      Hi Freddy,
      First of all,
      thank you very much for your response.
      I am very honored to receive your comment.
      Your 12-part video series on youtube about the construction of a LP was the inspiration and advice source for me. I have viewed these frequently. Beautiful guitars you build there.
      I copied the duplicator you use there (I am a welder by profession) and also used it in my first LP construction. also seen on youtube.
      Next month I start my third build. Keep up the good work.
      with kind regards, WK

    I like the old style bridge where the threaded rod is screwed into the body until bottomed out. Then the thumb wheels, like the ‘59 had. I have a 2022 ‘50s standard that I did the Faber 3117 plus on, and I think it makes a difference. It got rid of the shrill sounding highs current Les Paul’s have, and seems more woody sounding.

    • @RylanStorm
      @RylanStorm Před 9 měsíci +6

      I think that's because this is hand made and a lot has gone into it. And it shows.
      These days, Gibson throws a plank in a machine and a Les Paul guitar comes out almost ready for finishing.
      Then, they slap a binding on, stain the body, forget to scrape down the binding properly, ignore the fret ends and push it out the door with the lacquer still not set.
      Meanwhile, Cort, Schecter, PRS and many others are all putting out guitars with more features, better materials, better craftsmanship with a neck joint that won't snap with a slight knock, for half the price.
      And they do that so that people can look at them and say "I mean, it's alright but it's not a Gibson"
      That's why we don't understand the price on the average Les Paul.

    • @bldallas
      @bldallas Před 8 měsíci +1

      There is obviously a lot of work that goes into making a guitar.; any guitar really. But keep in mind Gibson is doing all this on a production line. Yes, American labor is more expensive than Chinese or Indonesian labor, but a huge part of the $3000+ price on a American Les Paul Standard is frankly the name.
