, healed his teeth when we gave him wood chews! He could have lived to three or four years, we had him for two years, and we don't how old he was before that.

i dont know if this goes for all fish but in elementary school my friends dad had a pond with gigantic koi karps. we would feed them some pellets and they would tollerate being touched/petted...as much as a fish can tollerate a bunch of 6-7 year olds trying to pet it at least.
Idk fish arent petting animals...just get a cat, dog or guineapig if you wanna have something that enjoy being petted.

While it's funny for us to laugh at a hamster wielding an assault rifle, we also gotta remember that guns are generally never shown in (regulated) media geared towards kids, like on TV or movies. CZcams is probably one of the only places that doesn't care if a young child watches simulated gun violence, because no one is previewing these weirdass videos for harmful material before they're released.

They either sell them or...I hope they don't kill them, or even if they set them free they will die. This is just sad and disappointing. AND IT'S FOR KIDS?! Just disgusting, absolutely sick. I have ducks and they should not be put through this type of stress. They can have a heart attack from too much stress. Thank you for spreading this kind of awareness. People need to know this behavior is very wrong.

I’ve seen that duckling channel before, I have 4 tropical fish and I believe that I take pretty good care of em, but this lady was mixing gold fish, bettas, guppy’s I think, tetras, a frog, a little poor kitten, and the duck. I am like 190% sure those fish started to kill each other. Because I mostly know that goldfish and bettas can be aggressive and will eat each other, so the tank was like a fish fight to the death. It was horrible, there was no filter or heater, the tank was max 5 gallons, I really feel bad for those fish.
