Ep#22 of Forts of India: Patiala Fort Qila Mubarak is in Punjab is an ancient fortress of Sikh architecture. Quila Mubarak was first built as a 'Kachigarhi' (Mud fortress) by Sidhu Jat ruler Baba Ala Singh in 1763, who was the founder of the Patiala dynasty. Later, it was reconstructed in baked bricks.

I am a resident of Patiala, but unfortunately have never visited quila androon. Every time i went there, access to quila was restricted due to ever going repair. The staff is extremely rude. Since this building was used as a government building, it has been neglected and abused always. The state government is the one to be blamed for.

This qila (fort) was made by Ahmad Shah Abdali urf Durani of Afganistan And gave the first title of RaJa- Rajan ketab to Ala's grand Son.

Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Maharaj di blessings c es pariwar te....though they were aligned with Pathans against Mughals but this fort was originally built by Sidhu Jatts themselves...who started this Dynasty. Many relics belonging to Dasmesh pita ji are there with this family and this fort.
