Ah yes, the game that gave us so many comedic moments, yet was never finished. In other words, a game the game grumps played.

With how bad the controls are, I'm not surprised nor can I blame them.
Well this one is specifically not enjoyable to finish at all. Like most sonic games are fun bad and cool to look at, Secret Rings is unbelievably dull for the whole 10 fucking hours it takes to beat.
I thought they didn't finish generations, but they did 😅😂 they need to stop making this a habit lol

This game may not be the best in the _Sonic_ franchise, but the Game Grumps always know how to make even the worst games so much more enjoyable and hilarious. Seriously, Dan calling the Erazor Djinn "the exact midpoint between Thanos and Fred Durst", is priceless. How do they come up with this stuff?
Frankly, the worse the Sonic game is, the better the Grump episodes will be. To the point where I now constantly WANT them to release awful ones knowing there will be some hysterical grumpy comedy in the future. (And I'm happy to report that both the Grumps and Sonic team keep delivering!)
@@kantackistan and on the flipside, them playing Frontiers may result in a not-stellar series, like how the Sonic Colors series was kind of unmemorable...

I hope Dan eventually listens to Steve Conte outside of the context of this Sonic game. His work with Yoko Kanno is tremendous. Rain, stray, Heaven's Not Enough, Call Me Call Me, No Reply, and Living in the Shell are all bangers.

Oh god I played this game when I was something like 8. I had no clue what sonic game it was because I couldnt find anything about a desert sonic game. I only remember being stuck and eventually giving up in some multi level temple with stairs around it or something. This is already unlocking repressed memories

Despite it getting overused, I really do like Seven Rings in Hand. And that's about the only nice thing I can say about this game. Would be pretty swell if Dan did do a cover.

Steve Conte does make a lot of butt rock but I still love him, he made some of the most memorable OST's for me. Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Ghost In The Shell, and yes... Sonic lol

Oh god, his description of how the jump works reminds me of our microwave. It only registers a button press upon letting go, and only if you pressed it for like half a second before you let go, which is so ass backwards! I keep telling my mum how fucked it is but she doesn't seem to notice lol.

Sonic and the secret rings was almost my first sonic game. It was my birthday and my dad took me to GameStop so I could pick out whatever game I wanted. I grabbed Sonic and the Secret Rings off the shelf when my dad asked “Are you sure that’s what you want?” Thanks to my dads intervention, I decided I didn’t actually want that game and I returned it so I could get Sonic and the Black Knight instead
They should try out the party mode on that game it's a blast
