She's one of the best singers in Sweden - she had major voice issues on this performance - and no, noon could have done it better when she's on fire, and well... she actually had fever and flu on this performance, wich tells you what kind of an amazing artist she is :)

Some facts to mention about this:
Carola is very well known across Europe, she is called the Swedish Schlager Queen. Schlager is a style of music, very popular in Germany and Sweden, and the uplifting positive vibes are very characteristic of this type of rhythms.
Keep in mind, that in Eurovision the voices are always live and the maximum of people on stage (or outside) is 6 (including backing singers, dancers musicians and lead singers)
This kind of music sounds very Eurovision-esque, it is hard to find it out of the eurovision world. But the contest is bigger than this. You can find many different styles, genres, and fusion music, many countries like to send entries with some traditional sounds. Thanks for reacting to eurovision. Keep doing it! I love it

You should react to Carola's songs from her album Runaway from 1986, the album was produced by Maurice Gibb and the songs written by the Gibb brothers (Bee Gees). Carola's voice is flawless and perfect when she's not ill as she was during this performance. You need to hear more of her and I'm sure you will like her voice too. React to Carola and her songs "The Runaway", "Radiate" and "Nature Of The Beast" from the Runaway album. These songs are very 80's and brilliant.

Carola was actually part of the ESC 3 times directly, in the 80's (where she became 3rd), in the 90s (where she won, I think 1993) and in 2006 (where she was in the Top 10, I think 8th). That is a great result spree, especially over 3 decades!!! - Only one better on average was Katja Ebstein from Germany, who became 2nd once and 3rd twice which is the best participation without winning for 3 participations :D

Carola is one of our best singers in Sweden..she been in eurovision many times.
If youre moore intresstid in what els we have here you can look at these...
This first one is not eurivison but the same song and artist that done it here its in Hammerfalls consert in "Dalhalla".
That is special do to many things..."Dalhalla" is a outdoor place built from the start for opera conserts...its a special place that been a bandoned quarry in the woods just outside Rättvik. Sweden has established a unique festival arena with exceptional acoustics of international repute. It is fully comparable to the best outdoor venues in Europe and is even described as one of the most sonorous and beautiful outdoor venues in the world.
This show is the first of it's kind do to it's the first hardrock consert there with Swedens best hardrock band Hammerfall. I was there and it was awsome. It rained so mutch almost the hole time and it dident matter becouse we al hade so mutch fun.
They hade invited a complete different music genre artist Roger Pontare that shouldent function togheter but wow they did!!! It's magic.
    czcams.com/video/8fL7v-z8w2w/video.html
This is also the song that Roger Pontare sang in Eurivsion but in english!!!! When the contest wherre held here in Sweden to se whitch one was going to Eurivsion I hade a strange time aboute this song becouse he sang it in Swedeish but I heard english!!!! That never happend before. But he did win and got to go and then everyone else heard what I heard the first time.
I have meat him in real life when he sang here in our church in our littel town of 9000 persons. He is so nice and sings so good. I love his songs and voice.

Dereck: You should listen to her album "Runaway". The Bergens Brothers wrote the music. There's lots of good songs on that album like "The Runaway", "Radiate", "Nature Of The Beast", "When Two Worlds Collide" to mension a few.....
I hope you will do a reaktion on one of these songs. ❤❤❤❤

If you run out of Eurovision classics, give Melodifestivalen a try. It is the Swedish trials for which song to send to Eurovision and if you think Eurovision is hype, then Melodifestivalen is manic..
Not as diverse in the type of music, but still some good and interesting classics!

Carola is classically trained. There's a video here somewhere where she sings with Andrea Botcelli and uses her opera voice. There's also a video where she performs U2's "In The Name Of Love", backed by a 10,000 people choir. (I think it was 10,000. It was a while ago.)
In this clip she was very sick. Her voice is normally much better than this.
BTW, I enjoy your videos (especially the Swedish ones 😉)however I will give you a little tip that might increase your subscriptions. Absolutely don't take this the wrong way please. Here it goes: Stop your habit of repeating yourself twice. It's very distracting and takes away from the enjoyment of watching your reaction. I'm telling you this with love and just maybe it can help you. A speech therapist can help if doing it on your own is too difficult. How we speak in front of an audience is more important than people think. They might not know what bothers them when they listen but they will turn away.
Anyhow, tons of love and hugs! 😍🤗

I’m late to the party story of my life but Carola is my older sister my brother and I are the unspoken family secret say no more. This was her third Eurovision entry she previously won it but I digress. I can’t believe that anyone has ever had such an honest reaction to her performance thank you so much it truly has made my day. I really appreciate your honesty and respect your opinion as a true reaction Carola has had ups and downs in her career but this would thrill her. I will be sure to tell her about you as you deserve the praise for honesty.

Nice performance but not the best choice when it comes to voice. For voice power please react to Conchita Wurst with Rise like a Phoenix or Aminata with Love injected. And you still haven't reacted to any song from the unbelievable Loic Nottet. I would suggest Million eyes (VIDEO) or his Eurovision performance with Rhythm inside...

I almost never react but since we're talking about Carola and because I'm halve Swedish I couldn't resist. And I know already i'm not gonna make myself popular but she's way OVERRATED!!! There are way better artists walking around in Sweden, trust me. Same for eurovision. Artists like Loreen, Elena Mechayeva, I think, anyway she sang La Forza and Loic Nottet... Now those were performances!!! And i'm sure I forgot a few!!!

Lyrically, both the Swedish and English versions are not all that. Although, I personally found the English version the worst. Her singing is a matter of taste, but she did screech her way through this one. Her Eurovision career started in 1983 at the age of 16 with the song "framling" (stranger). There is also a Dutch (je ogen hebben geen geheimen meer) and English version ( love isn't love) of this song. Again, the English version is bloody awful.
In the gay community she caused a backlash when she alienated many gays and some heterosexual fans in an interview by alleging that she knew homosexual people who had become heterosexual through prayers.
She mainly known in Sweden for her devout Christian faith and her membership of the controversial evangelical church "Livets ord" (Word of Life).
She has also been quoted as saying that homosexuality would "still be unnatural to her".
Carola is a bit like surströmming in Sweden - you either love her or can't stand her. 😏
