I went to Paris because I remembered an elderly aunt saying to all of us, " Everyone must see Paris before they die!" So I did and ,,, well, here I am .... sending Luca tons of positive energy and cartloads of love to his beautiful family! Stay strong! Push through when you can and remember, "La vita e bella!"

My husband had a stroke in 2019, he did not lose consciousness but was in the way, I was sitting next to him, I noticed something, jumped up, asked him to talk, raise his arms, he couldn't, I yelled call 911 David had a stroke! They got him to hospital a d was in surgery in 1 hour! He is great today

My grandfather had a stroke in front of me when I was around 10 or so, I noticed because he was watching tv and half of his face suddenly looked drooped, he had just eaten a cold yogurt from the fridge and it was a very hot summer day, he didn't lose consciousness either but I remember saying nonno what's wrong? He couldn't answer coherently and I shouted at nonna to come because something was wrong, didn't take her long to understand she immediately called an ambulance while I was crying and checking on nonno until the ambulance arrived, the rest I forgot, this was burned in my memory.

Mom had olive trees and always left the olives at tops of the trees for the birds. It was amazing how many birds visited her trees in the winter when food was scarce.

I started watching you in Canada (where I live) years ago. You've inspired me (we travel in a camper van now) and I write this from Sicily where we are visiting for the next month. We are in Palermo and going to Cefalu for the month of November. I am a breast cancer survivor of five years. Two years ago we sold everything to travel and have a new life. We bought a condo in Bucerias, Mexico and drove from Canada to Mexico and back again last year. Life is beautiful but never guaranteed and so I will continue to cheer you on as we both find the light and love.

40+ years ago, I was the one on the bed hearing the staff call out, “We’re losing her!” It wasn’t a stroke but a similar spinal injury. You make a new normal & LIVE. ❤ It’s okay to be scared, to worry about the future & how you’ll support yourself & your family. Plan for the contingencies you can & rely on your family. You’ve got a great one. Don’t be afraid. We got a second chance for a purpose. You’re finding yours. Now go LIVE it & let’s meet in another 40 years to see what we’ve accomplished with our gift 💝

For people who are not medically trained, such an experience is a nightmare par excellence.
I'm glad that I was able to finish my job as a nurse after 20 years without any mental damage. Every doctor, every paramedic and every nurse experiences things that a “normal” person cannot imagine. Firefighters and criminal investigators are also exposed to traumatic experiences. All of this is hardly appreciated by the population and is taken for granted. Luca was lucky that Sara was at his side and was able to successfully attempt resuscitation. This was his chance to survive these strokes.

I for one am grateful for you all. I've been in hospital a few times and the nurses were angels who helped me get through it all. They have to put up with so much, and not all patients are well, "patient", and some can be verbally and physically abusive. All the services you mentioned are here to help us and you all deserve so much more consideration. You are humans, not machines. ❤

I suffer from PTSD after survival the final blow my ex husband gave me and I have to say I wish I could have returned to the hospital to show appreciation of the emergency room medical team for saving my life.
This is an example of why I worked for 38 years in healthcare / nursing. Thank you for sharing....stay strong!

I cried when she first saw her Daddy after the long stay in the hospital and she cried because she didn't recognize him. I was heartbroken, he must have been even worse. Awww.

I cannot imagine having the presence of mind to do CPR on my husband. Or course you had PTSD. OMG! You have both been through so much. You have faced death together and with the help of skilled physicians and the Holy One, you survived and now flourish as a family. And, you have the cutest little girl! I'm a regular viewer of your channel. The first time I watched it was 4 years ago. I have not missed a video of yours in the past 2 or more years, so am now a faithful follower of yours. In all this time I have never commented, but this week's Vlog reminded me of many similarities we share. I also had a stroke this month (Oct 26), but mine was 3 years ago. My left side was affected, same as yours. I too have thought this week about how lucky I am to be alive and so much better today. I still cannot walk without a rollator or cane. You are doing so much better than I am. But then, I am over twice your age, will be 86 in a few days. I love seeing your young family, our 4 kids are grown and gone. We now have 8 grandchildren to give us joy. The youngest is 5, but we remember when she was Lucia's age. I lived in France for 2.5 years starting in 1958 and then traveled through northern Italy the summer of 1960. Also passed there again in the late 60's. Lived in Germany (Stuttgart) for 6 months in the 80's but didn't get to Italy that trip. Watch your health and you will have a long life ahead of you. Chou.
Oh Lucca. I have something similar behind me. I am so happy that im alive and I’m not chasing money anymore. I cooked a nice Sunday meal (peppers filled with meat and companies with Sofritto Tomatoe Sauce) and we are enjoying our food and Espresso after.
Life is precious and you three are doing the right thing: enjoy a simple life.

