    There's a fine line between collecting and hoarding. A people rarely notice that they've crossed it until years later......

    I am too old to play tennis now but enjoy watching. Croquet in a lawned back garden is an easy fun get together. Reading, try Dornford yates, Angela Thirkell, P G Wodehouse or Ian Fleming. Also Dorothy L Sayers and John Buchan. The only newspaper I read is the Times. Collect books, see above, watches, they do not need to be expensive Seiko, Rotary and less expensive longines. Fragrances will soon amount to a collection.Walk when you can, who can afford a chauffeured Bentley. You see so much more walking and people say hello. Also clean your shoes. That's all for now. At ease.

    Too many people don't see the advantage of volunteering to charities especially donating your time not only will it help others but will give you more self respect and yes you will meet new people. I have been a collector most of my life. It broadens your mind and you can meet a lot of wonderful people. I used to play tennis in highschool but I'm too old now more into skeet shooting and fly fishing. Cheers Ron

    My latest hobby as a 59-year-old is playing guitar. I absolutely love it and should have started 45 years ago. (But the second best time is now!) As a byproduct, I have been playing online games much less. And my wife likes my guitar hobby much better. So that is my advice: don’t be negative and think that you have to stop gaming. Instead, be positive and try to find something more worthwhile that you love to do. Hopefully, the gaming time will reduce naturally, without having to obsess over reducing it.

    Other than the speech clubs ( iv done in past so not currently) I am honestly surprised and delightfully comforted that a lot of these recommendations are in my monthly free time. Although living in Florida, makes picking up the tennis racket and more of a seasonal thing due to the heat. I definitely love reading the paper.

    I love working with my hands. I can do basic house repairs, i.e. rewiring electrical outlets, minor plumbing, installing lighting, etc. My biggest project was installing both a new furnace motor and a water heater. I can also change the brakes on a car, and as an avid cyclist do all my own repairs and bike builds. I subscribe to the NYT, the New Yorker and the Wall Stree Journal. My local public library card is well used. I love to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. See working with my hands above.

    Volunteering is great for men because it is WAY overpopulated with women. I know because I used to volunteer in hopes of meeting people (i.e. men). There were hardly any. Also, some of these activities required physical strength. The men could plow through half a dozen tasks before I could finish one. And I was fit.

    **sees tennis in the thumbnail** **immediately hides** I took a public speaking class at community college, I found it quite helpful. I found I actually don't tend to get nervous at all with public speaking, I'm one of those lucky jerks who actually love attention. I only occasionally read the New York Times, but I love msnbc, and I do agree the NYT is easily one the higher-quality newspapers. Tennis: I feel similarly to sports as I feel to the plague. However, I'm glad others enjoy them! I do not. Do you play tennis? Volunteering is obviously important and I guess something I should do more. As for collecting, I kind of collect books, which is an expensive hobby but it brings me joy. You collect vintage Playboy, not something I expected but I love it! Sidenote, there's something I've been meaning to mention: you said in a comment that your political views are libertarian. I would love to hear more about this! Whenever it is possible to do the Q&A, I hope you discuss this. Till next time, cheers to your style.

    • @Gent.Z
      @Gent.Z  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah I do play tennis, although I used to play even more at my old apartment which had a tennis court. Honestly, I plan on deliberately keeping politics off my channel. And that’s because I want us to feel united in our mission of being gentlemen, and I don’t want anyone to feel less welcome because they have different views than my own. But I’m sure you can understand that 🙏

    • @jeremiahbok9028
      @jeremiahbok9028 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Absolutely! Speaking for myself, I wouldn't be grouchy or put off your channel because of your differing political views. But I realize a lot of people would be. And I appreciate that you want everyone to feel welcome here. Thank you for another response! A lot of CZcamsrs don't or can't interact in the comments and I just want you to know I appreciate that you do.

    Have to disagree about newspapers - these days they are poorly written, biased and misinformative. On top of that, they are not environmentally friendly. Having said that, there are publications such as the Spectator which are of a higher standard
