Nice to see the review. and well explained !! , I purchased it , Overall the performance is good . the only Con i see is parking mode, in this parking surveillance mode is event based and will not activate in small hit or if someone make scratch on Car. An event based means dashcam will record in case of any incident like collision, hit n run case Or loud noise while your car is parked. Visual event recording is different, it is called motion detection.

Is there any way to correct lens distortion i.e. fish eye effect? Is that function available in mobile app?
Lens destination is auto in A500S, cannot be adjusted manually.
Try adjusting the lens angle to reduce this effect.
While reversing can you rely on the reverse dashcam. I don't have parking camera. Is there any lag between the preview and recording.

Hi , many say that hardwiring and enabling parking sensors will drain out the battery fast. If I hardwire, but if I disable the parking surveillance option on the screen, will it still drain the battery? Or is it like , if we hardwire, irrespective of whether we enable or disable the mode, the battery will be used.
Hi, hardwiring consume battery power only when you enable the parking surveillance features. Also, it offers auto cut-off at 11.8V to avoid battery over discharge. It's completely safe 👍

In 70mai the rear camera goes on standby mode while your car is parked and records only in case of an event, the front one has an option to record continuously (up to 48 hours) in parking mode too.

Regarding the ADAS, Yes they have worked on it but still sometimes it fails to identify vehicles in front. Rest, lane change, motion detection alerts are accurate and reliable. Hope this helps.

Hello, please check if the parking mode duration is set in camera settings > Turn off in Parking mode (Set this option to 5,10 or 20 mins).

Personally, I'd like to see 70pai sell a screenless version of this with GPS. After a few days of installation, no one bothers about the screen. It's perfectly OK to have a black and white screen for setup instructions. It conserves battery life and processing power used to display videos. A 60 fps version would be preferable for capturing the license plates of oncoming vehicles and those that hit and run from the side. Could you recommend any cameras in the pricing range of 10k?
Speech based alert system of ADAS are annoying as most of the time one is playing music. Instead warning beep tones would draw your concentration more. This is the reason why no car company uses speech based alert system.
Does that display helps in reverse parking? Or is it too small?
Screen is necessary; otherwise, sometimes if the camera stops working one can't notice it.
How to view rear/back camera view? I'm not able to watch rear view in app or camera itself.. Only front view is visible.

Hi Manoj, the Dash cam will capture both, normal and emergency footage and will save in different sub folders for easy handling.

Hi Swapnil, the main difference is the hardware configuration, the front camera in A800S supports native 4K UHD output 2160P at 30fps and offers 3" LCD display for better visibility. Also, processor, image sensor is better as compare to A500S.
Rest the rear camera is the same in both models.

Does a500s rear cam preview/live stream shows in App when connected to wifi ? If not, kindly suggest a 70mai cam where both cam live stream can be seen in app together.

Unfortunately 70mai app doesn’t support the rear view preview through their app, you can preview the rear side on dashcam screen only.

Can the parking mode be switched off using the mobile app? And when parking mode is off, will it still consume the car battery and drain out?
In my case, for most of the time my car will be in secured parking, only when I park outside sometimes, I need the parking model to switch on!
Hi, Yes, the parking monitoring can be turned off from the app or dashcam settings, overall battery consumption is minimal while your car is parked as the device will be in standby mode and operates only when there is an event like hit n run case. The hardwiring kit also offers auto cut-off at 11.8V to avoid battery drain.

Please reconnect the cable 2 3 times, dashcam will detect the hardwiring cable.

No, only one card is required to operate this dual channel setup, the dashcam will auto create subfolders for the front and rear cameras separately

Hi Vikas, hardwiring installation will cost you approx. 300 for a single channel dashcam and 800 for a dual channel setup. I did it on my own. Please confirm your location, I will help you with the technician details.