In September 2020 at the age of 54 I had an immune reaction to a vaccination and became a quadriplegic in less than 12 hours it was purely luck that the doctors realised what was happening and saved me. I spent 8 weeks in rehab and although I have many serious residual deficits but I am able to walk. After 3 years I have been able to get my drivers license back.
However I recently became a widow and lost my Sicilian husband of 40 years to cancer.
These things make you re-think your priorities in life.
I am proud of you both for pushing on and celebrating life so honestly and openly. You give people like me hope that things can get better.
This Australian Nonna of 3 beautiful grandchildren feels blessed to be here every day

This....not everyone is so lucky. I met the love of my life on October 2, 1983. My 2nd marriage and the happiest of my life. On October 2, 2005, his heart stopped and did not restart. Doctors worked hard but it was not to be. So this year, 18 years since he passed, that day is sweet and tearful. We met and I lost him on the same day. Stay strong and love well...be happy.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Our family went through this medical emergency with my son-in-law. My daughter did all the right things as you did. He did not make it. Their kids were 11 and 5. So it was just as awful seeing you three go with this period in your life. It brings me joy now to see you doing so much. It's been so hard. I am lucky to have had 1 video here on my channel of one Happy Birthday.

Don’t waste valuable time & sentiments blaming her mother 🙏 PLEASE ……… there is only ever one true casualty of that sort of bitterness and it is the child . Your relationship with your beautiful daughter is , & ALWAYS WILL be, your responsibility & your responsibility ALONE . Stop the blame game as kids don’t need that trauma
She doesn’t need the added emotional dramas of your fraught r’ship w her mother ….she needs to know her dad will always see “ HER “ as a valued and beloved daughter . Channel your energy into her physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in the best way you can , esp now as she enters adolescence . .
If she is already 10 , & you are putting in every effort to keep contact by whatever means possible , it won’t be long before she will discern the genuine love you have for her . Children are very smart & separate the chaff from the wheat at an early age . Actions always speak louder than words when it comes to nurturing children
@@equatorialjourney4478 Thanks for the concern, but you have it a bit wrong. She's almost 22 now, and the damage was/is total, and her mother is solely responsible for that. Unless you've been through the PAS mill, you're unqualified to give advice. As for making every effort... In most cases that's futile and THAT "every effort" is what causes the trauma. I could have put her mother in jail for noncompliance with a High Court order, but to what end? The child needs a mother. When I said 'denied', I meant totally, to the point of abduction. The bottom line being that until the child is able to assert their wishes to have a relationship with the alienated parent, (which they don't for fear of incurring the wrath of the alienating parent) efforts to enforce legal orders of the High Court just fuel the fire. Again, thanks anyway. I know you mean well, but you're way off.

I have never commented here before, but I felt compelled to after watching this beautiful tribute to your lovely family. You three are a testament to how love conquers all! Watching you find joy in every single day, ups and downs, through all challenges is inspirational for me as a retired nurse who now has medical issues of her own. In my 25+ yr career, I have seen many and done many things that were traumatic, even as a trained professional, and I know that PTSD is a tough thing to heal. But it can be done with help. Sara, let me say, you are also a hero! Truly a beautiful love story. I can’t even imagine. My mom had a brain aneurysm with my dad while on a weekend getaway. She died at 35. My dad was left with 3 little girls. I was 4, my sisters 6 and 9. She was his one true love. Even tho he remarried quickly. It wasn’t good. He passed away 7 years ago at 81. He would still cry whenever he spoke about my mom. I like to believe they are together in heaven again. Thank you Lord for this couples great love story. A true miracle 🙏😊❤️

The world nearly lost a very special person a year ago. My husband had nearly the same thing happen but he lost so much more. Sara I understand the PTSD. This all happened many years ago. My husband has since passed away. Life is so precious. Much love coming your way on your “first” birthday. Love life and live it to the fullest. Bless all three of you.

I had an experience similar and I’m still processing the event, but the hardest part is the trauma I caused to my husband and our son… I’m crying as I watch this. I’m so grateful to be alive❤

I was in my final days dying of metastatic melanoma throughout (and shutting down) my body when I woke from a dream that essentially gave me the antidote to cure myself. I didn’t know if it was a fluke, but I started the regimen and was immediately catapulted from dying to recovering. The experience made me stronger and a believer that I am here for a reason. My birthdays are 7-11 (9 years old) and 11-11 (60 years old). ❤

It’s amazing the miracle after only one year. Luca is back at working at the things he enjoys. You have purchased two pieces of property and remodeling and building and baby girl is healthy and happy enjoying both parents. You have a business of olive oil in your future. Amazing first year, wouldn’t you say. Continued growth and good health for the three of you.

Dear Luca, I was in 29 September 1999, where you were a year go. A month is out of my life what I can't recall what happened. It's the hardest knock what you can get, when the doctors can't explain why you are still alive... It took me almost 3 years to stop asking, why you were spared? We will never know why, but we can life our lives to share and give "Love" out for free. Everybody need love and it cost us nothing...

Hearing you talk about what happened I got chills, and a lump in my throat. I've had a mild stroke around six years ago, it took me over a year to feel like I survived. I love watching your journey guys, and I might even do something similar to you with your property because you have been an inspiration. Love following your journey.❤
