Eric was nearing his peak around then, even though Venus Isle was spectacular.... Eric in the late 80s, early 90s is the very best playing on electric I have ever heard. Long live the Texas Tone Poet.

I’m not just saying this because I have an Eric Johnson page, but this is probably one of the best rock songs I’ve ever heard. It’s an absolute masterclass of guitar playing and an incredibly composed song
The 1988 ACL version is good and all, but this blows it out of the water for sure. This version just hits so much harder and is more aggressive, which is how it’s meant to be played.
This version is incredible, underrated, even better than the live from Austin 1988. It's like witnessing EJ reaching his peak at all levels, melody, harmony, rhythm, chording, solos, voice, pre-recorded chorus.. Thanks for sharing.. please more !!!!

He’s truly amazing and out of this world!
A trail of tears: what EJ creates in his wake for all the guitarists out there who thought they were pretty good

Love listening to Eric ...better knowing his lyrics
So much more to this version than ACL
