1:51 a band called car seat headrest actually used this drum toy in their NPR show. you should definitily check them out if you haven't, they are pretty good and this performance in particular is hillarious
That style of toy drum is made by multiple different brands and varies in quality. Terry Davis also had a set before finally getting his real full size drum set.
Don't you love it when they put the entire product description as the product name? I'm actually impressed they managed to get the larger drum tuned that much higher than the smaller/side drums. Lol
I'd watch a whole video of EMC messing around with a Djembe, definitely looks like hes having fun with it.
I’d assume the 4” djembe is referring to the diameter not the height.

I had a similar situation to the o-rings with a big fat snare drum. Some genius in ups folded it and it was all wrinkly. I ironed it with a shirt on top on the floor and that worked surprisingly well. I also used a hair blower to fix a friend of mine's o-ring

I bought that little table top drum for my 3 y/o nephew at Five Below for... $5
Why do I have the sudden urge to pick one up next time I'm in a Five Below? Sure it's almost completely useless but it's only $5! That's practically free!
They also sell some little plastic ukuleles that are... interesting. The sound quality is actually better than what you'd expect out of a $5 plastic toy (although still bad) but the instrument is kiiiinda out of tune with itself, in the sense that fretting 0 actually gives you a semitone below the root relative to every other fret. So like the start of a major scale up one string is 0 1 3 4 6 instead of 0 2 4 5 7. Not impossible to work around once you understand what's happening but it's obviously less than ideal and makes anything with a flat 2 impossible to play. That's before even getting into the tuning between the strings or relative to other instruments.
Anyway 10/10 purchase, love that store.

My wife picked one up for $5 at Kohl's, already assembled. My kid actually had a lot of fun with it for a couple days, but he couldn't resist the urge to destroy it because 3 year old boys. It's got kind of a cool sound too, 3 stars for sure.
A hair dryer will reset those damping rings.....That Moeller technique you put on display while throttling that massive mini kit was pure FIRE!!!!

Not related to the video, but I too have been searching Amazon for percussion stuff and was curious on people thoughts on drum dials vs tune bot. I would be primarily using it for marching drums and for students to use to Independently tune when I’m away. Thoughts?

Try heating the O rings on the low setting of a heat gun. Apply slight tension if possible. (Pull the ring flat as you heat it)

you should make a drumset out of these!
an iron or hair dryer will make these flatten out again. Use a wet towel with the iron and put the towel on top of the rings.
What tenor pad is that behind you?!
Would those o-rings flatten out if they were hit with a heat gun or hair dryer?
A heatgun/blow dryer on low MIGHT fix those rings.
Tip for bent o rings, just use an iron to straighten it

Next time you get orings that are bent like that, try using a hair dryer set to high heat to warm them up and then sandwich them betwwn the heavy books or weights... Just don't get the dryer so close to the plastic that it will melt. lol
