Being physically attractive brings many benefits in life. It also brings lots of nastiness and petty jealousies. Why is it when a woman wants to be independent and do her own thing, like holidaying/touring/LIVING on her own that people just can't accept that is the way she wants to live her life. And why do other women see her as a threat to their husbands/partners when there is no evidence they would have any reason to be suspicious! Yet just simple politeness and sociability is misinterpreted as flirting and a fervent desire on my part to fumble with the contents of their husband's underpants! But for me the worst thing is other people wondering WHY I'm on my own! I cannot count the times I've been asked where's my 'husband' by other women when I've stayed at campsites etc!? And also the times when they've said I'm 'brave' because I'm on my own, or even that their husbands wouldn't' 'allow' them to do what I do! We females are 50% of the world's population. So providing nothing we do is detrimental or harmful to the other 50%, many of whom are extremely wonderful, let us try and respect each other's choices as much as we can. For many years now, I've lived alone and absolutely love it! I wouldn't have been able to do half the things I've done if I'd been in a relationship. I'm now aged 66 and have led as many lifetimes, with hopefully a few more to go. My body is no longer the supple and attractive haven it once was, but the upside is I no longer give a shyte what other people think or say about me! I laugh in the face of counted calories and loudly despair if the cream cake shelf is empty! But I WOULD like to go swimming again without the need for assistance getting in and out of the pool! And I'd love to be able to ride a bike again, including my motorcycles! And I'd love to be able to walk miles and miles of rugged coastlines again!
