How does Texas use its regions in the playoffs? Every year desoto and north shore on the opposite sides but katy and lake Travis will be on north shores and dunxanville and Allen desoto rockwall on the same side. If figured they put Dallas and San anotnio on 1 side and Houston and Austin the other but Westfield playing desoto next so I don’t get it
U might be thinkin about westlake they in Austin
You can look at the UIL map(very confusing at first glance) or pinpoint where the schools are and what region they reside it, you can see a glimpse of the area they are playing in and very different for each division. I can provide an example, so in 6a D1, if you look at the schools in region 1 mostly consist of schools from northern/western of Dallas and west Texas consisting of El Paso/Odessa, region 2 is southern/Eastern Dallas towards north-western Houston and south of Waco, Region 3 is rest of Houston teams, And region 4 is dominantly consist of Austin, San Antonio teams, and south Texas teams(I’m talking till the border cities).

Question , what's the middle point of split of North Texas and south Texas? Is it Austin , TX or no? I'm trying understand Texas playoff system ... Because Cali has it's North vs South champions play in state championships
There's 32 districts with 8 in each region(4 regions in 6A and every other classification)
Region 1 is West Texas and the Fort Worth side of the Metroplex.
R2 is Dallas half of the Metroplex/East TX/Central Texas and a few districts in the northern fringe burbs of the Houston metro
R3 is all Houston Metro
R4 is Austin/San Antonio Metro areas down to the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo/Eagle Pass/ Del Rio Border areas
After Regionals R1 vs R2 and R3 vs R4 in the Semis.
Texas, despite its size, manages to crown true state champions. I wish Cali could do the same but the sections will never cede their power to the CIF.

@@npierce14 , True. That QB was the reason why Converse Judson was able to beat Desoto back in week 1. At first it seemed like Judson was the deal, but boy o boy did that age horribly. Judson finished off 4 and 6. They got lucky to win two of those games by one point. I always knew that Desoto's QB was the reason why Judson was able to beat them
