Yes, everyone likes competition and letting the best rise to the top is good in principle. However, this election, the Democratic Party needs to drop their traditional philosophy of “Democrats fall in love” and adopt the Republican Party’s “Fall in line” outlook. The argument using that "keys" model - which, frankly is not worth much for various statistical reasons - has the challenge from within dimension.
