Technically, this is a program that can compete with Evgenia's. No other lady is even attempting a triple lutz-triple loop combination....or putting ALL of their jumping passes in the 2nd half. Carol Lane is right: if you're gonna put your jumps in the 2nd half of the performance, you better land em all. And Alina nailed every single one. Plus, I love her artistry. She comes ALIVE with this music. Don Quixote is a great choice for her and her costume is absolutely stunning. If anyone can beat Evgenia, Alina will be the one....if Evgenia makes mistakes, which is very rare.
Gorgeous flow, technicality and sense of musicality! If she skates with the same emotion like Medvedeva or Yuna Kim in her skating she would perhaps the greatest female skater of all time.
No matter how often I watch this, is always impressive and not just for me. The commentators is also extremely excited and impressed! And rightly so ;)
Alina is so sweet I don't understand why her coaches are so ice hearted with her. Not a sincere smile or hug... She had to hug them... So strange. Don't know if it's just me or Eteri really prefers Eugenia...
I think it is because they know Alina works under pressure. If you look at her story with Eteri, you can conclude that she works best this way. It is not a personal matter. Coaches also have to phsicologically train and prepare their pupils.
At 2:16 it sounded like Carol Lane (I think?) shut Kurt up before had a chance to start bitching about her program layout LMAO. I really hope Alina makes it to the Olympics and does well

Look, I love to hear honest comments, and I thin kdavid and jurt do that, but they did push it a lot in cup of china. I felt like I was watching "fashion police", or a TMZ segment. Besides, Kurt LOVED this program last year, he worshiped this girl last year, and now because she is indeed making Osmond make a run for her money, he is being all shady about it. Not professional at all. He lost a bit of class in cup of china along with David.
I really wonder what the problem is with Canadian and American commentators, aiming at Russian skaters, for ridiculously invalid reasons. Executing figures perfectly suddenly becoming "working the system to your advantage" is such a loser's comment LMAO!!!
kurt is one of the most passionate and knowledgable people about figure skating. he really loves and cares about this sport and i appreciate his honesty! i really look forward to hearing his opinion. i wish tara and johnny cared at all, but im not a fan of their apathetic generic commentary. i like when people are genuinely opinionated!
